Make no mistake, Renewal By Andersen is the high price provider in premium window replacement. After having been approached by a young man who knocked on our door and said RBA was doing extensive work in our townhome community and could offer "tremendous volume discounts" we agreed to make an appointment even though we knew his promise to be complete BS. Fast forward a week and for a full three hours on a Wednesday night he delivered an exhaustive history of RBA and their "proprietary" products worthy of a Talmudic scholar. You know what's coming when the magic heat loss meter produces a doleful look on the reps face right out of a Hollywood casting call. So we asked to have him price out three badly condensated windows and a patio door. With a straight face he quoted an artery busting $13k with various sign now incentives that would bring the price down by just under $2k. I should have called my cardiologist but politely informed him that the estimate was sky high and I didn't want to be locked into RBA if other windows need to be replaced in the future. You never saw anyone pack up and leave in such a hurry. Since that evening, other contractors have come in with Andersen product for about 50% of RBAs sign now price. In condo communities most residents are transient and don't stay longer than four or five years on average. As such, I'm not going to invest premium dollars in an improvement that won't deliver substantial ROI when we sell. I am sure Renewal By Andersen would have done a very professional job but by all means do your homework and really see if their high-end value proposition will work for you. read more

Just completed A full window replacement, 25 in all, and couldn't be happier with the results. Installers were pros and made sure I was comfortable the entire time with their plan and how they progressed. We discussed their concept for replacing a custom window and they executed that perfectly. Complete cleanup and take away all materials, nothing left but footprints on the lawn. I had them come to my house because I had water issues on a pre existing window the sales person promised me the world the sub contractor they hired to install there product failed to tell me that installing a replacement window wouldn't solve my problem so here we go 5 years later my walls about to cave in. I call them thinking they Would help me ..... they send a guy over to basically tell me its not there problem . They instal a window on water damaged framing fail to notify me or give me the chance to replace the damaged frame work. I feel taken advantage of . And this quote included the supposed "Buy One, Get One Free" promotion. What they say: "Some home improvement companies might hand you a messy, handwritten estimate that's more of a guesstimate. We had a screen door installed by RBA about five years ago. Since then we have had three different issues with the door. The latest issue, a simple weather stripping that has gone awry, has required three different visits and a commitment of twelve hours of my time that had to be set aside for their visiting window. It still isn't fixed. I will never use this company again. They are horrible. read more

Well worth the cost. Yes the sales pitch is canned, but I can appreciate that. If the salesman just came in and said it was "x" amount of dollars, I probably would have asked him to leave. Take the time to listen people! The work was second to none...period. They arrived on time and finished a bay window, eight for sliding door and two windows in one day. The fit and finish is perfect and the warranty is the best there is. The last Windows I had done went in wrong and when it came time for warranty, the window company blamed the contractor who in turn blamed the window company. We got screwed. That's the beauty of RBA. Had a quote for one window to be replaced. Sales guy came on time and gave me a quote for one window at $5,000.00. With a discount the final bill was $3750.00. I honestly thought that was for all the windows in the house which he insisted on measuring. No that was for one normal size bedroom window. Thant is crazy when in fact I got another price for $350.00. The quote for the entire home (only 6 windows) was $42,000.00. The weird thing was the sales pitch of one of our neighbors is using them for their 10 window home for $24K . Their product might be a little better design but when it comes down to it I want to see through my wall and glass is glass and most frames are composite or vinyl, Not gold, There is only two types of glass all companies use and they are only a 16th of an inch difference. Avoid like a plaque. Instead, use a local contractor who does design, measurement, and installation HIMSELF. Took them 5 months to get the window built. Then found out that measurement was off, re-ordered. Another 2 months... Installed the window, finally! Now they found that they ordered full-window screen. All other windows in my house use half-window screens. Now I have to wait 3 months more for the right screen to be manufactured and delivered. The sales presentation is too long, 90 minutes to tell me " we treat customers nice" and " we have been around a long time" to then walk around my house while I watch an awful promo video and tell me I need to replace windows. This review is for who ever covers Manalapan, NJ. I called to get a quote. The rep was supposed to come to the house but because of a storm, he decided to meet virtually. No problem, I completely understand. We went through the various options, selected what we liked, and then he quoted us. The quote seemed way too high. So I figure we can negotiate. He goes high, I go low, we meet somewhere in the middle. Done deal. Nope. No negotiating. He wouldn't go down on the price at all, just offered to take away or change some things to make the door cheaper. He asked me what I was looking to spend, so I low balled him. I worked in sales, I know that question is a trap. It was all down hill after that. Anytime I asked what else we could do to get the price down, he wouldn't answer my question, all he would say is, "I don't have any doors that cheap." Okay then, so what can we do? He still wouldn't answer my question. Same response, "I don't have doors that cheap" We did this about 4 times. Then he said his cheapest door was $3k. Which was way higher than what we were just quoted. So he basically just jacked up the price on us to be a jerk. Okay. Conversation over now. Have a nice day. Got a couple of other quotes and it turns out Anderson was more expensive but not by much. So I figured I'll spend a little extra and go with Anderson, a known company. I called the main number, left a message, no call back. Got a flyer in the mail from Anderson about a sale, called again to see if that sale would affect my quote, no call back. I ended up going to Home Depot. Picked out the front door and storm door that I wanted. Got the quote with installation. Basically the same price of Anderson. Got my door installed and they did a fantastic job. Couldn't be happier. I would have used Anderson, if the rep would have called me back. But no call back, so I took my business else where. It must be nice to be able to pick and choose your business. If I couldn't get a call back for a sale, imagine trying to get repair done under warranty. Yikes! read more

