I got a spray tan for prom from SELENA and it was beyond terrible. I went last year for my homecoming and another lady did it and it did not turn out splotchy or grainy. It is orange and makes me look like an Oompa-Loompa. I had other friends that went to her as well and they all had the same results. I also asked her to come back after she left because she missed a whole entire spot on my left arm and she never came back. I am VERY upset and will NOT be going back for any service. read more

I have gone to Rēnu Day Spa under new ownership and I couldn't be more pleased! I was welcomed by an amazing front desk that was willing to answer all my questions and give all their recommendations. I got a massage by Edyta, she is by far the most amazing massage therapist I have ever gone to. You leave feeling relaxed, and your body feeling free. Edyta has a passion for massage therapy and it shows with her work. I chose her because I was told she is the most certified, such as reflexology, reiki, Thai yoga. She is the most recommended massage therapist and I strongly stand by that. I will never go to anyone else. Along with the amazing massage, I treated myself to a facial with Izabela. Let me say, she is amazing! Her presence, her professionalism is outstanding. I didn't know too much about facials and what would be best for my skin, she talked me through every step on what she recommends and what would work well with my skin. This is a fantastic place to come and be pampered! All of the people who work here are well trained and personable. I have had some incredible massages, facials, body scrubs etc. here! The salon is VERY clean, and has a fantastic ambiance! Anna, the owner, really cares about her customers--I have been one for many years and she has always treated me beautifully! She is an excellent business woman, and I really enjoy the "specials of the month"! It's. a great way to try something new without paying full-price! I have gone here 2 times now and every time I love it! The first time I got a facial and the lady was fantastic! She was so gentle and I drifted to sleep a few times, SO relaxing! The 2nd time I went I had a manicure and a chair massage. I usually go for gel nails since I can be so hard on my nails but instead I tried the dazzle dry and 2 weeks later it still looks pretty good. My nails have some chips but not nearly as many chips as past non gel manicures from other salons! The massage was also wonderful. The lady made the experience exactly what I needed. She focused on the areas of my back that I wanted with the perfect amount of pressure. Such a wonderful place to relax! read more

This day spa is as good as it gets. In this crazy world there are few retreats...renu offers you a tranquility that few places can. The place is so clean and well maintained. Manicures, no one shares, your utensils are yours to take home. Pedicures, pure bliss...each toe given much attention. In the winter I go to Maryann for my facials.she knows what to do for a menopausal woman. My last massage I was so zoned I was snoring! I usually LOVE Renu but the last time I went I got a no chip mani and a regular pedi. The girl soaked my fingers the entire time during my pedi (45min) and my finger tips and skin started to burn and were wrinkly for days. She messed up a couple finger nails (bubbles and such) and a few toes and when I called to ask if I could come in for them to fix it quickly they said I had to get it fixed with the same person and I had to make an appointment with her. She was not available for 3 days! I never went, it was hugely inconvenient. Especially cause I paid $90 for services that day! Ridiculous customer service! read more

I would recommend Renu to anyone in the area. I have gone there a couple times for waxing and have been so impressed that I won't go anywhere else now. Bernadetta is the best! She makes everything quick, painless, and a good experience...plus she's incredibly nice. The price is reasonable, actually a lot cheaper than other places for waxing. I purchased a package for my wife as a gift that was to include a mani-pedi. While she was there they told her that they couldn't fit in the mani-pedi and that she could come back at a later date and they'll take care of her. When she called back she was told that there was no money left on her card and that they wouldn't honor their word. She tried to reason with them by explaining that she was told to come back for the mani-pedi, but they kept talking in circles. Since I purchased the gift for her I felt responsible and called myself, but got the same response. I finally spoke to the owner, Anna, who told me that I can pay them $57.50 and then they would "take care" of the mani-pedi...so they wanted me to pay for the service that I already paid for and they'll be nice enough to what, give me what I paid for TWICE? G, thanks. When I took issue with that ridiculous offer Anna stopped me and asked, "Is your wife a minor or something? Why does she have to run to her husband to fight her battles? We are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan for women's rights and it's a shame that she can't take care of herself and she has to hide behind her husband." Wow! Really? Not a business that I want to deal with ever again. That being said, my wife did enjoy the part of the package that she did receive, but the fact that they stole from us left a sour taste in our mouth. read more

Im not usually someone who writes reviews but i feel compelled to after my experiance. I called there to set up a series of appoitments including a no chip manicure, pedicure, massage, and waxing. after many minutes of confusion on the phone with the reception we finally got the timing and appts right. so as i went to hang up she said to me "Oh and please show up or else you are going to be charged" i completely understand that a no show would be lost business but there are better costumer service ways to say that. So when i DID SHOW UP later that day i wasnt offered any beverage and was confused as to wear to hang my coat. Now i do have to atleast give them two stars because the actual technicians were very nice and knew what they were doing. the massage was fantastic also. But the pedicure was set in a couch and you put your feet in a bowl the size of a tupperware bowl. it was very uncomfortable and not relaxing. after my pedicure i went to get my no chip manicure which was great up until the end when i realized there was a fuzz that was in the polish. instead of fixing it she said "Oh im sorry!" All in all the services were not awful but the customer service could have been way better!! but i do have to recognize the massage therapist Beth because she was fantastic and she was very sweet. read more

I purchased two gift certificates - one for me and one for my mom - for my mom's Christmas present, for us to have a special mother-daughter-day to get our haircuts and color together. When I called to schedule our appointments, I was told they no longer have hair services. So $140 down the drain. They tried to get us in for a facial, but that is not what we wanted. We don't spend our money on facials. We need haircuts. Things were complicated because I purchased the gift certificates from MULAMU - never use them - first the deal I purchased was for HAIR and is no longer available - so shame on RENU and shame on MULAMU for offering something that is no good - and worst of all I still don't have a refund for the $140 and am fighting them on that - with the Better Business Bureau - a bad situation gone worse because they couldn't just do the right thing and send me a refund check. False advertising, and poor customer service - rude over the phone - come on! Do not go here. read more

Renu cannot be beat for the most sanitary spa on the North Shore. Disposable everything -- even the tub liners are new between pedicure patrons. I love my files and orange wood sticks etc that are opened new for me, and come home with me afterward! Big comfy chairs off the main rooms are easy to relax into. Someone will get you tea or whatever you like to drink and that's a nice service touch that I don't need much but like when it is offered. Celina is a masterful wax esthetician. When she was booked once I tried Marianne and Isabel and both were also fantastic. Each strip is a new stick. No Double Dipping! I like that there is a deeper bench of talent. Mani/Pedi's - Nicole and Christina were faves but not sure they are there still. Would go more often but the cost is reasonably high-end. Watch for monthly specials. No other place I would trust with the waxing. I selected moderate but getting pricey. 5 stars! read more

i'm not a big salon person, don't die my hair or get my nails done regularly. but on the occasion that i splurge on any service it is the facials at renu day spa. the technicians are professional, pleasant and absolutely the best at getting your skin glowing. they do the perfect mix on cleaning/extractions, massage, masks and product. i've had a few different techs throughout the years and all of them have been spectacular. they also have later hours which is super convenient for all the beauty divas with day jobs. highly recommend. read more
