Inspector only found one issue they came back to fix and completed installing trim pieces. Didn't have trim to cover screw holes on one window, some trim pieces not installed correctly and didn't clean windows! Wife and I used razor blade to scrape caulk off windows, scrubbed black marks off window frame, and vacuumed shaving and dust from installing window screws! I can hear every car that drives past. They've no called so many service appointments that I've lost count. My kitchen renovation was completed on 3/11/2026. at the time they were missing 3 cabinet doors and some drawer glides to complete. After many unanswered phone messages and one attempt to complete I am still missing drawer glides and a cabinet door. I would recommend that anyone in the process of a kitchen with them not make final payment until install is complete. Better still get someone else. Purchased six new Pella double pane thermal windows. Very nice windows and everything was fine up until installation. Installers move one window in to far leaving me unable to rehang our vertical blinds, can't even hang the new blinds we ordered until the window head, stool and jambs are built out which won't be cheap. The installers also use a dull circular saw to cut out the old aluminum frame damaging the window tiles in the master bathroom. Better quality blade with 60-80 teeth or reciprocating saw would have avoided the damage. The icing on the cake was how our newly completed landscaping was left damaged and full of debris. Glass and screws were also found in the driveway after the install team left. Bottom line, great windows but horrible training for installers. It took a little more than a day and half days to install six windows, normally thats ten or more windows. This window company was awful . I wasn't ready and only wanted an estimate to think about and review my finances and get other quotes. The rep from the beginning was over confident and taking a really long time explaining things. she wanted to lock me in that day and I said I wasn't ready today and needed to think things over . she got aggressive in demeanor insulted me in my own house and scolded me. it was the worst and most unprofessional situation I have ever encountered . Her coworker she was with didn't say a word. I stood up walked towards door and I said goodbye this getting very uncomfortable and unprofessional .She insulted me bullied me and took it personal because I didnt sign into a 23,000 job right away with out even giving me an itemized written estimate. We made an appointment with this company. We needed an estimate for new windows and doors. It ended up being a very disappointing experience and like Oprah Winfrey always said: "when something is not right, first it's a little drizzle, then pouring rain, and then it's hail!" Everything about this company was off. First of all, when making the appointment, they demanded that all home owners were present during appointment. The salesman was not professional. He talked about everything except windows at first. Maybe he was trying to build a relationship with us, but honestly, we informed him that one of us was working from home and that we would just like the estimated costs. The salesman did not get the hint. He asked me about my religion! He talked about the origin of our last name! He brought up so many off topic issues, I can't even list them all. He had a suitcase with two examples of windows (vinyl frame and aluminum frame). He talked more than he listened. It was extremely difficult to get information from him. Maybe he would prefer to be a stand up comedian or actor. The salesman mentioned that he had a blueprint of our home and that he would get all of the measurements from there. Eventually, when he was tired of hearing himself talk, he left. He promised he would email us an estimate for the work. Days later, we did not receive any information from FHIA. Then someone from the company called me, asking if we would like to have a representative come to our home for an estimate. What nonsense! The original salesman spent over one hour talking in our home! We refuse to have anyone else from FHIA remodeling come near our home. The worst thing is, this company was highly recommended by a neighbor! I guess the quality has gone down the drain. The Salesperson told me since FHIA wouldn't be using subcontractors or outside suppliers for my work, they would not submit the Construction Lien if I paid in full prior to installation of my hurricane windows and doors. I paid in full days prior to the installation. FHIA still submitted the Construction Lien on my property. Now, I must jump through many hoops to get this rectified. Needless to say, "I'LL NEVER RECOMMEND FHIA TO ANYONE!!!!" Florida State Statutes does not require a Construction Lien if a job is paid in full to the contractor when no subcontractors or outside suppliers will be used on the construction job. I would have selected negative stars. I was taken advantage of. We were looking for quotes on storm windows after our home was hit by two tornados. To replace the windows, we were going to need to put new shutters on. We ended up with an appointment with a salesperson. The salesperson is a dirty word to me. I do not like being sold on anything. I like to have straight-up information to gather additional information and make informed decisions. However, this guy would not leave our home even when it was time for my husband and daughter to go to work. He would have a number for half our house; then he would lower it with some BS discount. Then, when my husband had to go to work, he had to run our credit, or we would miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime price. Then wala, we saved another 1500. He ended up having me sign these documents on an iPad mini while he was holding it, giving me no opportunity to hold the iPad or read what I was signing. I was left feeling extremely uncomfortable. No one should even use sales tactics on other people where they want the answer and agreement then and there. My husband and I like a lot of information and research and enjoy discussing the outcomes together. Days later, my phone rang off the hook from random people from FHIA. Not only do I not like to be sold, but I do not like pushy