They are currently installing the wrong windows as I type. I've asked multiple times for a manager to give me a call or to give me the phone number for me to call myself. The sales department said that the installers took the wrong windows. The installment department said that the wrong windows were ordered. Either way the wrong windows are being installed and it looks like Anderson is only interested in passing the blame. I am still waiting for the solution. The commercials that state "no middle man" are completely wrong. The installers are middle men and told me to take it up with Anderson myself. Okay where do I start. I called RBW because my parents had work done recently (I would say within the last year or two). I also got a flyer in the mail, which prompted me to call, because it mentioned a discount. I set up the appointment thinking it would only take 45 minutes at most. Ive had 2 other estimates and they were in and out within that time frame. Well, the guy was here for 3 hours. When my husband called me after work at 9 30 at night he was shocked to hear the salesman that arrived at 6 30 was still here. I was a little annoyed because I did not even get to eat dinner or put my baby to bed. It was strange. The salesman was nice, and he was just doing his job. I have no issue with the person in that position himself, but the whole ordeal was a big production, and its not something I care to sit through because I have a lot to take care of with a baby and being home by myself most of the time. So dude did his whole presentation- I was starving, baby was crying and had little to no attention from me bc I was babysitting the salesman with his 20 suitcases of window samples and heat guns and all that crap. What shocked me was the prices... and the "discounted prices". Im sorry, but 10k for a door and screen door is sick. I got an estimate for 2 doors, a screen door, and 4 windows- would have come to 25k... LOL like no...Im just gunna go ahead and put another down payment on a house for that. My parents paid around 11k for 1 door, screen door, and two huge windows in the front. Why was my estimate insane? So like.... I don't care if your doors are made of gold and decorated in diamonds... that was ridiculous.. and so were like 30 follow up phone calls and emails. I legit lost half of my soul that day, right there at my dining room table, starving and tired nonetheless. Where do I begin, ordered windows in Aug, installer arrives Oct with two windows, one is fine, the picture window short 3 inches. Waited until Jan for new window. They never called to confirm, but did hv a date and time of 12-2. Installer showed up at 8am, not his fault, just would hv been nice to know. Well, I didn't realize it, and neither did installer, but noticed an hr later, the sash/sliders had the wrong pattern on top, so does not match the other window installed in Oct.. Installer said no big deal to switch them out, but would have to wait. I have yet to hear from RBA, and that was Jan 6. The job is not complete, agreement was no further pymt due, but was charged anyway. I have 5 more windows to do, but not with them. Installers were great, but RBA has a lot to be said about their incompetance to get an order right. read more

Don't be fooled! Poor Customer service and follow through!!!!! Consultation reps were pleasant to my elderly mom and won her trust and installation time frame was promised.... after signing on the dotted line it went down hill. Not only was the installation delayed for various supply reasons that 'suddenly' came up, but the office failed to communicate the updates we requested - each person my elderly mother spoke to gave her conflicting information. Finally the installation happened and the laborers were respectful and thorough but a screen was damaged. They reported the damage and scheduled a replacement.....we've been waiting to open these new windows SINCE APRIL because they have still yet to repair the damaged screen. Customer service is terrible and an elderly woman still is getting the runaround. We replaced windows that couldn't open easily to only spend lots of money to still have a window that can't open. read more

Terrible window quality. half of the ones I had installed are super hard to open and almost all of them the locks for them are garbage. one window instead of locking it just creates a space between the two panes, another the lever for the lock broke on the second use, and that's just two of them. i would absolutely not recommend these windows to ANYONE and I'm highly disappointed in what I received. In addition to all of this I am still receiving things in the mail from this company about the "great deals" they have and I'm left here wondering where these were when I was in the market for windows. A representative was supposed to show up on May 19th and called with a 'family emergency' at the last minute - understandable. We were then contacted by a 'male' who made an appointment for tonight, June 1, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., I called the number where they were shocked as no appointment had been made on their part (yet I had their contact number). How, in God's name, do these people make any money and why on earth would I continue to do business with them? Duh, I will not and neither should you!! read more

