My experience here was extremely disappointing. I asked several times for pricing on a phone case and screen protector, but the employee repeatedly avoided giving a clear answer, saying only that it would be a "good price." Without confirming the cost, he took my phone and applied the screen protector. Only after the third request did he say the total would be $90, including a wallet case made of acrylic that was not worth anywhere near what he implied. When I declined the purchase, I was told the screen protector could not be removed and the employee became defensive. I ended up paying $40 for a screen protector I never agreed to at that price. This experience felt misleading and pressured. I recommend others be cautious and insist on exact prices upfront. read more

Yes- they come to your house to fix a cracked screen which is a good thing to do during this COVID times, but don't get scammed like I did and get the screen protector which they promote for extra money, which they claim is NASA technology and fool proof. In less than a week my protector bubbled up and peeled. Called and told them the situation and they stated that it has never happened to them before but for for the same price they will happily put another protector on the phone. Excellent repair work is tainted by cheesy sale tactics and multiple reminders to leave a 5-star yelp review. As you can tell, I don't write too many reviews, but since they insisted, I felt it'd be proper to oblige. I smashed the glass on my iphone 5 nearly beyond recognition. I was in and out in under 25 minutes with my phone looking brand new for $100, which could have been done for $90 if I wasn't too lazy to print the promotional yelp coupon. 5-stars for the repair! Incredibly fast and convenient for less money than my Asurrion (spelling?) insurance plan co-pay would cost ($150) During my wait, the two sales people working the counter tried to sell me headphones (good luck selling an audiophile some sparkly garbage), a portable micro ghetto blaster (again, good luck with that), and a myriad of phone cases. It just made the experience uncomfortable. I don't like telling somebody "no" that many times. Also, it's annoying answering questions about my tattoos and plugs, not endearing. Get over it, they're not that cool and not that unique. The amount of information they needed to take down to write me up a receipt seemed wildly unnecessary. Why do you need my address, email, service provider and phone number if I'm paying for a one-time, non-refundable repair in cash? It started out with smashed display on my Galaxy S3. After a couple of hours the screen was fixed. The repair guy was helpful and informative. I liked the price and the convenient location. After a couple of days the phone stopped working and I was beside myself. After returning to the store I had them evaluate the repair job. I came back and they said that it needs to be repaired and would cost about another $20 or so but the owner said he would make it right, needing to order a part for the second repair. I was skeptical since if it had been done right the first time I wouldn't have needed to come back. After taking a step back on this situation- that he is a sole proprietor and not a chain - that he has to keep his business running. I got that after I left the shop. So I waited a few days and dropped off the phone. Well the phone was repaired and the additional cost was minimal compared to buying a new phone at retail price. The repair guy said that the repair was not done right the first time. Now he's human and that admission goes a long way to his (and the store's) credibility and my return business. Happy ending to a situation that lasted over a week to get my phone repaired. The repair price I felt was fair and I could have gone to Manhattan to get it repaired. Figuring in the convenient location and quickness of service I think this store is a great value. Add in the fact that they are able to serve the high Latino population in the area gives them major pluses. (Note: I generally do not give out five stars unless I get lots of extras and they really exceed my expectations. They would get 4+ in my book.) read more

Awful! Do not trust them with repairing your iPhone screens!! Paid them to replace my daughter's - before we left the store she was noting how much darker it was than the original. We got home and she found the phone now had ideas of its own so we planned on going back the next day but that night it fell off the couch onto the carpet & lo & behold the screen cracked! When we brought it back into RepairXpert they said "look at the sign, it says right there the screen will not be the same quality as Apple's" I suggested it should at least last a week & they said they'd talk to management about it. "Management" offered me 1/2 off a new screen but 1/2 off of crap is still crap so we bit the bullet and went to Apple to get a new screen. Going to Apple for the real deal is well worth the extra $30 - sadly it cost me $120 to learn that. Stay away from RepairXpert! read more

