Dr. Kapshtica is very friendly and helpful with any questions I've had. I've been going for about 2 years now. The office location is perfect for mid-day appointments during work hours, as my office is in Dupont Circle. I've only ever had cleanings done here, and usually they are speedy yet thorough. The staff is really great and friendly too. Making appointments is very easy and usually they can schedule you within a week or so, which is incredible turn around. I was having a hard time find a good dentist in DC. Last year I made the mistake of going to a dentist office in DuPont Circle area that was clearly out to get my money. They suggested something like $3,000 of treatment, and by suggested I mean they made it sound like it was a life and death situation. After that, I did a lot of research about DC dentists that take my insurance and settled on Dr. Renis based on the positive Yelp reviews. He is very calm and knows what he is doing. Dr. Kapshtica is professional and personable, as well as efficient and knowledgeable. I was impressed with the office and patient rooms itself as it was clean and tidy. He has a large flat screen monitor to show the X-rays instantly, as well as other indicators (adjusted the images so I can quickly see what he saw) of where the teeth need a second look. He is patient and explains everything to help understand what work needs to be done and concern points. Dr. Kapshtica's office assistants were also very friendly at the front desk. His dental assistant, Eta, was sweet and we chatted quite a bit (she's Bulgarian). I went in for a cleaning and x-rays to see if I need fillings. The whole process took under 45 minutes (minus the initiatl paperwork). Plus the scaling was impressively NOT painful (like I have had at other offices). They use an ultrasonic tool rather than a manual metal tool. I walked out feeling like my teeth were clean and I got a good professional opinion. I found Dr. Renis by chance through my insurance. I've been incredibly lucky to have found him on my first go. Dr. Renis and his staff are very kind and patient - fielding all of my questions. The office is very clean, doesn't push unnecessary services and I can totally trust him. I've had a wisdom tooth extraction and he was very sensitive about my anxieties. Dr. Renis is a gem - I was fortunate enough to come across his name in my insurance directory when I first moved to D.C. over 5 years ago and have been seeing him ever since. While the dentist is not a favorite place for anyone, Dr. Renis is great. Over the last few years, he's replaced a number of my old, metal fillings. The process was smooth and surprisingly painless. My first two visits were excellent with his practice. Recently, he has been rushed, moving from room to room, leaving you waiting while he attends to another patient in the next room. He did not do tooth capping well on one of the visits. It still showed mineral discoloration on the tooth. Initially said he would redo in next visit and postponed in two subsequent visits, claiming he had no more time to spend on the retouching. On the third occasion when I had regular cleaning, I reminded him of the retouch, he changed his opinion to, 'I can't make it any better'... It seemed like he just was not interested in spending more time doing the work when the insurance had already been billed. I feel that was unethical behavior and it seemed he was just postponing it to never really come to doing it. Also, before he used o do the routine exams and cleaning himself but now has a hygienist doing that. read more

I have been a patient with Dr. Renis for several years. I've had a range of services from routine cleanings to root canal to new crown to emergency visits for a broken tooth (I promise I'm not a tooth kook although listing all my different procedures makes me sound like one). Dr Renis is very professional. He never tries to upsell me on procedures. He outlines my options without pushing. The vibe of his office is that he is very up to date. Digital x rays, crown options included newer materials that Dr Renis guarantees for several years (I can't remember how many). Overall I felt confident in him. read more

Can't recommend this dentist enough! All of the staff are great, I never have to wait, and Dr.Kapshtica does a fantastic job. Dr Renis is the best kept secret in DC. After calling many offices and I couldn't get an appt, I stumbled across Dr Renis reviews here and when I called they fit me in right away. There was only a 10 minute wait which was great. Dr Renis makes recommendations but isn't pushy. I relocated right before getting treatment and Dr. Renis took the findings from my previous dentist and suggested that I didn't need the intensive suggestions. That saved me $$$. MOST IMPORTANT: He was very gentle. May I add that the music at the office is soothing. :-) He's going to be my dentist until I leave DC. read more

Dr. Renis is the best dentist. He's very kind and interested in his patients' lives. He's a perfectionist about his work, and his office is high-tech. He shows you your x-rays on a monitor and explains exactly what he sees and why you need whatever course of treatment you need. Dr. Kapshtica's dental practice was recommended to be by a friend. I've had three visits since then. He has done a lot of work such as; implants, removal of old bridges and the replacement of crowns. I cannot recommend Dr. Kapshtica enough! I initially called his office because I needed help. I was new to the area and had a dental issue which needed urgent treatment. Seeing as I hadn't established with a dentist, I had to "wing it" and I went to a dentist that was located close to my home. Unfortunately the dentist which I went to did not do a good job. I knew that I needed to find another dentist to fix the unsatisfactory work which the initial dentist provided. I called Dr. Kapshtica's office and his friendly office staff worked me in right away. Upon arrival to Dr. Kapshtica's office I found a friendly, professional office assistant and she greeted me with a warm smile. The waiting room was comfortable and clean. I only waited a very short moment prior to being greeted by another friendly assistant to Dr. Kapshtica, he may have been a dental assistant, he brought me back to the exam room and did his part of the exam/work-up, he was also very friendly, competent and professional. Then I saw Dr. Kapshtica. He looked at the issue I presented to him and not one time would he speak badly regarding the initial dentist or work which was performed in my mouth. Dr. Kapshtica simply said that he did not like it and proceeded to answer any questions, describe what he saw, what his treatment advise was and proceeded to re-fix the work the other dentist initial did. I gained immediate respect for Dr. Kapshtica when he told me the treatment plan and what was/what was not necessary. The initial dentist informed me that I would need A LOT of work done, and I was a bit uneasy about his treatment ideas. However, Dr. Kapshtica indicated that NONE of the treatment suggestions from the other dentist were even necessary! Dr. Kapshtica did not do anything "extra" just to create a higher bill and generate more revenue for himself, he only did exactly what was necessary and he did an AMAZING job! I was extremely pleased with his work and the outcome. I am so pleased that I found his practice. I returned to Dr. Kapshtica to "establish" as his patient and had a regular check up/cleaning and again received the same amazing experience from walking into the office, to having the exam, to checking out. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experiences with Dr. Kapshtica and his staff. I am literally looking forward to returning to Dr. Kapshtica's practice for my six month cleaning! Now who says that about going to the dentist!!! He also has amazing equipment, it is more modern and high tech than I have ever seen at any other facility. They also file my insurance for me, I didn't have to do anything but provide my insurance card to them and they did the rest. read more
