Tech didn't even try to fix it. Just tried to hide it.

Brought a double pane, wood framed window in for glass replacement. New glass is fine (Speedy Glass doesn't manufacture them), but the experience was terrible. First, when I arrived to pick up the window, the front desk has you sign the pick-up paperwork (including that the repair was satisfactory) BEFORE they bring your glass out. Dumb, but whatever. Well, wait! The sealant on my window is still wet! Also, the tech used clear sealant on one side of the window and gray sealant on the other!? Why? Oh, you don't know, and your tech isn't here? Plus, there's a chip of wood hanging off the window at the bottom of the trim! So I left the window with them over the weekend so the sealant could dry and they could repair the chipped wood. Got busy and didn't pick it up until Wednesday. Sealant is dry, did they fix the chipped wood? NO! I gave it a quick fingernail check and the chip popped right off the window! They didn't even try to glue it, just pressed it back into the window and hoped I wouldn't notice. Abysmal service and I will not be returning to this location. It's worth noting that I have had good service at other Speedy Glass locations in Anchorage in the past. Tech had the audacity to tell me the window is under warranty, as if I'd let them touch it again.

Replacement window to protect my car on a rainy day, and they cleaned up all the glass.

My rear quarter window was broken into, on my Subaru, and went to two auto glass places for estimates. I called first, but then decided to drop in and talk in person, because neither place had the part available in town. The first place was local, and gave an estimate twice as high as Speedy. I know you often get what you pay for, but as far as customer service goes, I think I lucked out. Melissa at the front counter seemed knowledgeable, and solution-oriented. She checked several places to see if the glass was available (it wasn't) then called the dealer to see what they could do. While she called and dealt with my insurance, she also had the shop gentlemen tape up my window and offer me coffee. She also warned me about mildew (it was raining,) so I should dry out my car as soon as I could. I could see the experience being different depending on who you get to help you, but I have to say, for this experience, Speedy Auto Glass held my hand through a pretty stressful situation, and made it as easy as possible for me. Thank you! I'd go again!

Neighbors was the highest price but they had great reviews and we talked with the owner when we first went in and got a good feeling and justified the price by telling ourselves - it we pay top dollar they prob do a great job and that would make it worth it. I have worked for a Millworker company before and have installed a bunch of doors but a shoulder injury has sidelined me. They said the doors were finally ready to install in August and two guys showed up to install them. The original quote was $5600 for the 4 doors and $2,000 per door to install / we got that down to $1,000 per door if I took off the old trim and put it back up myself. The one installer could not of been nicer to deal with and said he'd worked there for 3 years. Turns out all four doors were made with the wrong sweeps on the bottom, the locks were drilled wrong and the jams were routed incorrectly for the door latch plates. The first door they installed was very hard to close and the tenant was unable to operate it - I was advised to get a different door sweep at Lowe's which I did and it worked a little better. I hand chiseled out the doors to accept the lock hardware as it was getting late and I didn't want the tenants coming home and not being able to lock the doors. After they left we noticed our door made a very noticeable squeak when closing and my wife was unable to lock or unlock the doors- required pulling tightly on the door handle to be able to engage the deadbolt - 3 out of the 4 doors had that problem. Also noticed daylight coming through in several areas of different doors even though they had spray foamed and taped the doors. Went into Neighbors the next morning to discuss our issues and to cancel a down payment we had put on a garden door. Went into Neighbors were advised there would be a fee to cancel and that no one was available to try to fix our doors for another week and that they would have someone call about our other issues when they came in. The owner called us back and listed all the reasons the doors were made incorrectly - drilled wrong, wrong sweeps installed etc. No apologies but said someone would be out by the end of the week to address. Same installer came out and apologized for the issues ( only apology we received ) and he spent the day installing different sweeps, chiseling out for latch plates and completely re installing our door. After he left I still saw daylight in the lockset area of our door so I pulled off the flimsy tape on the outside and noticed big gaps in the insulation all around the door as well as multiple shims proud of the doors and requiring cleaning up before installing the trim. I pulled tape off all the other doors and they all had the same problems. By then we had given up on Neighbors being able to install the doors correctly and not wanting to inconvenience our tenants again our spend another day undergoing more "tweaking" I bought some spray foam and sealed all the doors correctly, trimmed off all the shims in and out and re taped the exterior with proper tape. I had asked the estimator right off the bat if they could center the doors in the opening so I could re use all the exterior trim that was made to fit inside the siding and he said should be no problem & I left it out for them to see - I had to remake it for 3 of the 4 doors anyway. I sent them an email that according to their website everyone would see outlining all our problems and mentioned the $200 we spent on trim, tape and insulation. A week later and no reply at all, they did call the same day we did finally cancel the door order and said there was still a difference of $200 from what we owed for the install and what we were refunded for the garden door. If your gonna charge top price to do a professional install and to make a correct door you better deliver , and when you fall short you should own it and not ignore it. Look elsewhere for your door need
