Just returned from renewing my membership at the range. When I inquired about the discount for first responders , first I was told thrat's only for first time members, then I spoke to another employee who said he thought the discount should apply for membership renewals, however he wasn't sure because " our managers don't like to have staff meetings " ( are you freaking kidding me ) so he would check with the general manager who just happened to be there today. GM told him no go but didn't feel it important enough to explain it to me directly. I've purchased five firearms plus too many holsters to count in the last year. In the market for a Sig 320 , guess where I won't be buying it ? Sounds like Renoguns could use some new managers. Mike K. Received a call from the general manager after posting the above negative review of Renoguns. He explained their side of the misunderstanding and his inability to meet with me in person. This indoor range is tops in cleanliness, and there is ample space. Air quality is a lot better than the nearby competition. I was informed that they use the same air quality control system used in hospitals. No wonder you barely smell gun smoke. That's important for health reasons. Highly recommended. read more

Absolutely best gun shop I've been too. Was looking to get my A2 flash hider on my rifle replaced with a muzzle break I bought online. I didn't have the tools to take it on and off so thought this place could get the job done. When I first went in the guy at the counter told me it's going to be $50 and about a week until it's done. I was obviously not happy because this task usually takes 5 minutes at max, I just didn't have the tools to do it at home. I said okay but when I walked in the store with my rifle I headed over to the manager and told him about the task I needed to get done. He told me to sit tight and took my rifle in the back room. Not even four minutes pass and he walks out with the new muzzle break on my rifle. I asked him how much I owed him and he said nothing! I was very grateful but didn't get his name. He was a taller build with a bald head and glasses. I ended up buying some ammo and left a tip because that manager or retail guy was super understanding and helpful. Clean place overall, haven't gone to their range yet but looks pretty neat. Highly recommend for great customer service here. read more

This place is for tourists not for shooters. You can't shoot much of anything but they will sure sell you their ammo. The touch screens are not so touch, more like pound the screen to have the target move. No veterans discount so if your a vet steer clear. read more

Decided to go check them out (newness and all), as my daughter was getting ready for a shooting match. $15.00 for her to shoot, and an additional $15 for me to coach her!! Went there Wednesday evening and a guy whose name starts with "A"...sorry, think it was Anthony? helped me out. He was TOTALLY awesome...he would remember me...Asian guy inquiring about 9 mm. He took the time to show me the 9 mm pistols; explained to me the differences; pricing; evaluated what I was buying for. He was patient and never made this first-timer feel stupid. Had planned on going to another gun range but was recommended to go here after taking some family members to a nearby indoor archery range. I am glad for this recommendation since I took family members here who have not used guns before. This is a very clean an organized place with very friendly and helpful staff. I've been to many gun ranges over the years and I must say that Reno Guns & Range is the best by far. The facility is state of the art - immense, immaculate and very well laid out. I recently visited the range while on vacation with my wife and my 16 year old son. My son and I went into the shooting range while my wife looked on from a sofa in the viewing area. The range personnel were very friendly and helpful. They have an impressive assortment of firearms for rent at very reasonable prices. There is a range officer present at all times, which is a good thing, despite what another reviewer said. The range officer was polite and stood in the background and did not interfere with our shooting. The range is equipped with the latest computerized target retrieval system and the ventilation is the best I have ever experienced while shooting. The retail portion of the facility is amazing. They have literally hundreds of firearms (and accessories) for sale displayed in easy to view glass cases along the walls. I would highly recommend Reno Guns & Range to anyone who wants to experience shooting on a whole new level. I wish they had a similar facility where I live! read more

