This is 10 stars review...i learned number of yelp review doesn't mean if its good or bad business...this one is very old local business with their loyal customers. i left my broken earring at Renee but was worried if i can trust them because it was my first time..i called Denny and he said they sent them to LA and not gonna be ready by a week...i couldn't wait for a week and i was keep thinking why i left it there...but it turns out fixed perfectly and they are all great people... Absolutely wonderful and easy to work with. Perry is such a peach and was able to do mine and my husband's wedding bands. I had my engagement ring that didn't originally have a matching wedding band. Sure enough Perry was able to make a band for me that matched my ring exactly and really made it shine. I left my watch there after requesting a repaired quote and a timeline for when it could be finished. Instead they repaired it without my approval and didn't get back to me for an entire month. When I went to check up on it they told me it was going to cost $150. This was a repair on a $80 watch. I told them that was more than the cost of the watch and was absolutely shocked. The owner then proceeded to tell me that since I didn't want to pay he was going to keep it and sell it. I then said he was basically stealing my watch after which he gave it back and proceeded to tell me that I should feel bad for not paying or following up. Absolutely disgusting business practice and a literal attempt to steal my watch. Could not emphasize more that you should never ever go here for anything if they handle customers like they did with me. Wish I could give them negative stars but 1 is as low as I can go. Further update, THE WATCH WASNT EVEN FIXED. Still broken and doesn't work. He was trying to charge for a service that wasnt even done. read more

They were even kind enough to drop off our ring to our home as we lived a bit far from their store and had two young children. read more

I was SHOCKED by the bad reviews here. Renee is the best of the best, she's been doing this for 39 years, her husband was the mayor of the circle. I was referred to her by TIFFANYS & CO. They wouldn't do any work on rings that were not Tiffany's, so they would not touch my inherited ring. After consultation with Renee and Perry, I bought my wedding bands here, engagement ring, and have had two other pieces done. Every time I've stopped by, I end up in there for hours. its the kind of place that makes the orange circle special. stop in, say hi, browse around, and you will fall in love with Renee, Perry and whoever else happens to be hanging out. :) read more

Renee & Denny are a real treasure! They make you feel like family and Perry does all of the repairs and manufactures custom jewelry as well. I have always had pleasant and completely satisfactory workmanship over 10 years in going there. I especially love their window displays that reflect every holiday and if they don't have what you need in the shop they can always order it for you. Its a true treasure of Old Town and I think they have been there for over 40 years so they are truly "old School"! read more

Just a tip- you might want to call before you try to stop by this place as I had the hardest time trying to go there to get something fixed that I finally gave up and went somewhere else. I went at least three or four separate times, in separate weeks, each time during business hours. One of the times there was a note on the door saying they would return at 1, so I came back at 1 and then there was a NEW note on the door saying that they were taking the rest of the day off and would reopen tomorrow..... Another time they were supposed to be open at 11am and I came by at 11.05 and no one was there....I gave up. So, sadly I can't rate their services since they were never open to render them.... Make sure you call them first and ensure your trip there won't be for nothing. (Also, I can't just post something without giving it a rating- Yelp won't allow it- and since I never experienced their service I didn't want to give it just 1 star...so here's 2.) read more

at first i was kinda of skeptical about coming here, from reading some of the reviews, but thought i should try them out because i had 2 friends who had great experiences w/renee. boy, am i glad i did!! i needed my engagement and wedding rings re-sized due to weight loss and i had called around a bunch of different places for price ranges and renee gave me a quote of HALF of the other jewelers! she's incredibly nice and i would definitely come back for any jewelry fixing needs! My fiancee has a vintage engagement ring that we were trying to find a "Contoured" wedding band that would match. Not an easy task. At Renee's we found not one, but two, very knowledgable people in the person of Renee and Perry. They looked through the inventory and found 1 band that would fit if some very detailed work was done first. When Perry was finished, we had the perfect wedding band that matched up perfectly!!! While we were in the store, we were also engaged is very friendly conversation as they educated us on the finer points about the jewelry we were looking at. Sandy - Nov 13, 2011 I am so happy that I found a jewelry store that I feel at home with! Renee is a welcoming lady with a heart of gold. My fiance and I walked into Rennee's, as we were looking for wedding rings. Immediately we knew that we found all we were looking for. Yes we bought the perfect wedding ring. We returned the next day with my antique diamond ring! I felt so comfortable that I left my diamond ring, that was left to me 20 years ago from my grandmother, to be repaired. I have not been able to wear this ring for close to 15 years because the platinum on the band somehow split. I have not felt comfortable leaving my ring with anyone before! I am so very happy that we found Renee! We talked to Perry, and he assured me he could repair it. Yesterday when we went to pick it up...well I got tears in my eyes! It is even more beautiful now! Perry did an amazing job cleaning and repairing the ring that is so dear to me. I now consider Reneeand Perry my friends! When we are in the area we will stop in to say hi and have a cup of coffee!