I called Renewal by Andersen for an estimate quote. When I spoke to the individual scheduling the appointment, I made sure I told them, it was just an estimate for a sliding door and a bedroom window. Never during my call did the individual told me that when their consultant would come to the house that I had to make a decision on purchasing and/or signing a contract. On the day of consultation, the consultant was late, but I did receive a text and a call regarding the late arrival. That did not bother as I expected a late arrival due to the traffic. Finally the consultant arrived, both my husband and I were home. The consultant proceeds to ask us some questions, we lead him to the sliding door and his questions regarding what would his installer find behind the walls. Well that was perplexing as both my husband and I do not have x-ray vision. We asked it him why did it matter and he proceeds to tell us that should there be rotting behind the walls, that they (the installer) could not handle that type of work. So let's take a moment here ... we know Andersen is one of the best windows out there (I say one for now, but I am sure there are others). We also know their parts and labor are pricey. If we as a consumer are investing all this money (which btw I have not gotten into yet), then why is it that they do not have the right amount of installers that could handle not only installation but in the event there is some wood rotting, that they could also help solve the problem. Next thing to mention is that when sending over a consultant, they should look at what the work that the consumer/customer is seeking a quote on and not fuss over things that the consumer/customer did not ask for. After the consultant checked the bedroom window, he proceeded to tell us what it would eventually cost and that he was "working" with us on the price. This is where I think that put the nail on the wall, the "well this is the price for today, so if you don't decide today, I cannot guarantee you this will be the same tomorrow or any other day". I don't know about you, but when I call businesses for a quote, I don't expect to make a decision right then and there when all I asked for was an estimated quote. Had I known before I made the appointment that both me and my husband had to say yes or or no, I would not have had them come to my house. I am sure the consultant was "annoyed" with us, but at the end of the day, the presentation and the lack of communication is what made us decide not to go with this company. My only suggestion to this company is that do not ASSume when a potential client is calling for an estimate that said potential client will be signing on the dotted line the day the consultant shows up, but more specifically if said potential client decides to sleep on it, if a price is quoted on the day consultation, then that same price should remain the same if the potential client calls the next day. Requested a quote and was told the appointment would take 90 minutes. The sales rep was there for 3 hours and their sales tactics are highly aggressive. Rep claimed there was a 25% discount available but it was only valid on that visit to pressure a sale when he hadn't even brought a sample. Claimed this was only valid on the first visit 'due to COVID' and only left after I had to tell him multiple times we were done and requested to wrap up. Recieved a call from another rep the next day who was also aggressive and lied about the terms of the discounts. Essentially lived up to all the negative stereotypes of the industry. read more

Had appointment with specialist to check my windows. The salesperson was knowledgable and nice in the beginning. Caught him on a few lies for example anderson not selling any vinyl windows, saying some bad things about triple pane and saying only fibrex is used for replacement windows. And the end I told him the price was too expensive, around 2k per window for double hung. When I told him no he got very mad and gave an attitude. My installation experience with Anderson windows was horrendous. The sales person Gregory Edelson promised us many things when signing the deal. Once we started having issues with installation, it was like "it's not in the contract" though verbally it was promised to us. So people please read the contract thoroughly and not take the sales person's word for it. They will rush you and offer a "deal" if you sign on the spot but then they screw you later with the fine print. They have you sign on the iPad so your restricted on review the lengthy contract. I was promised the installation was going to take 2 days. It took 3 days to install all but 1 window and after 1.5 weeks another 3 days to install the last window and wasn't informed till the last minute, so it caused stressed at my workplace to be able to take the day off last minute (literally the day before). In total the whole process from start to finish took 14 days. Then a month later they had to come back and replace the incorrect hardware they provided initially. I documented everything by e-mail or else it would be he said, she said. I was told I would be compensated for the inconvenience of having an installation date canceled last minute. Before the installation Greg the sales guy would call and check in. When we were having issues, he stopped calling and best part I was told I am overreacting and my emotions are high because I am pregnant! So in other words my complaints wasn't taken seriously because I am pregnant. The whole experience was stressful and not something I wanted to deal with in my pregnancy. They sent the installation manager, Ed Costa who came one day and helped correct some issues was helpful but after that visit was unreachable after he told us to call him if we had any questions. After several calls and text messages, we never received a response from him. When my husband called Gregory to state his concerns and that this is not what we paid for, that we paid so much money for 5 star service and that is not what we expected. If that was the case, we would not have invested so much money on it. My husband called Gregory to state his concerns, the line dropped and that is the last we heard from him. He promised us compensation for the inconvenience but we never heard back from him on that. I can write a book on my experience and I have a timeline and e-mails of all conversations and activity that occurred. I really wish I did more research and spoke to other clients before going with Anderson. Quite frankly, we feel like we invested so much money for nothing. We could have spent much this if this is the service we were going to get. Several people have asked me (3 of who were looking to get new windows), I told them not to bother, the windows look good but the process, investment and the team you have to deal with is not worth it. They should look into Home Depot or Pella windows and it will cost much less!!! We made a huge mistake by trusting Anderson. I have to give credit where credit is due, Jamie Pinckey tried to help and resolve as many concerns as possible.
