Just a heads up for those that need window, door replacement, if you have a manufactured home single or double, they cannot help you. Even though manufactured homes these days look like modulers or stick built homes, their still consider the old metal mobile homes and are not real homes....Anderson will not help you. Our sliding doors are done and when they finally came, the work was completed on time. The job was more complicated as the crew had to cut a larger opening in the side of my house requiring siding modification and installation of a header. The crew was organized, clean, polite and fast. It's been about a year now the doors work perfectly. Renewal, once they focus, does a great job but you pay for what you get. Very happy with the doors and the windows I had installed about a year earlier. read more

I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own house. I made the mistake of allowing renewals salesman into my home. Please allow me to be specific. I purchased a foreclosure property which I gutted. Two windows were broken, requiring replacement. I called Renewal by Anderson as ansderson windows are known to be of good quality. When the salesman came out the house was a mess, no furniture, bare walls and no inside trim. After quoting me an insanely high price for replacement windows I stated it was not within my budget and thanked him for his time. This is when the issues began. The salesman continued to read his script repeating "I can tell you value quality", and "looking around I can see you want quality". Again, the house was a construction zone! I laughed and said no thank you. The salesman refused to leave! Claiming he needed to "shut down" his computer program before leaving... he then proceeded to make phone calls to his so-called supervisor in order to "help me out on price". Two calls were placed as he pretended to have issues shutting down his lap top. This resulted in 3 different prices for the job, all while being extremely pushy especially regarding financing through them. I continued to say "no", "I have to think about it", "I need to get other quotes (which was followed up with him stating that Anderson was the best, and that there was no other reason to get additional quotes). I ended up walking away from him, leaving him sitting in my kitchen alone as I pretend to be busy in another room. I could not wait for him to leave, and when I was finally at my breaking point he got the message and left. To say that this company is arrogant and unprofessional is an understatement. Do not fall for their slimy snake oil salesman tactics. They will feed you lines all clinging to the Anderson name in order to hook you on their so called quality. Shop around, he smart and do not let them push you and your family around. I have to agree with everyone else here. Our first appointment was canceled 20 minutes before the representative was to arrive. The representative asked us to lie to his company about when he was going to come to our home. The representative became very defensive if you asked any questions. Accused us of being angry with him when all we wanted was answers to our questions. They don't listen, just talk and they want you to sign the contract immediately. This specific company "Huff and Puff" who installs Renewal by Andersen were not customer service oriented. Andersen has beautiful windows but will look for a different company. We had a front door installation in June. We paid in full, $11.000+. We were promised a high quality door.The installation was a disastrous experience. The front door is below the quality expected. It come with missing parts and it sustained more damages during the installation. The installer had an unprofessional behavior, was aggressive and had refused to take into consideration the issues that we pointed out. We have pictures and videos to document all of the above. They came for a second appointment in July, after numerous emails and phone calls. Instead to fix the problems, they created one more by removing the glue on weather strips because they "needed to be replaced". We had a third visit on 8/21. They left the front door in an even worse condition. After stripping the door frame to bare wood, the installer realized that he has the wrong color replacement parts (clads and Z-bars). He had to drive back to the Middletown shop and brought back black clads (mate metal) that do not match the rest of the door. He had to install them because other wise, the door would have been left in the bear wood condition. He was not able to find any Z-Bars and no glue on weatherstrips. It top of all the above, they never supplied a second door closer that was specifically required and paid for. We strongly suggest that people should not do business with this company. They are money driven with no respect for their customers. They are unprofessional, their installers are incapable to be up to the Company's PR standards advertised and promoted during the sale. STAY AWAY from Renewal by Andersen - Middletown if you want to keep your sanity. UPDATE: Changed from 5 to 1 stars. I have been paying for my window since last August and ca not get a final bill/statement showing what we purchased. We