My computer randomly (at least seemingly) froze a couple days ago. I had to manually restart my computer with the power button. After I restarted it, my computer would not get past the opening windows screen. It would usually just freeze and after a couple more trys, I was greeted with an error message that says: Windows has has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurrred. this is what happen to my laptop and the repair expert had install a corrupt window7 where i took there and they cannot fix it and i will not recommend anyone to go there anymore because they will damage your laptop also they do not have any part and they expect you to buy the part and they fix it. and i will recommend you should go to any microsoft store in your location. where they can fix your laptop very well and it will last for a long time also i make a report to police because of the assault they did to me. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE I had the most stressful excruciating experience here. All I needed was my surface laptop screen fixed and it turned into a 6 month process. First, they fixed it and my screen no longer was touchable because it was bouncing on its own. Then, they charged me 50$ extra on top of the 260$ for the screen. This all took three months in the middle of finals too. I dropped it off in March. It is JUNE and I have no refund. Still did the same thing bouncing. No change. And they said they were gonna issue me a refund and have yet to do so. I'm going to dispute with my cc company I have enough evidence, video and transactions. I promised these guys I'd write a review and I am thrilled to do so. I mutilated my S3 and actually started the process of comparing prices on buying a new phone outright or cancelling with Sprint and moving to another provider to get a new S3 (or S4). As a last ditch effort, I called three places in the area who claim to fix phones. One was a frigging barbershop in New Rochelle, another was in Elmsford but the dude who answered the phone spoke barely any English, and then there was Repairxpert. They won the sweepstakes. My phone was fixed in four days (Which is fine since I thought it was totalled) at a fair price. $200 is a lot to spend on a repair but look up the repair kit; it cost only a little bit less and the repair is not as easy as the YouTube videos make it seem. All in all, a true joy to deal with them and I hope that if I ever see them again, it is because I am buying something new, not because I am a moron who drops my phone once a day. Had I written this review exactly at the time of the disaster, It would have been x rated.. My 'repair" took the better part of a MONTH , and never happened, I finished up the month with the same screen I started with and I had to go to Mc/Visa initiate a chargeback to get the prepaid $ 145 back. ( I had documented everything and Mc Visa agreed with me ). I was misled into thinking this was a great company because of the good reviews I read. I discovered that if you have an I Phone you stand a good chance of being happy. If you have something else? in my case an LG 2, do not trust them. They haven't a clue. When I went there, ( a good distance from the Bronx area) I told the tech I had an error message saying the screen was damaged, I showed a photo of the error message. He told me I needed to reset the phone . What? And lose data.! and how much $ ??? no, I should have left then seeing his misdiagnosis.. there was just a blind spot at top of screen when I balked about resetting the phone he went to speak to someone else.. finally decided I only needed a new screen . Duh. I think that was a thurs, I paid express service upcharge of about $ 25 to get new screen fast, The following week Tues eve they installed 'new screen' and closed the shop for the evening ,As soon as I got into car I realized it wasn't working right and left for business trip the following morning for a week with a phone they hadn't tested. Unbelievable. FINALLY they decided perhaps the new screen was defective, now reordered it but it took forever to arrive because they said LG wouldn't express it ( although I'd paid for express initially) I was left with a phone that was worse than I started with during this time. so I waited and waited and returned etc.. what happens? I had similiar issues with the Supposedly NEW 2nd screen!!! weeks after Beginning this nightmare, Repair NON-Xpert said my motherboard needed work, and that it was NOT a screen issue, and that they had done their job and they were keeping my $ 145. because they had installed a new screen.( Ha ! the old one only had a blind spot, now my 'repaired" phone had worsened issues) Realizing that in life you get further if you don't lose your temper, I did not. However, this REPAIR NON X PERT was clearly being blase about this. When I complained about the passing of weeks.. the management was snooty... condescending !.. there was no comprehension of the inconvenience ( I use this for work, I don't play games) I've been an owner and sales manager in numerous companies and this place esp manager has NO finesse. no style, no savvy.I have had dozens of employees and no one like him would have been allowed to interact with MY customers. I've lost track of the number of trips from Bronx area to Portchester. I called Repair Expert, they ordered the part, came the same day to my house, after the part came in and took the phone back to the warehouse and in 30 min and $60 later the camera cover was repaired. Two for effort. Originally I gave 5 stars, but after my screen repair, my phone was inaudible. I took it back and a genuine effort was made to correct the problem, but no solution could be found. I was offered a free Bluetooth headset for compensation, but I don't use them and I wasn't interested in free stuff, just a phone I could talk on. After all attempts failed the manager (I assume) tried to suggest that the case I've had for the last 8 months was the problem, even though the only thing that had changed was the screen. He suggested maybe glass had somehow gotten lodged in there and was blocking the sound. I didn't get it either. He told me it couldn't possibly be the replacement part as only one company manufactures all the iphone 5 screens. As it turns out, there are 3 companies (Japan Display, Sharp, and LG) and defects have been documented from time to time (see google). He didn't want to try a different screen as they are too expensive, and he couldn't afford to take the hit. I guess I can sympathize as I paid over $130 for a replacement screen that can't emit sound through my case. After I was left with a phone that I couldn't use, I asked for a refund and my broken screen back. The manager said no to both and said it was my case ($100 otter box) that was the problem, even though it was the same case I had coming into the store. He did offer me some suggestions; he said I could try to buy another otter box and bring it in to see if the problem persist or take it another place, pay more money and see what they had to say. I give one star for the business practice. I'm sure they're technically skilled, but essentially I went in with a broken screen and left with a phone I can't hear, and management said that the cost was on me, the customer. So, if all goes well, you'll probably be ok bringing your phone here; however, if there's an issue, management says it's your risk. Wish I knew ahead of time. Beware. There is a warrantee, but warrantees are only as good as the people honoring them (or not). I gave the second star because the person I worked with initially tried to do the right thing, but clearly wasn't running the show, so he was limited as to what help he could give. read more

