Josh and Tim were helpful, kind and efficient when I was planning my company holiday party. I do recommend table clothes for the tables, which are sold or rented separately. This was an excellent experience. I called ahead to see if they had the power washer and demolition hammer that I needed to do a few jobs around the house. The guy on the phone and the guy who helped me out was the nicest person to deal with as well as very knowledgeable. He told me I should probably get the larger demo hammer but I didn't and man did I ever wish I had, he was right. I will go back here because I will need to rent these items again. I needed to rent 50 chairs for a business meeting. The owner said that all of his delivery people are on vacation, so I'd have to pick them up myself. I explained that I only have a SUV and he said they would fit (not sure how 50 chairs would, but ok). So I said I could pick them up, but I am traveling the next day and have no way to drop them off. I offered to pay a delivery fee (they are only 2 miles from my office/5 min drive). He said he didn't have anyone and I'd have to figure it out... bc otherwise he'd have to deliver/pickup himself. So even though I offered to double the size of our order to be at least $200, he still didn't care about our business enough to pickup the chairs for an extra fee. It's unfortunate bc I would have used his services for other larger events I plan in the future, but he was not helpful at all. He said they're a small business which I understand, but he shouldn't be so dismissive of potential repeat customers then. I decided to place the order with Hello Rentals in DC instead (paying a $130 fee to deliver/pickup). read more

This past weekend, my husband and I decided to rent a gas-powered pressure washer/power washer to clean our cement patio that had become moldy from all the snow. We first looked at Home Depot, but the locations near us failed to offer rental tools. So, we decided to check out Rental Works. They were outstanding. We arrived at 8:45am on Saturday and had our choice of washers. The person behind the counter asked us what we were cleaning and a series of other questions to help us pick out the right washer. We pulled the car around back, they taught us how to turn it on and use it, and then they helped us load it in our car. We had to return the washer at 5pm which was plenty of time to get done what we needed. We didn't just wash the patio - we used it on the brick of the house and on the fences too. It worked great! The rental was $83 for the day. While some folks may consider that pricey, we have very little storage where we live and would not have room for a pressure washer of our own. For our needs, it was a great deal and we experienced excellent customer service. I would definitely go back to Rental Works again for other tools we might need in the future. read more

I typically rent tools from a place closer to my house in Falls Church. Was never really satisfied with the quality of tools, service, or price from them. Guess I was being lazy. When I went in to rent a gas powered pole trimmer, they only had manual. Finally a reason to go someplace else! I heard of Rental Works, but never visited (again, lazy). This time I gave them a shot. So happy I did. They seem to have everything I may need -- now and in the future. Prices reflect the quality of the tool, and the short-time rental discount is a huge bonus. The rental associate was extraordinarily helpful, and actually happy to show me how to use it. Can't wait to work with some more quality power tools from Rental Works, and will be smiling ear-to-ear when I drive right past the neighborhood rental company on my way to them. read more

I can't even begin to tell you how awesome this place is. We started at Home Depot who doesn't reserve rentals ahead of time (annoying) so we had to show up at 7am to get 1 of the 5 available stump grinders. Not a single stump grinder worked, but I'll save that rant for the Home Depot review. We frantically called around to surrounding rental places and everywhere else stump grinders were spoken for. Rental works opens at 8:00 so although we lost an hour... the staff was friendly, response was immediate, the communication was easy, and checkout and loading was perfect. They provide ramps for loading the equipment too. I will happily use them for my rental needs even if they are a little out of the way. Very pleased. read more

My boyfriend and I proudly rented a home and it needs grout cleaning in the kitchen. The place we as families spend most of our time. The young man who assisted us said this machine with pads would most defiantly get the grout off the floors. So we rented and purchased everything he said we needed. Not true it was more of a polishing machine that didn't do anything to our problem the GROUT. We were charged full price and waisted our time and working on our floors. Please beware of the knowledge these young men have regarding the equipment they rent an sell. We should have received a full refund for the money and time spent. Why not just say we are not sure just like Home Depot and Lowes did? They assured us this that this machine and pad would do the job. In returning the buffing machine they had nothing to say but to charge the full amount. I have no doubt he had no clue of what he sold us. Beware of uneducated sales people here. Children who don't comprehend how hard we work for what we have. read more

The one male employee was little to no help. I rented two 8x30 tables and 12 chairs. He made me, a 4'10" 110 pound female, help carry the tables into my car. The tables did not fit in my car and he did not offer any help or assistance with ropes or other materials to help secure the tables and chairs. He then told me to just drive with the back of my Jeep open and the tables hanging out of the car. I felt very unsafe and was given no help. read more

I have lived in Arlington for 15 years (wow, can't believe it!) and have rented from these guys whenever I've needed a big piece of equipment that just doesn't make sense to own for the few times it's required--rototiller, floor sander, power washer, etc. They are so great--really knowledgable, so pleasant and it's like nothing ever changes in that place: 15 years from my first visit and the owner hasn't aged! And always remembers you. The only thing that kept this from being a 5-star review is the last time I rented from them it was a big sander to refinish the floor in a small room. It didn't have a bag to catch the dust and they told me with this particular sander the dust doesn't get kicked up that much. 3 days later I was still vacuuming my house--every surface coated with dust even though i'd shut the door to that room. So if you ever do a project like that, make sure you get a bag attachment and seal the room off from the rest of the house! read more