did make changes in the window, style & size. We were given a discount of less than $700 for a window that is now 1/2 -2 feet smaller and has 3 windows instead of 5. They don't seem to want to show us any prices and now gave us a different sales Rep (he said manager) that refused to return any calls. The manager has already cancelled 1 appt and changed the time on another one. Waiting to see if he even shows or calls for today's appt. (3/29/17). Again our time as moved becaue of another issue, we seem to be he ones that don't matter. The window installers, Kevin & Bill are by far the best installers we have ever had working on our home. Because of a miscommunication/misunderstanding with the term "trim color" (we expected the trim to be the material around the window itself and the remainder the window frame) Kevin & Bill came back and reinstalled/changed the "trim" or frame of the window, as we called it, from Green to white. The window is now white with green only around the glass sections which is beautiful. These 2 gentlemen were not only excellent installers, they were also understanding and could not argue that the window had been a blob of green with no visual appeal. Our dissatisfaction is with the Management and Office, not the installers. Lack of communication caused us to sit home all day waiting for them to arrive. We were scheduled as the first appointment of the day, between 9 and 9:30 am but no one showed. WE called the office only to be told they were tied up with a problem elsewhere (made us feel like valued customers). With the second appt. we learned and began calling when they were 2-3 hrs late and were finally informed they needed to cancel. We cancelled the 3rd appt with over 36 hours notice and they showed that day. There was an error with the grid color on 2 of our windows. I am still waiting on the replacement grids. What they Sales Reps need are computer generated programs to show you what your window would look like. It was extremely hard to visualize a new window. He never went over prices never asked what budget or grade door we were looking for. he only asked what style we liked. I was quoted 29K dollars for two doors and two windows. when i saw that qoute i laughed and said,"I could buy a car for that price". he responded with these are quality doors. i laughed and when he said you have any promotion that came in mail. i said no. Renewal by Andersen/Huff n Puff out of Fishkill has horrible customer service. The only reason they received one star is because the windows are beautiful. The initial consultation and install went just fine. Unfortunately, there were a few minor issues that could've been resolved in one day that ended up taking two months of me hounding them to address. Not all of the issues were even fixed. I eventually gave up. I was actually talked down to by a manager for something his own employee did wrong, not me. I expected an apology after informing him of the mistake and never received one. I also attempted to contact a supposed Vice President and never heard from him. I would love to recommend these windows because they really do look great. However, do not go to the Fishkill/Hudson Valley office. If you end up having any issues you'll regret spending all that money to deal with bottom barrel representatives. read more

34 windows in our home were replaced shortly after we moved in. The windows are wonderful; we chose a modified prairie look on the front and side of the house and clear windows in the backyard. This gives a modern look to our home. The modified prairie window allows us a larger view outside with little obstruction and the backyard windows allow us a clear look to the yard. Everyone who worked on the project was interested in the part they played in completing this large job. The windows are easy to operate - opening, closing and tilting to clean. The insulation eliminated all drafts we had before. Not the smallest bug gets into the house. We chose the TruScene Insect Screens which provide a much clearer view outside than a traditional window screen would. Renewal by Anderson The worst company I have dealt with. They installed the wrong patio door. I ordered a double hinged patio door and they installed a single hinge. When I called as the work was going on they said thats the door we ordered and we can't do anything for you. I called the Middletown office for five days to talk with the manager CHRIS and the only person who they had call me back is the salesman Matt who said his hands are tied. I am still waiting for them to Email a copy of the contract the one I have only shows the price. I originally has a single hindged door 14 years old and they replaced it with the same type of door. Purchased my beautiful windows a year ago. Everything is great. Also purchased a sliding glass door. Hasn't worked right in over 7 months. The guys came out twice and still the door is hard to open. They don't call you back in a timely manner. I'm sure the door will be fine but these people need to learn how to call back. The windows are great second to none. The installers were friendly and professional. Did a great job. Possibly the repair guy is new at repairing glass doors. read more