They replaced the screen on my iPhone 5 in August 2015. Right away it was suspicious to me because they want you to pay upfront; so you cannot complain when you see that the screen they use is not even close to the original one. I am not sure if this is legal, usually businesses provide service or show you the product before they take money from you. They charged me for iPhone 5 screen $100 and Apple store charges $129, so their price is big rip-off. They lied that screens they have are as good as the original ones. Not even close. It is much darker, colors are different, white is not white anymore, but greyish. Moreover, they did not properly installed the screen, it became wobbly, and after only 2 months it cracked by itself (it was not dropped or anything like that). Went into RepairXpert because it was close to my office to replace the glass on my iPhone 6. While the repair was fairly fast, it didn't take long for me to notice a blueish tint on the screen. Nothing was white any longer and it looked terrible when placed side by side with other iPhones. Maybe they get the screens from somewhere cheap? Who knows... Went back and held a normal looking iPhone next to mine and they agreed and replaced it. This time it was worse! While the color was better this time, it was barely on the phone properly and was clearly not installed well. I could see light coming through a crack between the glass and the phone itself... Almost like I could see the computer parts which are enclosed under the screen. I would go to Macinspires up the road and pay $10 more. read more

Screen on my IPhone 4s was replaced here and all seemed fine. The following day I noticed the flash light did not work the icon was grayed out and wouldn't turn on. Upon further inspection noticed the camera did not work either. Had it looked at by another technician ( not from this store) and he showed me the camera was not from a 4s and contacts did not mate together. Hence it was swapped out.Phone was also missing 2 internal screws. I returned to the store where they denied it and berated me. I had my phone fixed here twice. Both times they charged me $80 to fix the screen on the IPhone 5s. After 2 months the screen had dead spots and was not working. These guys didn't offer any solution (30 days only warranty). They only offer was to pay $100 to fix it. $20 more than I had paid initially. What made the experience even more unpleasant was the horrible attitude of the owners. I was asked to leave the store. If you want a great service, I suggest going to I fix 4u in North Main Street. The owner was very helpful and fixed the phone in front of me. This place takes it to the back, who knows what they do with your phone. Don't go to this place!! read more

