I have a VERY difficult time with blood draws! I have tiny veins that seem to run at the sight of a…read moreneedle. I can't even count how many times someone has "blown" one of my veins. Consequently, I have a horrible fear of needles. Phlebotomists have a tendency not to listen to me when I express my concerns and try to tell them how to best collect a sample from me; arrogance I think. HOWEVER, I had an entirely different experience at this location the other day! First of all, I hardly had to wait at all. I so badly wish I had asked the name of my phlebotomist because he was amazing! He collected my blood with zero issues and most importantly... HEARD me. He asked if I was doing ok during the draw, I didn't even feel him switching out the tubes, and he was able to place the needle on the first try. I don't even have a bruise at the injection sight- and that's only ever happened to me one other time. The entire process was quick and (virtually) painless!

They gave me an antibiotic because I have a red area near the belly button, which is most likely and some type of infection, but went to Northern Nevada after that I felt that St. Mary's was negligent and did not even take any bloodwork MRIs CT's to see if there was anything further they felt that there was no need so continue to feel worse later on in the day, the same dizzy nauseous out of my body and mind kind of thing. I'm sure it could be from the infection if there is an infection in the belly button so it takes time for the antibiotics to kick in understandable but then when I got the results back from my CT from Northern Nevada, it does state that I have a small abdominal tear in the belly button area so I am furthering what to do with this situation but I was very pleased with Northern Nevada, and the staff that night the girls at the desk were very kind. The doctor was kind listen very carefully and immediately ordered a CT which I was very happy with after I explained what happened with St. Mary's during the early morning that day went home feeling a little better knowing that I wasn't going to die anytime soon, but the problem is still there, and I am looking to follow up with a gynecologist and a gastrologist for the pain in my stomach and lower right growing area overall they took care of business and were able to leave me in the direction. There were no signs posted anywhere stating that they stop accepting walk-ins early or that they close check-ins at 2pm. The staff member who came out (a white lady) was rude and unprofessional, speaking dismissively to customers waiting in line. Here's the funny part... while I was writing this review, Yelp says they close in 42 minutes, and my phone time was 3:18pm. Seriously? Is this a joke? Who's managing this location?

I had to sign in and was given paperwork to complete. The check in process was very simple and quick. The waiting area was nice with a lot of seating and a TV. I was called in to the back at 12:50pm. At the back I was asked to put my bag and coat on a hanger and had to verify my information. Then I was given a cup and directed to the bathroom for the sample. Without flushing, I brought out the sample, then had to date and initial it, sign and I was done. The whole process took no more than 8 minutes. Overall, the wait was a little longer than expected considering there was only one other customer in front of me. Staff were very efficient and nice though.

One rang the bell and the lady just kept telling them to use the kiosk, and when they said they were trying she kept saying use the kiosk, use the kiosk, use the kiosk. The person gave up and left. The second person needed help and after watching that, I helped. I was able to help them get their license scanned and checked in. This person was not a English first language, the lack of help was appalling to me. Then the billing. I have visited several times and not showing payments posted. I called and asked for a statement of account. Any provider should be able to provide this, it is a list of services and payments. I was told I would be sent the statement, what I received was individual copies of bills. I noticed a payment was not posted, I called back and the person, says, "there is another bill". (Why do I not have it, I thought) I said I requested a full statement of my account. She said, "we don't do that, we can only send copies of individual bills" so I asked again to have a copy of every single bill sent so I can reconcile to make sure my payments are posted. I am now waiting for that, but I will not use Quest ever again. It is ridiculous that they can't print one statement for me with everything and they way they treated people in person was degrading. From the moment I arrived, Carey was incredibly kind, patient, calming, and genuinely comforting. She has a natural way of putting you at ease, which makes such a difference in a medical setting. We got so engaged in conversation that time flew by--before I knew it, the appointment was already done. Carey was also extremely thorough and took the time to explain the timeline for receiving my results, which I truly appreciated. Instead of leaving with uncertainty, I left feeling informed and reassured.