people or people calling me. I work full-time and go to school. What I was looking for was three quotes from three different contractors for the same work that we could submit to our insurance company, Finally, I told my husband we must call these people back now instead of waiting until our day off. I found a signed document that I could not read on the iPad. He did not even let me look or read my signed documents. Sentences were grouped differently, etc. After being trapped on the phone, I hope my husband got us out of this because the 'contract' I read in my email said we only had three days to back out, or we would have a lease on our house and need to pay them $33,000. I did hear him tell my husband some BS about a handshake. When a man tells another man something about a handshake, it is usually some BS chauvinistic power thing they believe is an agreement. I do not like it when someone forces a handshake on me. It is a means of pushing their agenda on you. It is even worse when they call it a gentleman's agreement. What a scam! We are in the market for a new roof and have been gathering information and quotes from various companies. Contacted FHIA to schedule an evaluation and quote. First appointment was scheduled for Thursday, April 18 at 6:00. At 6:30, no one had arrived and I called to check the status of the worker. I was told that my appointment was canceled for unclear reasons, the representative profusely apologized and asked if we could reschedule. Okay, no problem, set up another appointment for Tuesday, April 22 at the same time - and once again no one showed up, this time they told me car trouble. If this company can't even keep an initial appointment (after a second chance), I can't imagine how they could handle a roof replacement! Best to look elsewhere. read more

Very cautious dealing with any contractor in Florida since I constantly hear about scams. My experience with this company was quite the opposite. Friendly and knowledgeable sales rep came and met with us. He took the time to explain the process and do a thorough walkthrough of our house. He measured things, acknowledged the problems that we were concerned about and asked lots of questions. When we were finished he explained our window and door options, laid out payment options and explained everything in great detail. A few weeks later they installed our new hurricane windows and doors and we could not be happier! We have already recommended them to friends and family. I did not have a good experience with FHIA pertaining to the whole installation of my windows and slider. The installers had to come back several times to clean the slider frame, and window frames which had grease, smudges and what appeared to look like scratches all over the windows and sliders. There was slight damage to the bottom of the inside slider frame which they tried to repair. You can still see that it was damage because of the chalking they used to try to repair and cover it up. The chalking inside and out looks so unprofessional, and looks like someone just beginning to know how to do it. It looks terrible and even inside where they chalk each window. I probably could of done a better job. The reason for the sloppy work is that the FHIA send back 1 worker to chalk the inside window frames and he brought either his girlfriend or wife to help. How unprofessional is that. And if you look at the chalking job, you will agree with me. They used to much of it on the inside as well on the outside. After the workers left, I noticed indented scratches on the inside of frame of the slider. They send the installers back and they used 2 different types of a product called Gator 180 prepare and 220 finish sanding sponge. Who allows their workers to do this king of sloppy unprofessional work. I feel sorry for the workers, because they are getting pressures to hurry up and complete the work. Before having the workers come back, I first talked with Paul, and at the end of the conversation, he tells me IF my workers can make it there, we can fix it because they are coming from Miami. Not my problem. You took the job knowing that I lived almost 2 hours away. I replied, IF you can make it. Let me remind you that this is costing me almost 28K and IF you can make it, that is unacceptable. So I talked with Jennifer who straightened out that particular matter. I also talked with Ralph, and during my first conversation with him, at one point he was getting all bent out of shape, to which I had to tell him that I am not raising my voice and so please calm down. And he is one of the guys that is in the top chain of command of FHIA. When the workers finally finished everything, Ralph made me feel like, OK we are finished, and you're happy. It reminds me of, we got another one and let's move on to the next victim. I am also dissatisfied with myself for caving into the pressure that Tom the salesman put on me to get me to go with this company. He didn't have the decency to let me obtain other quotes from different companies, but used the pressure sales pitch on me, and told me that I would not get the discounts that he was offering to me. How stupid was I to fall for that kind of tactic. All companies that I have ever dealt with know the potential customers are going to get a few quotes from other companies. How unprofessional and dirty of using that tactic of potential customers. After all of that non-sense ended, I called the company back and talked with the receptionist and Jennifer another day, and both of them told me that either Ralph (whom I do not wish to talk too) or George will call me back. As of today, it is more or less 1 week since that call and not one of them called me back. The only thing now that I have to deal with, is any repair, or malfunction that might happen in which this company (FHIA) will have to come out to repair it, based on the warranty. WARNING!! True Story! Stay away from FHIA out of BJs. Seriously! BJs should be embarrassed. They are not reliable or honor their craftsmanship warranties without reporting them to the BBB which I had to do to get them to make repairs. I can only imagine the drama if a hurricane broke the windows to get them to honor the warranty without hidden charges. I hired FHIA to install hurricane impact windows a little less than a year ago. 7 windows - $14,000 dollars. 