My second visit was just a good as the first, if not, better. There's no doubt I will be back whenever I am in Reno. The facility is one of the best in a 200 mile radius. I've been to all the shooting ranges in the Sacramento area and they don't even compare to this one. First of all, it's very roomy compared to most typical shooting ranges. It's nice to have space when handling guns. I love the automated target system. Every other range I've been to, you get the typical pulley system where you hold down a button to start or stop the target. The preset distances for the target system here is awesome. My second visit was a gift from a good friend of mine to celebrate my birthday. It was a Groupon deal that includes 3 gun rentals and targets, eye and ear protection. My friend was a first time shooter and I loved the fact that the clerk walked her through the basic gun safety rules and handling of the guns. The clerk was also a woman and therefore was able to give her some tips on how to pull the slide back (a lot harder for a woman to do!). She also recommended starting with a .22 and working her way up to the larger the calibers. This tremendously helped her get comfortable handling the recoil. Overall, my friend and I had a great experience and she was thrilled to get into shooting in the future. My only complaint would be that the clerk forgot to tell us that the ammo that came with the included Groupon gun rental deals were an extra charge. I already expected that it would be an additional charge, but it would have been nice for her to inform us of this since the prices vary between the ammunition. read more

I'm from the People's Republic of California. I came here to attend The Big Reno Show and need to kill some time. I found this place just using a general Google search and decided to go check them out. What a great indoor range. It's modern it's clean and all of the staff are really friendly and helpful. Today I decided would be the day for the first time in my life to go full auto. I rented the British Sten Gun a 9 mm and took advantage of the specials to buy 5 magazines and get the sixth free and I had a total range time of 15min . Six magazines at 28 rounds each go pretty fast in full auto. Every time I come back to Reno I am definitely visiting Reno Guns and Range and trying something different. BTW any firearm with a Giggle Switch....ahem (full auto fire selector), is the one for me!!! Thanks RGR for a great visit. read more

We were really impressed with the shop and the range. The range is clean and easy to use and mostly an extremely safe environment. The reason for only 4 stars is that when we went there one customer was firing a high powered rifle that gave off a huge bang and shockwave and upset everyone in the other lanes. Reno Guns and Range has been a favorite of mine since me and a few buddies went shooting at the indoor range before the pandemic. Thanks to this business I had a blast with my friends and it was a very memorable experience. Since the pandemic is about over now and prices on guns/ ammunition has now stabilized, I've decided to get back into shooting sports. Recently I made a few inquiries about parts & services with Reno Guns and Range. They are professional, friendly and responsive. The are all serious gun enthusiasts. I've been several places in Reno and I have had horrible experiences with customer service elsewhere. The other big gun stores in Reno have literal hillbillies, not rednecks, but hillbillies running the stores who make shopping for guns a highly unpleasant experience. Which is a massive downer. This is my hobby, and I don't enjoy getting excited for someone at the gun shop to be a d*** everytime I got buy something for my hobby. Guns and Range is not like that. They are real professionals and a fine business. I enjoy that place and I recommend it. I plan on doing all future business with them over everyone else in Reno. read more

Overall, a great store with amazing customer service. A good selection of firearms, ammo, and accessories. I didn't get any information about the range but it looked state of the art. Hannah was extremely knowledgable and walked me through the cleaning process and assembly of my new firearm with no sales pressure. I was in the market for a new long-range (1,000+ yd) rifle system (rifle, scope, etc), and thought I'd see what this place offered. The shop was not busy, yet I waited several minutes watching employees talk among themselves about personal subjects (not gun related). I interrupted one set of employees, explained what weapon I was looking for, and was assigned to a guy who was "very knowledgeable". He had no idea what I was seeking, and rather than ask another employee for help, wasted ~10 minutes of my time looking things up on his computer. I finally left, went to Scheels (Sparks), where they had rifles I was seeking in-stock, and knowledgeable staff to advise me. This has got to be the best gun shop I've ever been to, the staff is super friendly yet not over bearing trying to shove crap you don't want to buy down your throat which makes the whole shop experience seem that much nicer... They were quick with friendly small talk and smart about gun talk. They were attentive while I drooled over their selection (which is huge by the way) and more than willing to pull out any weapon I pointed at, (Tavor, Vector, SCAR, and a FNX. 45 tactical are what I looked at) let me hold it, aim it, rack it, you name it! Moving on to the range: I rented an AR-10 with a suppressor on it for ten freekin bucks! I originally wanted to shoot a Glock as I'm looking to buy one and wanted to know how it shoots, but being from The People's Republic of California, the AR with a can on it was too cool to pass up! The range is state-of-the-art, integrated tablets allow you to zip your target to set distances, or adjust them, all with the push of a virtual button. There's plenty of lanes at the range they have open (there will be 3 total) The dividers are bulletproof, and the benches have plenty of space and the edges are raised so your bullets don't go rolling all over the floor. I was told by an associate that they are finishing up an indoor tactical range that will allow shoot-n-move maneuvers. Also a few little side notes, there's tons of parking, they offer a 90 day layaway program with purchases over $1000, and it's right off the freeway! They have earned my business for life. read more

