As a military retiree, I am familiar with do-it-yourself auto shops, and how they operate. This DIY shop is no different from those in the military, as it provides its customers with the tools necessary to perform every repair you can think of, and staff at one's disposal to answer any repair related question that may arise. For instance, I was replacing the brake pads on my corvette, and the owner provided me with a few pointers on how to do the job more efficient. Also, as I was making my repairs, the owner was working on additional repairs to my corvette, that was above my skill set (i.e., Flush the brake lines, and flush the radiator to meet manufacture standards). As mentioned above, this particular shop functions as a Do it yourself shop, as well as regular auto shop, whereby one can drop off one auto for regular repairs and maintenance. In a world of shady businesses, this one is truly a gem in the rough, as he's HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY. This monkey is the worst auto repair shop I've been to i took it there to fix my muffler it had a hole he change the pipe never connect the 2 pieces I took it back told him it makes too much noice and he said it must be another hole somewhere else he never checked 2 months later I make a u turn and the pipe came off from where it was sitting I take it to another mechanic and he puts a couple of clams and no more noise and I had to pay another 100 dollars to fix it what he did was not to canect the the muffler how can you give the car back like that besides all this he overcharge don't go there is like THE BLINE LEADING THE THE BLINE read more

This place is really neat, if you want to work on your car, but don't have the tools or a lift, go here! They have manuals to all different types of cars, a nice garage space for you to work, and people to help you out. They also do window tinting, that includes a lifetime warranty as long as you own the vehicle. Me and my mom brought her truck here to get tinted (we did not use the garage for any repairs, so I'm just going by what I seen). I went to this place twice and the first time was ok, the second time was only a week later. The new policy is you have to take one of their tool boxes and get charged for it and they hold your DL, if any item is missing from the box you pay $10 for each piece missing which is ok if you do lose something but if you bring your own tools, before was ok now you get strong armed to using theirs. Your setup time is also not included so you pay for that as well and if you touch the air impact to just get your lug nuts off you pay for that as well... read more

Amazing experience! A repair that was quoted at almost $2000 ended up costing less than $150 thanks to Junior and his team. Ok, so Jesús and Héctor were the personnel I interacted with the most. I came here after being highly disappointed with my previous mechanic. A friend of mine suggested I would come here. I do not regret it. I was in search for a mechanic so of course I use my handy dandy Yelp app. I found this place and saw that it had great reviews. I called prior to stopping by and the woman over the phone was super helpful. I stopped by the following day early in the morning around 9am. It was a bit hard to find as it is kind of hidden. As soon as I walked in, the woman upfront told me that the mechanic was not in as of yet because he had an emergency but he would probably be in by 10:30am. There was an older gentleman sitting up front (looked like a mechanic) as soon as he heard about my situation he immediately said "I don't know how to use the machine") Let me explain my situation, I have a Toyota Corolla 2010 and my check engine light, the VSC OFF and traction are all blinking so I needed to find out what the issue was and what I needed to do to get it fix or have them fix it. This is why he right away said he didn't know how to use the machine to check the codes. That right away seemed strange to me since he looked like a mechanic. The woman told me I had to come back but I told her I could leave the car because my wife was with me in her vehicle. She told me she would CALL me when they figured out what the code was. My wife and I left and had breakfast at Keke's in the Loop. We waited and waited and around 12pm I started to call the shop but got no answer and I think I called around 10 times after that but mind you I waited several minutes before calling back. Then FINALLY she picked up. She said "Oh... yes... "you can come get your car they put the machine and nothing came up its your gas cap like you said" mind you I then told her I don't know what else to do she then advise me to get the gas cap from the dealer (I had replaced it with an off market brand from Advance auto parts). I went to pick up my car but it looked like they never even moved it which made me think all they did was reset the code which only turns off the lights for a few days. So I went in to get my keys and I then asked again so what happens if the lights come back on? and she said "I don't know".... I truly felt like I just wasted my entire day for NOTHING. Which was bad because I even called out of work just to try and get the car fix or at the least find out what I need to do. I believe that if you are going to fix your own car then this is your place to go BUT as far as if you are looking for a mechanic well this might not be the place for you. As it was not for me, I actually felt like I didn't get ANY help. Mind you I traveled FAR just to go to this shop because of the high ratings on Yelp. So after I spent my day waiting, I then went to Haines City and stopped at the Toyota Car dealer ship and purchased a Toyota Corolla 2010 gas cap. SO here we are five days later and guess what? The lights are (But of course!) back on. Now I am at square 1 but this time I need to find another shop that is closer with more than 1 mechanic on hand. I get that some other folks has a great experience but I now can see it was because they just use the shop to fix their own car as for me I am NO mechanic and actually was in search for one, so if you are then this will not be a good spot for you BUT if you are fixing your own then hey check them out. If anyone knows of a shop closer to Davenport that is good please reply to me I would greatly appreciate it I am afraid I will get stuck sooner or later. read more

I was stuck on the side of the road due to my jeep overheating. I was unfamiliar with the area, but found DITY on Yelp so decided to have my jeep towed there. It was a great choice. Oscar was able to check out the car and diagnose the problem within minutes. He offered to drive us to a plaza nearby where we could grab a bite to eat and then he picked us up when the car was finished! The price was very reasonable and he didn't waste any time. I came in today at 0830 and was immediately greeted by jesus. He walked me around the shop to get me acquainted with the equipment and safety and then I was on my way to removing my stock headers and installed some aftermarket ones. My installation was a breeze with the car lifted and using their pneumatic tools. One of the shop guys gave me a hand a few times free of charge and I will definitely come back here again. My family drove down to florida from pennsylvania in a rental van. When we entered florida the air conditioning stopped working. Our rental company referred us to the DITY auto repair to have it inspected. This was on a sunday afternoon and Jesus was there he ran a test, and charged the ac system. I couldn't believe junior wanted to charge me $349 for a battery, in which I mentioned yesterday was only 4 months old, and installing! I am sorry but I was very disappointed to know he was even charging for use his tools! $50 to diagnose, $93 for hour work, "says $136 for battery" and $61 for using his tools lol! Then told me it I need two tires for 109 if I want a warrenty! Then basically called my car garabage by saying, " I could have wrote an estimate of $1,000 for repairs to your car" also didn't even call me back yesterday to let me know the update while I called over 10 time last from 2pm -5:30! Horrible customer service. Also left garbage in the front passenger seat and back seat, in handed it right to junior. Also the front hood was not closed properly and the window was left open. Btw This guy wrote me bragging about his college degree and better business ratings lol! I wish I could do that at my business.