3 weeks later I see they missed a bunch of spots leaving cracks for water to get in because they didn't do the caulking properly. So I called and they came out and caulked what they missed. 2 months later I noticed the framing around the windows was buckling and coming apart. Allot! In turn water was seeping into the walls of the house. Turns out they had nailed the framing around the windows instead of using screws on the upper wooden part of the house. In a hurricane they would have blown out for sure. I called to get them to make repairs and they said they would arrange to have someone come out. Called 3 times over 3 weeks same thing and never heard from them again after the calls. So, I reported them to the BBB. Next day I get a call and a few days later they came out and made repairs. Moving forward now 9/16/25 I have a leak in the front windows which showed up because of the hard rain we have had lately so I called FHIA to come out and make repairs. Someone came out 1day later but 3 hours before the appointment time, never called first and I was not there. Spoke to him through my Ring. He said he would call tomorrow and reschedule. Yea right! 1 week later nothing. Next, I get a text stating they do not warranty their caulking job and for $75 / $150 they would come out not even knowing what the issue was to caulk. I am done with this company and you will be too if you hire them. They don't care! I will try to fix the issue myself and if not I will be making another report to BBB. TLDR: Had a wonderful first exposure to Florida Home Improvement Associates. This review is based on the sales presentation, as we did not actually purchase anything from FHIA ------------ I was shopping in BJ's Wholesale Club and a woman approached me and asked me if I wanted a free estimate on hurricane windows for my home. After I was prequalified by the appointment setter (she had to make a call for this), I was all set for my salesman to appear at my house at 10:00am on Saturday. By the way, you have to have at least 5 windows and your spouse or the decision maker has to be with you or they will not, as they say, "waste their time". Our sales rep, Gabriel, arrived 10 minutes late (he did send a text to let us know). Gabriel was very knowledgeable and professional. He answered all our questions and brought in samples of the 2 window lines that his company carries. He was not high pressure and we felt very comfortable with him. We let him know upfront that we just wanted to get an estimate and we had to prioritize our budget. He was ok with this and gave us a fair verbal estimate. As many of the other reviews had mentioned, FHIA does not give you a written estimate and they only give you a price to see in a notebook. This is because they are in a VERY highly competitive business and they do not let you shop equal product prices. They do not manufacture their products. FHIA represent 2 window manufacturers that other companies also represent, so unless you actually contract with them, they will not give you an itemized breakdown on their stationary. Making it impossible to shop for like-for like. Our verbal price estimate for just our back windows and the sliding glass doors was $41,000. WOWZA! I cannot speak for the other sales people at this company... but our sales guy, Gabriel, was a cool guy. He kept a good attitude, even though he left our house without a $40,000 sale. Finally, We were advised that our 2 story house (3200 sq ft. ) for all windows and doors (except the garage doors, 3) would be around $60,000. You be the judge. read more

We contracted to have five CWS high impact windows installed by FHIA. The windows were all seriously defective when FHIA brought them to our home. Fortunately we inspected them prior to their installation. We refused to allow the installation. Had we not inspected the windows the installers would have installed the defective windows. This was five of five windows that were bad. After numerous conversations with FHIA we agreed to let them reorder the windows. They ensured us they would inspect them before delivery to us. Months later they came to install and again all five CWS windows had major issues. It was very apparent that FHIA did not inspect the windows as they promised they would. We have used this company for 3 houses. We had them come and paint the new house with Text Coat paint job, never paint again. 33,000 $ big house. They were done very quickly and left. 1 Year and the paint was bubbling on one wall. They did not prepare the wall correctly. I've been try to get them to fix their mistakes from September. 1: they didn't Measure the kitchen window location correct now I have almost a 2 inch gap 2: when they where installing my windows they cut into my kitchen counter took a example but yet to hear from anyone 3: the caps to hide the wall screws are missing. What's the purpose of the questionnaire before the phone call if they have to come to the house any way? Hiring FHIA for the job to redo 95% of my windows in my house was a big investment for my family. So to know the job was done right and without problems goes a long way. That being said, there were many issues and I have still not been compensated for the uncleanliness and throwing away of my property. I was told to take over financing before a check was cut to me, this is now 14+ days with upholding my portion of the agreement with nothing done from FHIA. - The wrong widows were ordered. I have a 2-story home and upstairs is wood frame and downstairs is concrete block. For some reason 3 of 7 windows that were a part of the wood frame half of the house were incorrectly ordered and incorrect permits requested of the city/county. Also, because they were trying to work quickly they pulled out one of the 3 that didn't have a correct replacement, installed it to the frame, and kept it there until the new replacement windows came in 4+ weeks after. This should've been caught before the window was removed. Also because of this incorrect order, this also caused issues with permitting and had to be resolved with the city/county with delays. - My house was left messy. There were shards of aluminum and debris from the old windows left in