Extremely helpful staff who are very knowledgeable and confident in teaching you how to handle and shoot a weapon. The folks at the range as well as the training facility are extremely personal and will make you feel right at home, even if you don't know what the heck you're doing. Took the 30 minute course for private instruction and I became a better shooter within 30 minutes! The techniques I learned in such a small window of time was the result if my instructor paying attention to detail of my stance, trigger pull and confidence was exceptional. Lastly, I kept one of their sales staff busy for over 35 minutes just looking at two separate guns before deciding which one to purchase. Thanks for hanging in there Tyler! My wife and I are pleased with the range for all our pistols, but rifles can be a little loud. It is after all an indoor range so we recommend doubling up plugs and muffs if someone next to you is dumping an sbr or hp pistol. I like the range controls as well as the ventilation. The price of targets is fair, as well as the ammo stock. I don't like how you are not allowed to keep your brass. I understand when it's busy you can't have people on there hands in knees picking up brass but there should be some type of compromise. How about a trade? Lets start with my spent brass for your paper targets? You would still be profiting. I would rate the range a 4 For the store front...I'd rate a 2 Prices are a little too high. Budget build parts like anderson or even spikes receivers can be found in town for way cheaper at multiple shops. I was interested In purchasing a battle born lower and upper simply for state pride, but for the price I questioned the specs. I was answered with condescending chuckles as if they were the best parts made. If you can't tell me specifics like what type of hard coat finish or trigger pin diameter, for the price I might as well buy a stoner, noveske, or any one of the millions of names out there, and not knowing the difference between an m16 bcg and ar15 bcg is elementary. This should be answered without showing me the part. I was also looking for some old m16 triangle fore ends for a retro build and was met with the question, "why would you want those? They stopped making them for a reason" It doesnt matter why i want them, and they stopped making classic cars, but some people still want them. I will be looking elsewhere to build a complete state pride rifle. Not because of the price but the fact that the employee had expressed a "know it all attitude" and literally laughed at my questions when it was apparent that the employee lacked knowledge in the product. This isn't my first rodeo buying nor building and with decades of experience I have learned that experienced shooters with similar interests share and learn from each other. Let me suggest if a person is asking for a pin diameter and you don't know the answer try asking "why do you need to know that?" or simply saying "I don't know" I will continue to share how nice and convenient the range is, but the store front will never see a penny from my pocket. My overall review would be average. When you walk in the range stands out as being amazing, but that is met with an occasional employee that thinks they're gods gift to the second ammendment. Not sure I would take another class here. Would have appreciated an email about the class beforehand, but I received none. Or, how about opening the doors to 24 students standing outside before 9:10 AM? Since this was a renewal class, I would also have appreciated a blank application for concealed carry renewal, or in this modern day, one mostly filled out by a computer? Customer first kind of novel to customer service here? For $75 we shot 50 rounds (Our own gun and ammo), had the required lecture, no water or coffee provided, no official (Promised) lunch break, and far too many shooters (24) for only 6 lanes of shooting activity. As one student put it: "That took way too long". And it did. Here is a novel idea, how about same day as training discount in the retail shop? After hours of standing around in the showroom, the instructor dashed out and said "We can't have you just standing around without buying something" (Incentive?), so we were put back into the classroom while the final 6 shooters finished up. So 18 sat in silence with nothing to do. How about completing the renewal application with some instructions on the state-of-art screen? Questions were encouraged by the instructor: "Hey this is your class", but the attendees who did ask questions were mocked for doing so. I do not, nor did not, have that "you all come back" feeling when I left. The owners spent a lot of money on this place and there is a video that I watched over and over and over again to prove it. What is missing is that connection with someone new coming here and feeling welcomed, appreciated, and encouraged to come back. A beautiful remodel from a Harley dealership and easy location to find, but no customer THERE-THERE. Otherwise the facility is clean, safe, and supervised for shooting. read more

I drove to Reno guns from Tahoe because I spent the weekend there with my family. That week I had a qualification for work that I was very nervous for because my shooting was well below passing. I didn't call ahead to make an appointment or see if any private sessions were available. Once I arrived and asked if they had any availabilities they were very accommodating and took me right away. Their selection of guns is amazing and they carried the same gun as my standard issue. My instructors name was Ken and he worked wonders. I passed all five of my qualifications and I owe a HUGE thank you to Ken and the staff of Reno Guns for helping me get to a passing level. So again thank you staff and for those reading - this is a great business very clean put together and organized. First off, can i say WOW. Ive never shot a gun nor been in a range, this place is immaculate. I took a hand gun fundamentals course with a few girlfriends, our instructor, Terry, was a little intimadating at first but holy crap, he is one knowledgable and helpful teacher. We wanted to learn and absorb as much as possible in one class. He took extra time to make sure we all were comfortable with all the "lingo", loading the mag, hand grip and the body positioning etc.... Then we did laser shooting in their class room, which definately made me feel more comfortable. Next was shooting a 9mm handgun we picked, we each got 50 rounds. Took turns as he spoke out commands, we each loaded our own guns etc. i had so much fun i would take another course with Terry any day. I walked in the door feeling very nervous, to leaving feeling 100% more confident and pumped up to do it again. I am no longer intimidated by touching a gun now. Special Thanks to Terry!!!!! What an amazing experience we had yesterday. We took the home invasion defense class. Wow!!! Such great information and training. Ken, our lead instructor, has an enthusiasm that keeps the class fun & interesting, but his knowledge and experience are what make the class fantastic. Most of the other instructors are retired police & military and their willingness to help and give tips on the range and in class were invaluable. I had never done anything like this before and I left feeling more prepared, educated and full of adrenaline after the RBT scenarios. I can't say enough about the class and the whole facility. As a woman with very little shooting experience I felt comfortable the whole time and will definitely be back. read more