Absolutely useless crew! I brought in my desktop PC which was randomly crashing, and after two weeks, they've asked me for the password, which means they didn't look at it for two weeks! It took them altogether 10 weeks to run tests and eventually do a backup and re-install Windows 10, only for me to experience the random crashes again when I finally had my computer back. (I am reviewing my experience with trying to fix a unique issue, so I am sure that the employees at Repair Xpert will know exactly who provided this review, if they read it ) What could have been a five star review of Repair Xpert turned into a one star condemnation. I took my smartphone into Repair Xpert last week to have the screen and frame repaired/replaced after they broke due to a drop on the pavement. The employee I spoke with, whom took my phone from me was pleasant and clear about what would be done with the phone. The cost of the service was inexpensive. I left Repair Xpert that day knowing exactly what to expect when I got my phone back. Unfortunately, my good experienced turned into a bad experience. I returned to Repair Xpert about a week later to pick up my repaired phone. The phone looked like new and was presented to me as such (like new). On the surface, everything was as I expected. When I got home to setup my phone, I noticed a strange issue. I was not able to use the NFC feature of my phone which allowed me to touch my repaired phone to the back of a temporary phone I was using, in order to transfer my account information (to make the phone transition quicker and easier). I used this feature prior to turning in my broken phone for repair in order to easily transition to the temporary phone. Although I knew the feature worked before I turned my phone in, I brushed off the fact that I was not able to use it to transition back as an anomaly. The next day when I was about to use my phone as I have for months at this point, as a source of music in my car, I touched the back of my phone to an NFC tag that I have on my car keys. The NFC tag is programmed to automatically disable the wi-fi on my phone, enable bluetooth and disable the screen time out. Upon doing this, I was expecting to hear the familiar chime from my phone, which lets me know that the NFC tag was recognized, the connection was made, and the commands were sent to my phone. I did not hear that familiar chime. Sure enough, none of what I had the NFC tag set to do happened on my phone. After trying to get the NFC tag to respond multiple times and verifying that I had NFC enabled on my phone, I came to realize that NFC on my phone was no longer working. This would explain why I was not able to use NFC to transfer my account from my temporary phone to my repaired phone. I called Repair Xpert to report the problem and ask them what to do. I was told to bring the phone in. I brought the phone in the next day and spoke to the same employee who apparently did the actual repair of my phone. He said that he did not touch anything related to NFC in my phone. He claimed he only moved the motherboard from my phone to a new housing. I believe that he did not purposely do anything to my phone to break the NFC function. However, NFC was working when I brought the phone in (I used it in my car and to transfer my account to the temporary phone on the day I brought the phone in for repair). I asked what could be done to fix the problem. It was at this point that I knew I would never return to Repair Xpert in the future. Repair Xpert would do nothing to fix the problem they definitely caused. The technician who did the repair opened my phone in front of me and proceeded to show me that my phone at some point in its nearly 2 year long life in my possession experienced some water penetration (the tab that indicates water penetration was pink). The technician proceeded to tell me that because there was some water damage that they were not responsible for whatever was now broken with the NFC function. To me this claim of water damage was irrelevant because again, NFC was working just fine when I brought the phone in for repair. On top of this irrelevant claim of water damage absolving Repair Xpert from taking responsibility for a partially malfunctioning phone that was in their possession, water damage was not mentioned to me once when I originally went to pick up what I thought was a repaired phone. The technician claimed that he did not mention it on the work order because then I would have been charged for it. I find this type of behavior to be indicative of a cheat. Why would I not be told of water damage when I went to pick of the phone? The water damage that the technician showed me proof of became a most convenient and timely excuse for why I would not be able to hold Repair Xpert responsible for breaking the NFC function on my phone. I left Repair Xpert disappointed and angry about my experience. Had Repair Xpert did the right thing and fixed the NFC function on my phone, free of charge, I would have written a five star review. Clearly, customer service is not important to Repair Xpert. Due to my poor experience with Repair Xpert I will never use their service again. If I am ever asked about who can repair phones and tablets in my local area, Repair Xpert will not get a recommendation from me. read more

He told me the repair would take around 45 minutes, which was perfect since I had a couple of quick errands to run locally. Came back in an hour or so and my phone was good as new!