Awesome home defense course!!!! Took the course on Sunday with Jay and Ron instructing. I found it so valuable. As prepared as you think you are to defend yourself in your own home they show you how unprepared you really are. Very informative and eye opening. They take you through classroom, live fire (both intuitive and sight) and force on force scenarios. I have taken one on one trying with Jay before this and I am much more prepared now. Thank you Jay and Ron. I look forward to taking many more classes with you. I recommend that everyone that is armed in your home to take this training. It is worth every penny. read more

awful customer service with employees cursing and ignoring customers. plus you get told one thing and they do another. after that when they were in the wrong no apology or offer to make it right.better yet when you leave counter upset cause they just lied to u and are upset they kick u out for having an attitude and charge you even though you been in there for 5 minutes. worst customer service i have ever experienced. will not ever go back. if i could i would give less than one star. read more

It's a great range, very clean and the people are very friendly and its a very modern range. The only thing I find lacking is they only give military a discount on Tuesday at certain hours and it's very pricey just to shoot for an hour. Not that I'm saying that's all bad, at least they are giving the military something, which is something they are not obligated to do. Do they give LE the same? I went over to the other range, and although it's not as nice, I saw more ex military in the one hour there, than I did at RGR. read more

Took the fundamentals of CCW today with Ron, Jay & Ken. Great info and direction. Learned a lot in a realistic and safe environment. This in the third class I've taken at Reno Guns & Range and all have been great. If you want to learn how to handle a gun safely and accurately, then RGR is a great choice. I also have purchased 2 handguns and many cases of ammo here; their prices are very competitive. Bottom line, you can't go wrong at RGR. read more

Excellent experience from start to finish. This was the first time my wife and I had really been to a gun shop before and the customer service was outstanding. The staff answered all of our questions and went above and beyond in helping my wife find a gun she could carry for self defense purposes. The range on site was very handy for trying all the guns out and the instructor who helped my wife was like the rest of the staff, very friendly and super helpful with my wife's decision in purchasing a gun. Let me first say that this place is pretty nice. It's by far the best range in Reno. They keep it very clean and well staffed. Prices seem reasonable on all the products and the store is laid out well. The place is marketed as a training center as well as a range and it seems welcoming and managed very well. The motorized lanes easy and target courses are nice. One huge ding and my chief complaint was the lack of a Law Enforcement discount. Not that LE should automatically receive such a thing, but usually Ranges WANT Law Enforcement in their establishment and provide discounts, sometimes steep, in order to get us in there; it's good for both business and safety. I had actually heard from coworkers that this range didn't provide a LE discount which is why I put off trying it until now. I was extremely disappointed to learn firsthand that no such perk existed. They do provide 10% off the annual membership but most cops are not going to pay the $300 (cheapest!!!) when we all shoot at our own agency ranges. And the 10% off helps but is not much of a draw at all. Word to the management: a large number of my LEO co-workers simply go elsewhere because of the lack of LE friendly pricing. You're missing out on quite a bit of business by a core part of the shooting community that I assume you want coming in and out of your establishment as frequently as possible. If you could do 25-50% off memberships or 50% off daily rates (like most ranges) for LE, a huge number of my coworkers and I would be in much more frequently. Hope you can take this constructively. LOVE this place!! This is one of the most exciting new businesses that has opened in Reno this year. Given that people in Nevada really love their guns ;) our area totally needed a place like this! By far, the thing I like best about this huge, state-of-the art facility is that they make both safety and good air quality very high priorities. Because they do such a good job filtering the air on the range, they are actually able to have Range Safety Officers in the shooting area, and I think this is great. They also make a good effort with the lead management in general (meaning they try to minimize how much gets tracked into the retail space and classrooms) which is important to me also. And the training there is excellent! They are one of only a few facilities in the country that offers Reality Based Training, where students can practice their skills in a space that is laid out similar to an actual home- which is very cool! I did 2 hours of individual training today with Derek and the lesson was well organized, fun and very, very helpful; the instructors there have a ton of experience and are great at communicating the information. Also, the facility itself is beautiful; it's obvious that someone put a lot of thought into the design and layout of the space and it works really well; even smaller details like the bathrooms are thoughtfully designed and pretty. And if that's not enough reasons to check this place out, one more nice thing is that this is a woman-owned business and they offer a lot of women-only classes. Definitely want to try some of the actual classes here now too! read more
