Made an appointment for them to come give an estimate. They said I needed to be there, no exceptions (even though I'm military and wife is a teacher). They offered 8pm and we readily accepted and cleared our schedule. They confirmed it via text, then no-showed. I called and emailed after, yet no response. Very poor customer service. The 8 man crew showed up on time, eager, willing and able to attack the exterior painting of my one story home in Old SouthWest here in Reno. Danny,Joe, Victor, Jenner,Byron,Brandon, and Abraham all politely introduced themselves as they surveyed the job and began staging their equipment for the tasks that they knew were theirs. They were experienced, and obviously good, very good at what they knew had to be done, including scraping, sanding, putting and window covering before any paint was opened. Thorough preparation is essential for the paint to adhere a.nd all of these young men knew that and took their tasks seriously. Seriously, these guys knew what they were doing. Both the painting of the flat surfaces as well the painting of the trim was done with two coats of Sherwin Williams best outdoor paint, with some leftover for me for future touch up. The business owner visited the job as did the salesman who quoted the job; likewise, Danny, the crew chief not only oversaw the team's work and the progressing quality, but he was another pair of expert working hands. Look, I normally say, "if I want something done, I'll do it myself ". Not anymore. We're completely renovating our kitchen & decided painting our oak cabinets would save us money rather than replacing them all. Plus, we have some solid oak wood cabinets. But they're 40 years old and boy, were they showing every year of their age! It took a bit to get a return call from Battle Born but once we did, an estimator came out pretty quickly. They must be busy b/c we had to be scheduled for two months later. We were told they would take the doors and drawers to their shop & be back a week later to do the cabinets themselves. Worst customer service experience we've had in a long time. Starting by not showing up to start the job as scheduled (they said they had a team quit the week prior) to calling our job a "turd" via text to finally having to argue a quoted cash price in their office and then being told there are no receipts for cash payments (we got a receipt, kind of, definitely not itemized or having a cash value attached to it, trust me, I know what they're doing here...). It was one problem after another with the "foreman" that was assigned to our job. We were told that the job should have never been quoted and that whoever approves the quotes never adds in enough compensation for scrapping/patch work. That is a Battle Born problem, not a customer problem. Clean up was not great, paint chips were everywhere including on the neighbors car and yard and the crew left behind water/gatorade bottles. When the clean up was brought to the foreman's attention, he said they do the best they can and that there was another customer who complained and ended up having to pay a cleaning company $12,000 to remove their lead paint chips. This is a difficult review to write. Battle born painted the exterior of our house. It is gorgeous!!! They do great work but I struggled with the lack of communication from the estimate, scheduler, project manager to me. Battle Born was the company I chose because their estimator did a great job explaining what the project entailed from how they will paint, what they will paint, and how I didn't pay until I am pleased with the results. I was contacted by Derek telling me the power washing will occur a week before the painting. Then 2 days before the scheduled painting date a paint delivery truck arrived at my house unannounced. We were actually leaving for work and the driver stopped us in our driveway. I texted Derek he explained he ordered the paint early to make sure he had enough but neglected to inform me. Then the day of painting all the people arrived and I was asked to leave my house open to them but never in any of the dealings with them did they explain that to me. I should have taken the day off because these men were in and out of my house all day long. I got home to a beautifully painted home and they only had a few touch ups to complete that Victor the assistant project manager noticed as he was walking me around. Bonus if you pay cash you get a small discount and if you use credit there is a percentage added to the total. They also guarantee their work for 2 years and the paint is a longer guarantee. So would I use them again? Yes for the quality of work and my trepidation is the lack of communication. read more

We contracted with Battle Born Painting in July 2021 to cover our backyard concrete with coating to add a degree of color to the concrete. The job itself was done poorly to which we advised the company who came out to look and agreed it needed to be fixed. Instead of doing what we agreed to have done the company added an extra layer of slick coating to the top of the concrete which made the concrete very slippery when wet. When we advised the company this was not what we agreed to and the concrete is unsafe , especially for my Blind husband and our grandkids who run on the concrete patio, they advised they would fix it. In 2023 they proposed a contract. To which we have tried over a dozen times to contact them to complete the job. At this point the company has not returned any of our calls, emails, messages in text . They have simply ghosted us. This concrete patio is unsafe for a disabled person, let alone anyone walking on it when it is wet because the coating was not done properly and the company now refused to contact us back . This needs to be resolved quickly as we have lived with this hazard since 2021. Please help us get this issue resolved. Thank you . read more

We paid top dollar Battle Born to paint our exterior. The crew was loud and sloppy. I work from home and had to tell them to turn down their music, that they were blaring outside, multiple times. We had scheduled our cabinets to be painted at the same time, and after the exterior outcome we wanted to cancel. They refused to give us back our deposit. When we communicated with Battle Born they sent out an estimator who was fantastic! She looked at all of the property and reviewed each specific area of the exterior and what they would do to prep and paint it. Unfortunately the crew and foreman did not deliver on ANY of it. They were so disrespectful to me and only wanted to deal with "the boss" (indicating my husband). As a teacher, it took us months to save enough money to get our house painted and we were thoroughly disappointed. They stated they would NOT caulk anything, they did not want to paint under anything (even though snow would cause damage if it wasn't painted under some parts of the trim). They also decided that the 1.5-2 feet clearance that was originally stated would not be enough and hacked away and my plants. They also decided to paint my plants as well. In the pictures you will also see that they dripped paint on our pavers and decided to break one of our hoses. We will NEVER be using them again. Derrick (the foreman) was not there the first day and was baffled as to why it was taking more than 1 day to complete our house and then stated that it was my fault that it was taking them 2 days (though the quote said 2 days). And threatened me stating that Will (the owner) said that "if that lady gives you any more trouble you tell her to look at the contract" - even though all I was asking for them to do was hit the spots that they missed (picture attached was under the door that they did not do; even though they said that they had finished that side on day 1). I would highly suggest for everyone to use another company. Battle Born paint does not take pride in their work and only want the paycheck. read more

I, like hundreds of other stuck at home due to covid, thought now would be the time to get my painting done. I had three different companies come out and give me a bid. All were very prompt. Battle Born offered me the best price for what I wanted done. I needed the entire first floor painted- it's basically one very large open space. The tricky part was the dining area has a two and a half story vault. Since I was painting the downstairs, I had to include the stairwell and the upstairs hallway. There was no easy stopping place. I had also just had new LVP flooring laid, so I wanted all the baseboards and door trim caulked and painted. For all of this, I felt my total was very reasonable. There is a 4% additional fee for using a credit card. My two day project did turn into three. The existing paint really sucked up the new paint. And Logan needed to repair a few wall areas, as well as caulking all the trim. He was very polite, and stayed late a to finish. He had me walk through the entire project to make sure it was perfect before I paid and he left. read more
