After having my kitchen demolished, I was quoted 10-12 weeks to get my granite slab shipped, and an additional 3-4 weeks for cutting and delivery. Yes, you read that right. 4 months. Obviously that wasn't going to work, so I set out to find another countertop locally. After calls around town, I was starting to accept the idea of no thanksgiving, no Christmas, no New Years events and I'd be lucky to have my house back by Valentine's Day 2022. Then I called Granite City. I spoke to a very nice lady yesterday who promised me they had slabs on site, and in my color scheme. I came in at 9am and thanks to Gena, in 20 minutes walked out with a quote that made me cancel my order with HD on the spot. I actually saw the granite we ordered and instead of waiting months for my templated granite to be cut, delivered and installed, it will be less than 2 weeks. Granite City has been a breath of fresh air in a horrible renovation.

That lady (older, strong accent) was not friendly either and begrudgingly showed us back outside where the slabs are located. There is not an indoor showroom like you'd think an Alaskan place should have! The ground all around the area was dirt and super muddy with puddles. Not ideal! The lady quickly walked us out to the slab area, looking incredibly annoyed, and within about 2 minutes she said "I'm going back inside I am cold". Maybe Granite City should supply their staff with winter coats if their customer area extends outdoors. All in all there was NOT an extensive selection (color-wise etc) to choose from, we did not find what we were looking for, and the entire visit wasn't pleasant at all. Sure we love our house but it is not perfect. The problem is with the people of spinell and the companies they contract out to. QUALITY IS NOT THE NAME OF THE GAME with Spinell. They blame pioneer door for installing a door with a dent in it, we didn't dent it, it was painted over. They won't do anything and they say pioneer won't replace it so too bad for us. The driveway is paved crappy, too bad for us. Carpet is trash. Coming undone, seems are visible, hard spots in random places, floors creak like it's 100 years old. The finishing touches on cabinets paint is missing,every cabinet is damaged with water damage(realtor bought us rubber mats for the kitchen sink cabinet to cover up the water spots but gave us damaged cabinets) the floors are installed with imperfections, the painting was the worst paint job I've ever seen. We've made them come back twice to paint and fix drywall and texture. They cut so many corners and our "11 month" fix it list is still ongoing after two years. I seriously cannot list all the things that bother me. Our house is ours and we got a say in a lot of what we did. Lesson learned on some stuff. Spinell does the bare minimum the. You have to pay for medium good stuff if not the highest. We tell Spinell what is wrong, they have to call K-&W, or whoever, they take months and months to come. The flooring guy fixes one floor panel and he damages another one. Now our flooring boards sit funny. We saw our carpet and flooring boards covered in water during the building process as there was water in the garage. The bathtub was installed with permanent markings . Two light fixtures installed with broken glass. The hot water literally takes 2 minutes to get warm when washing hands. We made them put in two sumppumps because our crawl space flooded after they told us we wouldn't need one. We are in the old gravel pit and are right next to the hill we get co start water flow, they did nothing to the land to irrigate before building. Other neighbors are right against the hill and have no backyard, their yard is eroding and almost has the sidewalk. Our neighbors house had so many cracks, uneven finishes, holes in their carpet, mixed match countertops installed. Ours wasn't any physical much only cosmetic. I could go on and on. The people of Spinell do not stand by their product and I wouldn't recommend them.

I ordered cabinets from one of the major outlets in town for a rental property. Originally we were…read moregoing to have the cabinets installed by the major outlet as well. The outlet sent a representative over to take measurements and then their contractor also took measurements. It took me 6 months to get the cabinets in after they were ordered. We decided to go with S7 services to install the cabinets instead of the outlet's contractor. Once the cabinets came in, S7 services came in and gave me a quote. They got to work right away and stayed on the job until it was completed. We found out that the original cabinet measurements were wrong because they didn't account for the width of a foundation wall. S7 quickly figured out a workable solution and completed the job in a timely manner, with quality work, and at the price they quoted. My wife and I are completely satisfied with the experience.

We chose S7 because of the beautiful work they did at our neighbor's house. This was a huge mistake as it is obvious that they either lost people or are taking on more than they can handle. The job was supposed to be no more than 6 weeks from December. It is now going on 3 months. excuse after excuse about staff and a separate company to paint a shelf and a door for over a month. Today they were hanging hooks drilling into the wall and scrapped up my pocket door. The man who did it is saying it was a preexisting sheet rock screw from years ago that only now decided to scrap our door and it isn't their fault. I am beyond frustrated. It has made this laundry room a nightmare Instead of a positive thing. It is really too bad as I think they would give high quality work if they paid closer attention to detail and quoted appropriately for time. We were On a waitlist for them in August and November was the start date pushed to start in December. If you do use them make sure "time is of the essence" is in your contract so they can't do to you what they have done to us.

We recently had an experience with Superior Refinishing, a shower and bathtub refinishing company,…read morethat we feel compelled to share. As apartment owners with experience managing over 16 properties, flipping homes, and renovating, we initially planned to replace the entire shower pan and walls ourselves. The estimated cost for the floor pan was $210, the walls $500, and a half day of our time. When we came across Superior Refinishing's services and received a quote of $750 after clearly expressing the scope of the project through an emailed video and a phone call where the walls were discussed, we were impressed with their number for the walls and shower pan and decided to proceed. The price was comparable to what we could have purchased the materials for ourselves and it would free up a Saturday of our time. However, after the individual performing the work left our home, we noticed only the floor pan was complete. After inquiring why only a partial job was done, we were informed that the price to do the floor pan and three shower walls would be $1,750. They then offered a "reduced" $1,400 price due to their miscommunication, which is still $650 more than the original quote. From a customer's perspective, one cannot help feeling that this is a "bait and switch." This is especially true because their website says "save 80% over installing a new tub." If we had known the $1,750 price at the beginning, we would not have proceeded. When we asked them to correct the issue, they sent us an email explaining they "do not do work for free," which was surprising to hear given they admitted to the miscommunication. We hope Superior Refinishing improves its business practices and ethics to avoid such issues in the future. Wishing them the best and a solid improvement in their operations.
