I was recommended to Panorama Windows by a friend who had used them to install new windows in her Upper East Side apartment). Having heard great things, I sent Panorama a request for a quote for new windows for my apartment, but didn't hear back. Called them and spoke with Doug Simpson who asked me to resend the quote (which he confirmed he received on the phone).. Waited 3 days.. no quote. Emailed Doug again (3rd time emailing trying to get pricing) requesting an update, or even a quote (one can dream). No email.. no response.. no quote.. nothing. If you're interested in wasting your time and energy trying to get pricing, these are the guys to spend some time with. If I could give them 0 stars I would, because there was 0 customer service or interest in their customers. If its this hard just to get pricing, imagine what the installation process must be like... wow. read more

I contacted Panorama about replacing our apartment windows because of the good reviews I saw online and word of mouth from a neighbor. Very disappointing that they have not lived up to that. They came in and took measurements promptly, promising a quote within 2 weeks, which was a bit long but reasonable. 6 weeks later, we are still waiting for that quote!! All we keep getting are promises through email that they are about to send it our way, they just need to include one more thing. I was excited about working with this company, and it's very disappointing to be treated this way. Not sure if they can be trusted, if they can't meet their promises on something as simple as a quote. read more

Doug Simpson returned my call promptly and so did the sales person assigned to come take measurements in my Manhattan condo. Unfortunately I have been waiting for a proposal for 3 weeks. Salesman came on March 24th and was very polite and professional. He did advise us that we would not get a proposal until after Passover which I respected. Knowing Passover ended April 4th I called on April 6th and left a voicemail. No response as yet. Two other vendors had sent me detailed proposals within 48 hours of having taken measurements. Panorama was the first vendor I reached out to, yet the last ones in submitting a proposal. When making this type of investment (new windows and doors), the turn-around time and responsiveness is critical to me. If it is lacking at the outset before any payments have been made, I fear that once any payments are made it will only get worse. Very disappointing, I had high hopes based on first impressions and positive reviews here. read more

I felt terrible and stupid. I had not only broken the handle of a tilt/turn window that was long out of production. But in trying to fix it myself, I managed to lock it so that it wouldn't open. I really thought that I was faced with an expensive, full window replacement. But Panorama saved me. First, they asked for a picture of the existing handle and turn mechanism. Then they were able to find the parts that worked before they came to my apartment. And by carefully drilling a small hole through the frame, they were able to release the window, take out the broken part and put in the replacements. I was unsure if I had to replace or repair the windows in my apartment in a 170 year-old townhouse. Peter Folsom looked at the space in the context of the building and confirmed that repair would respect the style of the building and accomplish much of what I wanted to do. He could have recommended new windows for a high cost but understood that price was significant to us and that we would be satisfied with repairing the windows. He was most gracious. I would give them less stars if I could. I didn't even get the quote from the service team because even though they were at my building already and buzzed my apt twice and spoke to me via intercom they just left. Claimed they couldn't get access. That's after I have waited for them for 4hrs to show up. The office personnel got back to me in a wk to tell me they wouldn't be able to help me after all. Again, I should say, they already had a job in our building. No business sense and not great people skills. WindowFix is a much nicer company all around. Helpful and friendly. read more

We used Panorama to replace all our windows (more than 20) four years ago. We went with Panorama, which had submitted the most expensive offer by a margin, because we had hoped we would receive both outstanding quality AND service. We are happy with the quality of the windows, but service doesn't live up to our expectations: While washing the windows recently, one of them came off. I called Panorama for help and was told that I would either have to wait two months for a technician to put the window back in or be helped now for an emergency fee of $325. I was also told that no technician would be available on the phone to explain to me how to reinsert the window myself. In the end, I went with a third party that came right away, reinserted the window and charged much less. I'm very disappointed with Panorama and do not recommend them anymore. read more

Although the windows installed are beautiful, it has taken the company 5 separate trips (and counting) to install the window guards. The locks should have been installed upon initial instillation while the apartment was under construction. The work is extremely invasive and dirty. They have chipped paint, blown metal shards into the carpet and failed to complete the job one too many times. Defensively, the men claim to be only "workers". However, I believe that they should have the know-with-all (considering that they do this every day and are "professionals") to do the job right the first time. UGH read more

We needed the ancient windows in our Manhattan loft replaced and had been dreading the disruption and damage involved (not to mention the price tag). I met with a number of window companies and chose Panorama because of the professionalism and helpfulness of Jonathan Freeman, the sales representative and because I liked their casement pivot product. Their prices were not the lowest but were competitive and I had confidence that the installation would go well and the windows would be high quality. In fact, everything went amazingly smoothly, there was no problem arranging the installation dates, the installers were very professional and skilled, they were extremely careful not to damage anything around the windows or elsewhere in the apartment and the final result was amazing. We really notice the difference in sound insulation, we can finally clean our windows easily and they look great! read more