my carpet. It took my wife and I 2 hours to clean this plus the dirty handprints left on the walls. I was told this is construction so there is dirt. I was also told we will have cleaners paid for but that is yet to happen. The complaint on lack of cleanliness and overall respect for our home was made inbetween the original installation date and the second correct window installation date. Even then, the black handprints were left on the surrounding walls after the second installation as well with no attempt to clean them. - Accordion shutters were thrown away. My old accordion shutters were thrown away when I told them specifically to leave them in my garage. No excuses, just not paying attention and didn't listen to what I told them. I contacted the project manager Paul Cristea about this and he told me to ask the workers if they knew what happened. When they confirmed they mistakenly threw them away, Paul said that this is hearsay. - Project manager was hard to get a hold of. Paul Cristea, the project manager wasn't responsive and hard to get a hold of throughout the process. When I encountered these issues and contacted him, his mailbox on his work phone was conveniently full. Paul was also pressuring me to call the finance department after the windows were installed before the inspection, I was clear the job isn't completed until inspection but I think they wanted to close out their job before it was completed. - No follow through and compensation for damages. Frank Abate, project manager Paul Cristea's boss, also attempted to resolve these issues but never followed through. Basically keeping empty promises for cleaners and solutions. I am still waiting for FHIA to complete their portion of the project by upholding their promise to cut a check for these. Note: This is not about installation. It's only about sales. Since we're in hurricane season, I've been considering getting better windows. On my way out of BJ's, a sales rep convinced me to set up an appointment for an estimate. After the rep drilled into my brain that I MUST answer the phone to confirm the appointment, someone from their call center indeed followed up. My appointment time rolls around, and there's no one at my house. 30 minutes go by, and I call to ask.. what the heck. They put the fear of God in me to be available, and they're not even here. Long story short, apparently the sales guy got in an accident. That's absolutely awful, and luckily no one got hurt. Ok, so I shouldn't fault them for that. We reschedule, a rep gets to the house on time. He was at my house for at least THREE hours. Talking about quality of windows blah blah. I finally get to the cost, which was confusing bc it seemed like it was only 2 options. For 13 windows and 2 sliding glass doors, the highest price was $27,000. The lower option was $21,000. According to the rep, it would be much less without the sliding glass doors. Unfortunately I don't know the exact price, because this dude who spent THREE hours never followed up. I even emailed him to see if he would send an itemized quote. Anyway, I was on the fence about getting windows anyway, especially since the cost seems astronomical. I do not recommend this company at all. They may have been a decent company before going corporate but they have poor communication internally (that's putting it nicely). Not to mention I had call, complain, and request that someone leave me a voicemail when they call me because they weren't even doing that. As for the service, my marble window slab was broken (found that out after the fact because they conveniently moved my sofa back and never told me about it). That is my fault for not being up there a$$ while they were in my home. However, keep in mind they sent 2 employees who didn't speak English (correction, one spoke broken English) and I couldn't communicate with them. They left my daughter's window completely open, with nothing to protect the room from the rain that had started pouring down. I had to go lay down towels to protect my walls, baseboards, and floor. Proceeded to find broken glass for 2-3 weeks proceeding the install. I have to go back over their work and re-caulk the windows because there's gaps and cracking between the window and the frame. I cannot express enough how much I do not recommend this company. I had a lengthy conversation about the blatant disfunction that company has. They clearly don't have proper SOPs established. They don't provided and itemized quote as well. Please keep in mind, my husband was the one who chose this company and he said he will never pick the contractor again. They are extremely expensive and I still have no idea what the breakdown, out of the over $20k+, for 8 windows is. read more

I don't know if I sounded like I was snarling or growling every time I called, I don't know but our experience has been exceptional. I can say that installation went smoothly. 3 stars for communication.....I had to call more than I cared to do for an update. I even made an eyebrows furled called the YGRENE folks (home improvement finance program we used)......the uneasy few weeks of radio silence with our primary sales contact, whether intentional or not, made hubby nervous and he backed off calling and texting the guy. But then after a month or so I couldn't take it and I "went in", making all kinds of calls until I got some answers. They took my calls and finally told us they were waiting for their best set of installers to have the time to do our particular job. 8 stars for sending their best installers. Should I mention them? G and D. Professional, efficient, calm, on time every day, amazing at what they do. We had a whole buncha openings, including they had to install a beautiful double door out of a totally mysterious fake double door with a surprise concrete wall........we were all like, "WTH????" #dumbpreviousbuilderwork, maybe #ownercreativedooridearequest, perhaps...who knows...... The guys pulled it off, and the company made sure we didn't suffer because of it. The company made it work. The guys started and finished as promised, 3 days 29 openings. Inspector came out, D was here tightening/smoothing/fine-tuning......passed. D then finished capping the screws to all the doors and windows, final cleaning as he went.
