I move in here in March, the property management is horrible. With the housing shortage we didn't have much choice in finding a place to rent, especially with a dog. We are renting a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, and it's pretty nice. The one star is for the management alone. The first month we didn't have enough water pressure to even take a shower, the water is extremely hard here. When we moved in we noticed the upstairs bathroom smells like piss and it is disgusting. We still are not able to use this bathroom because of the smell, so we are paying a ridiculous amount of rent and can't even use one of our bathrooms. Our emails are ignored. Can't ever get a hold of anyone in person. Also the people we share a wall with smoke pot and I'm tired of smelling it multiple times a day. read more

We've had nothing but a pleasant experience with ReNew Atascadero. Every repair we've needed has been taken care of quickly without question and the staff (shout out to Heather and Mario) have been informative, friendly and professional. ReNew has done a great job with trying to implement more community involvement as well (Halloween events, pancake breakfasts) which has been a pleasant addition. My wife and I had no problems with this property management company and would recommend it to our friends. read more

As a longtime tenant and very recent change in Property Management; sadly I do not recommend this rental property. The previous Property Managers were always informative, professional, and in our personal experience approachable and accommodating. The recent property managers of whom have renamed the property to 'Renew Atascadero' have been not communicative in a professional manner and very aloof to their tenants needs. read more

I reported having ants in my apartment over a month ago. I have since placed several work orders and notified that the problem was getting worse, store bought ant spray isnt helping. I now have ants in all of my food including my breast milk and on my baby bottles. Management has not helped one bit. I cannot continue to afford replacing my food or lose anymore breast milk to ants. Font waste your money and time renting here. read more

I love everything! Love seeing everyone and their pooches on walks, neighbors are so friendly and the property manager, Heather, is amazing!!! Cant say enough good things about her! Also, they are always doing fun nights and events so that you actually get to meet your neighbors. The pool/cabana area is the perfect size and totally my happy place. Any maintenance upkeep that needed to be done was taken care of within a day of requesting. Plus, just in the house, there is a wonderful kitchen, more storage area than we can fill, and big, beautiful closets and bathtubs, perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day. Plus, winning their latest raffle (wine and cheese board) and "resident of the month" felt amazing as well. Thank you for the amazing place to live! read more

Enjoyed living here while South Side villas ran the place, now it's just run down with people who can't afford the rent so they rent rooms off of eachother. Neighbors and dogs are so loud you can hardly sleep at night, they slam doors all night long, even some of my plates fell off the shelving. Horribly managed! read more

I haven't had a bad experience with ReNew Atascadero formerly know as Southside Villas. Southside Villas on the other hand wasn't my cup of tea. The new management is very friendly, listens to my concerns, questions, complaints if any regarding noisy neighbors, parking, etc. Heather is very sympathetic towards any issues in the community and has resolved mine very quickly. I'm happy to see someone in the office instead of waiting for a phone call, email or having to drive to the SLO or Paso location with the previous management regarding a complaint, concern or question. Sure no one likes changes, but the new property management has tried to make them as quick and as painless as possible -- so kudos to them! read more

The location is great because we are only 10 minutes away from SLO and Paso. The new management team has really started to make improvements around the property. Heather and Mario have been really helpful and have helped us whenever we needed anything. read more

