We met with Renewal by Andersen for a consultation after our friends had their windows done and were extremely happy. It was such a pleasant experience during the consultation. The sales rep Sam was very professional and not pushy at all. He really took his time explaining the window, company, and the installation process. I should have pulled the plug on Renewal by Andersen when the first salesperson stood me up, then lied and said she came to my home but no one was there. I had left work early and waited two hours, for nothing. But no, I fell for the line of the second salesman, Gary. To say there is poor communication between the company, the customer and the installers is an understatement....I was never told what to do to prepare for the installation, but I was told not to worry about moving heavy furniture because the installers would do it. When they arrived, they threatened to leave because none of the furniture was moved. The foreman kept repeating that "it's all on the yellow paper the company gave you," except I was never given a yellow paper! Only my frantic phone calls to the company got them to stay and start the job. We were never told which rooms they were doing in what order. Suffice to say, you need to move EVERYTHING from every room for the first day no matter how long the job will take. Then they come at you with confusing paperwork when they're done installing. If you ask questions, they blame their finance company. If you don't sign it right away and point out that it makes no sense, the harassment starts...constant phone calls and emails. The windows are nice, but not as heavy as what I was shown by Gary. Worst of all, I found out too late that the screens are not attached - they go on with clips, and if you're not careful, they will fall right out of the window. I have not seen window screens like this for over 50 years! No one showed me how they tilt in for cleaning, either....it's winter and I haven't tried yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't tilt. They are also VERY expensive. Disappointing Customer Service The quality of the windows are great and the installation was excellent. We added a kitchen window which had to have a permit which we applied for. The inspector came when the project started to check. A year later we just received a letter from the town that the permit was not closed and we have to reapply. Have called 8 times to the office and no one returns our calls, so that's why I reviewing this company. read more

Such a tool! A typical sales person! First he came in late and stayed way too long passed dinner time. I asked him up front if we have to make decision or not. He confidently said no. I let my husband went thru the pain siting next to him while I'm preparing dinner. At the end of conversation I heard my husband asked, "do I have to make decision now?" This tool who said he got pay by salary instead of commission said, "no but you have 3 minutes!" I so wanted to scream and kicked him out of our house. What is this? A gimmick? Well it doesn't work... you wasted both of your people and our time. I asked him up front and he tried to be technically correct but saying no but we have three minutes. We are happy to have called Renewal by Anderson for a quote to replace three doors. Our satisfaction is due in large part to Sam, the representative who came our house. Sam was prompt, professional, polite, and easy to talk to. I would love to be able to give a real review....but their company policy does not allow women to make decisions without their husbands present. They would not schedule an appointment for an estimate unless my husband, who chooses not to be involved, was included. Outrageous!! Welcome to 1950!! No self respecting woman should ever use this company! Fortunately there are many other choices. On the plus side, since my post, I have received 2 apologetic calls from management. Both assured me they would schedule an appointment without my husband's presence. They did a terrific, first-rate job, but I'm warning people about the aggressive sales team. They keep calling me despite the fact that I don't need anything else done, and that I actually just did the early legwork for my father. The guy who just now called me, Josh(?), actually threatened to call me back to hassle me if I didn't give them my father's number when I told him I was in a meeting. I booked a in-home estimate for yesterday. I was headed to my house in New Jersey (from Manhattan where I work) to meet the consultant when I got a call from this Company that the consultant cannot make it because he got sick. Keep in mind that i took 2 and a half hours away from work to meet with the consultant and take the bus back to New Jersey. Ok - it is understandable if someone gets sick. But I received no phone call or email from them when they had all my contact info. On top of that, when they called me, they lied and said they've been trying to reach me all morning regarding the cancellation... BS!! My phone and email was operational all morning. I can't say anything about their quality of work but customer service-wise, DO NOT USE THEM. read more

Deplorable! This tool wasted my entire Saturday morning with his bs sales pitch. More like scare tactic saying that if we didn't use Renewal by Anderson our windows would be installed wrong and fall out. He repeated this nonsense line 3x. Then it took him 45 mins sitting in his car to provide a price. He quotes us, with a serious face, $7,200 for 4 small windows and....wait for it... $15,000 for a bay window. I asked him if he was serious and he said "well what do you want to pay?" I said "not that! Get out!" He ran out the door so fast and never followed up. What a con this company is! read more

I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to rethink their decision. I originally chose RBA Westchester because I was willing to pay top dollar (and they are, by far, the most expensive of all local competitors) for a great product with top-notch customer service. Since then it has been one problem and disappointment after another. And, to top it off, I was recently put in touch with a senior representative because they wanted to ensure I was "taken care of" and to have a high-level rep handle my account due to the endless stream of BS I've had to deal with from their reps. When time came to discuss financial compensation for my troubles, she was only "authorized" to offer a, frankly, insulting low-ball number. Why was I put in touch with her then? Is it because RBA doesn't feel like they need to put in effort to handle the account of a young woman? Do they even value my business or satisfaction? Or do they patronize their customers with faux assurances and promises as regular practice? Every representative I have encountered at RBA has either insulted me, trashed-talked other representatives to me (not a vote of confidence), or have made empty promises. The products themselves are sub-par; they had to put putty on my sliding glass door because of "manufacturing flaws" -- there are chips along the entire frame and was made to feel it was my problem because "most people don't notice." This is just one issue; there are others. I am currently drafting a letter to the company and the BBB. I am beyond furious. Oh, and still waiting, yet again, for follow up from the company. I've wasted so much of my time and energy dealing with this company on a transaction that should have gone seamlessly. We used this company 3 years ago at our home in Westchester. Had all windows and doors done by them very professional and quality workmanship and materials. This company would not allow me to make an appointment unless my husband was present. When I said that I was more than capable of getting the information on the price quote, I was told that was fine, but if my husband wouldn't be there, I would have to call them and reschedule to a time when he was available. Customer service was adamant that I was not to meet without my husband. I found this to be highly offensive. Needless to say, I will not be meeting with them at all, and will be going with another company. read more

The windows look nice and are well installed. However, the house is much noisier than with the 30 year old previous windows. Not sure if the windows are really weather proof (will know in winter), but they are horrible in terms of reducing noise read more

I purchased 3 double hung windows costing over $6000.00, windows took longer than 4-5 weeks I was told to arrive (7 weeks) then wrong size windows delivered another wait (3 weeks) for new windows to be manufactured. Then installer damaged window during installation also came with incorrect trim material so trim also was not completed and trim was wrong size. When installer came with new piece (another 3 Weeks) that was damaged at installation did not come with window trim again had to return (following week) with correct window trim to finish the job. Was told I would be compensated for multiple mistakes, delays and inconvenience and was not compensated, full original price was charged to my account. No apology for poor service and inconvenience. Since posting this review renewal By Anderson did reach out to me to apologize for all the problems and my inconvenience they also did send me some monetary compensation. They did state that it was unfortunate that I experienced every conceivable problem.
