I do not recommend Watch Wears in Orange, CA based on my personal experience. In 2013, I purchased a yellow diamond ring surrounded by white diamonds for a significant amount of money. It came with an appraisal stating a value of $14,000. Shortly after, I returned to have the ring resized and was told they also buy gold and jewelry. I brought in additional items and was given store credit. Later, I returned to use the remaining credit and was told by the owner that I had no credit left and would have to pay again. There was no clear record provided, no transparency, and no effort to resolve the discrepancy. I was essentially told the credit didn't exist anymore, and I had no documentation to challenge it at the time. In 2026, I scheduled an appointment to sell the same ring back to them. I clearly stated on the phone that I was bringing in a ring originally purchased from their store. When I arrived, they inspected it along with the appraisal, then told me they were not buying diamonds due to market conditions and lab-grown diamonds affecting resale value. This should have been communicated when I made the appointment. Instead, I wasted time going in for a meeting that should never have been scheduled. Overall, my experience with this business has been inconsistent, poorly communicated, and unprofessional. While they do carry attractive jewelry, I personally do not trust their business practices or transparency. read more

Most recently, I brought in my grandmother's earrings to be converted from clip-ons to posts, and they did a stunning job. You can tell everything has been hand-picked with love and displayed in a way that just takes your breath away. Really didn't want to write this review because they are a small business and have such positive reviews but my experience was HORRIBLE. We were looking to sell an Hermes Birkin bag and their website says that they buy them so we called and were told that we had to submit a form through their website to set up an appointment. We went to their website (which is terrible and not well formatted), we filled out the form and waited. A few days went by and we heard nothing, didn't get a confirmation email from their form, and so I decided to reach out. A girl picked up the phone and was very polite and confirmed that they got the form but that they were backed up and were currently appointment only. That they were short staffed because of COVID and hadn't hired new people (not really sure that is a viable excuse anymore at this point), but that someone would get back to us by that coming Saturday (about 3 days from when I called). Saturday came and went, no call. I called again on Monday to ask again if they would be getting back to me and the same girl apologized again and said yes and I verified that even if they weren't interested that they would give me a call and she confirmed. It has been almost 3 weeks and they haven't called or emailed. It is incredibly unprofessional and really terrible customer service. If you aren't getting forms from your website or proper notifications get a new CRM/ERP software, especially if you are going to rely on it and force people to use it when they call you. read more

I recently brought in a Corum gold coin and ladies Rolex watch for service, repair, and a cost estimate for resale of the Rolex. Due to a misunderstanding, the Rolex was completed first, the Corum waiting for my authorization to proceed. It was a bit of a shock to accept the Rolex early, as we all have a budget. Senior associate Linh immediately accepted responsibility for the mistaken order placement. She waived all expenses incurred. She returned it to me in better working and visual condition than initial turn in. No excuses, just results. I've also received my Corum with a new leather band, also operating at "top notch." The one year warranty is very much appreciated, but it's the integrity that matters. My fiance bought my one of a kind 1920s engagement ring at Watch and Wares. As someone who loves jewelry and collects antique jewelry, I sincerely appreciate the quality of Watch and Wares inventory. The jewelry at Watch and Wares is top notch I searched online for months trying to find the perfect 1920s art deco engagement ring and easily looked at over 1,000 rings. But there was always something missing - availability, quality, authenticity or the price was not right. In early March I stopped in the shop to look at one of the rings I saw on their website. I was helped by William, the owner, who genuinely cares about each of his customers. After leaving in great spirits I brought my fiance back to look at the ring about a week later. William was not in that day, but his staff was more than welcoming and helpful. I personally gave my fiance multiple ring options, but not one ring came close to the one at Watch and Wares (my now engagement ring). I thought my ring was out of our budget, and it was no longer an option. But William and his staff worked with my fiance and five months late he proposed in Bruges, Belgium. I dropped my vintage Tissot and the seconds hand fell off. I was unsure if the watch would work properly again or keep time correctly. I had already went to two watch repair shops and they both told me I would need to source a replacement movement before they could even begin working on it. Finding a replacement Tissot 786-2 movement is almost impossible for this watch without buying a different working watch and stripping it for its movement (I could never desecrate a working vintage Tissot!). I came here as a last ditch effort before selling this watch for parts. The shop owner promptly addressed me, asked what was wrong, and immediately took my Tissot to his workbench. Within 15 minutes, he returned the watch to me fully assembled and working! No replacement movement needed. He was able to assess that the movement was unaffected from the drop, reattach the seconds hand, test that it was keeping time, and return it to me. His experience with vintage watches allowed him to make this decision, without needing me to supply my own parts to 'be safe' and keep the liability on the customer. He guaranteed his work with a warranty, and the price was more than fair. For the cost of a normal lunch, my 1960s Tissot was back in business and keeping time! Got to love Swiss watches. read more