If you'd like to experience retaliation and have people walk into your home while you are naked in the shower, then move here. So much for the anonymity of yelp and the integrity of management. Anyone else notice that the positive votes on yelp for renew have come from Heather R. ("Property manager") and her husband?? If you'd like the TRUTH, ask. There are so many tenant violations here and attitude from the incompetent staff it is absurd. If you want to be patronized, greeted with excuses & lies, then Renew is for you. As for me? I'll stick to above board humans who have the skill set and integrity to perform the job at hand, and perform it well. While this property looks decent on the outside, a poorly executed coat of paint on one side of the fence (which was only painted on one side, not the tenant facing side, with no taping done, so drips of dark brown paint were left strewn about the patios), paint cannot cover the damage that these buildings face in reality. After moving in reluctantly, knowing this is just a temporary stop while our final home is being prepared, we have had non-stop headaches from the incredibly incompetent staff at Renew. It is clear that the property manager, Heather, is inexperienced and green in role. We initially chose this location based on overall positive feedback around the experience that others we know whom have chosen to rent at other facilities managed by the same company, have shared with us, but were quickly disappointed by Heather's lack of attention to detail, meaningless drawn out communication, and having our initial move in date pushed back 3 times. We moved forward despite this experience because the feedback we had received had been so positive overall. The day we moved in, with no proper walk through with management, we moved into a filthy space with dead flies inside the dishwasher, hairs plastered all over the walls, and a broken mirrored closet door. Since then, we have had appliances break, water heaters burst, leaks and lack of proper inspection, to name just a few, in the very short time we have been here. Things happen, and while much of this could have been avoided with a proactive management team, it is the incompetence of the management team, the poor communication and grammar, lack of attention to detail and follow-through, half a**ed repairs, and attitude when we are unable to accommodate a less than 24 hour repair notice, that are the reason we are taking time for this review. Our tenant rights have been violated numerous times, and if this continues with no action taken to rectify the issue at hand and the poor management on site, we will have no issue taking legal action, and have simply not done so at this point in order to give Heather the benefit of the doubt...perhaps she doesn't have the support she needs to be effective in role... We are bombarded by solicitation from both third parties and the property staff, the "community events" have been a total joke, we are not told about important things, such as strange men coming on site to paint and staring into windows, and then over communicated to about the things management believes will paint them in a good light (i.e. community BBQ). We have had things damaged, moved, and left a disgusting and unacceptable mess each time we've had maintenance on site, including the time yard work was done, without our knowledge, and piles of dirt were left covering our entire walkway until we were forced to move it ourself. While we appreciate efforts to improve things through the replacement of toilets and shower heads, this was again not communicated to us, and our own work was missed to accommodate this need (we cannot trust this team or anyone they employee to be on site alone following the damage, mess, and missing things we've experienced and witnessed). Both times in these cases, either tools, equipment, or the old toilet and shower pieces were left behind, and failed to be picked up following our communication. We STILL do not receive communication the way we selected as our primary source of communication, and Heather has reset our portal twice incorrectly now, in an attempt to resolve something on her end, not ours. I am personally still not receiving any communication from Heather, despite being the primary tenant and selected main source of communication. We knew moving from our beach front home to the valley would be a challenge on its own, which is why we chose a place boasting "luxury living". Unfortunately, it has ended up being an experience we are eager to escape. As a long time business owner and leader, I can safely say you are only as strong as your weakest link, and this is a gigantic weak link. I know Heather moved here from out of state, so perhaps she is unfamiliar with California property and tenant law, but that fails to explain the significant gap in communication skills and leadership competencies. We sincerely hope this team receives the support and training need. read more

It seems to me that this new management doesn't have a clue of what they are doing. When it was managed by south side villa's I never had an issue with them, but ever since ReNew was taking over the the management has been horrible. This community has a terrible property management they harass you and make your life difficult. These people literally talk you where to put your belongings in your own home especially with the cost of rent and what people pay there is ridiculous one of the property mangment employees lives there and she has gone around and "managed" to stir things up and bother people when they have done nothing wrong, not to mention I do believe by law there is supposed to be at least a 24hr notice for anything that happens to your property to going into your home they have towed peoples vehicles away with no notice and have gone into peoples homes and taken their belongings and disposed of them with no notice. Also I do believe if you are part of a property management you have to give a 48hr notice to enter someone's home which they also just show up and go in with no communication to the residents of these homes..... with this being said these people will not let you live comfortably or in peace my recommendation is to not live there and not have to deal with the baffling rudeness they tend to give people and the lack of information and help with things when needed. Anyone who decides to move there I wish you the very best of luck and hope you see it sooner than later. read more
