I do not recommend RSC. We spent months planning fertility treatment here, and too often the experience made us feel like a cog in a huge machine rather than people going through something deeply personal. I want to be fair about the people who were good to us. Leslie on Dr. Eisman's team was great, and Dr. Eisman herself was kind. Yani in finance was also kind and ultimately helped us resolve a very stressful insurance situation. Unfortunately, those positive experiences were outweighed by the broader experience we had with the clinic. I was scheduled for an IUI at the beginning of the new year after months of planning. Our insurance changed, and just three days before my cycle, Stephanie in finance told us it would need to be delayed. I found the way she handled the situation incredibly callous. There seemed to be no understanding of what it means to someone going through fertility treatment to have a carefully planned cycle suddenly put in jeopardy days beforehand. I pushed back, worked through the issue, and was ultimately able to get insurance approval and make the cycle happen. Yani was kind and helped get things resolved, and I am grateful for that. But the amount of stress the situation caused immediately before my IUI was awful and completely unnecessary. Fertility treatment is stressful enough without having to fight to keep your cycle moving at the last minute. I became pregnant from that IUI and later miscarried. The care I received following my miscarriage was very poor. I felt disregarded, and there was a painful lack of emotional care and compassion at one of the most difficult moments of my life. That experience was ultimately what made us decide to leave. After the miscarriage, finding new care felt critical. We transferred to Collab Fertility and could not be more grateful that we did. The contrast in personalized attention, communication, and compassion has been extraordinary. I only wish we had made the change sooner. read more

This clinic used an egg donor to create me. When I developed severe health issues, my mom called them to ask if they were in the family history. RSC refused to help, saying that they don't keep records (and unfortunately, donor conception clinics are not required to do so anywhere in the USA). It turns out that related issues ARE in the family history (NOT known at the time of donation, so they weren't in the records my parents received, but many years later), but I did not get to find that out from RSC. This endangered my life, and they did not care at all. This could happen to your family too! Please protect your children by not using an anonymous donor, so that they have access to ACCURATE AND UPDATED medical information. Nowhere in America are clinics required to verify the medical information that donors report, and they are not required to keep records, so you MUST do that work for your family yourself by choosing an open ID or known donor. Then even if RSC refuses to help you, you can keep your child alive and healthy. Their doctors are great, at least in my family's experience, but their ethics and their approach to donor conception are not. read more

I'm not even sure where to start as it's been an on going issue since the very beginning with RSC. I was referred to them by my OBGYN in June of 2021, but last year was our first year of actively receiving treatment and there has not been one month we have felt confident and comfortable with our treatment plan and team. After the repetitive negligence, time and time again.. (inaccurate billing, unlawful testing that my partner and I opted out of, multiple missed conception opportunities due miss/lack of communication on RSC's part. I can literally go on and on) we have now been told they no longer wish to help us with our journey and have sent us a document to sign that has the wrong names and refuse to change the document so we can sign it and take our care elsewhere. I have left voicemails, emails and messages asking for this form to be adjusted and they have completely ignored each and every request. Additionally they have repeatedly sent me inaccurate billing statements as they have me miss labeled me in their system as "Cash pay" as they don't take my insurance. However the lab they use, LabCorp,does in fact take my primary and my secondary insurance and RSC has yet to adjust the billing or even reach out to me to get things handled. There literally has not been one thing that has been handle correctly or with care throughout our time with RSC, and considering the about of time and money I have wasted waiting for RSC to get it together is completely baffling as time is precious to those in my position. I truly hope to help someone make a batter choice and AVOID this business, find a team who truly cares for you and your partner and your soon to be growing family! read more

The billing department and insurance claim department is the worst and very unprofessional. I sent out couple emails to explain what's going on how they did wrong with my claims and how they can correct it to receive the payment. I also confirmed with my insurance company, how to do it, what they did was wrong. Our previous clinic got all the payment without any problems. But RSC just keep doing the wrong thing and said it's denied. I already paid upfront, and waiting for the insurance claims to be settled so RSC can reimburse me. But this never happens. I am very disappointed. I already succeeded a cycle. Now I am thinking for future fertility preservation, I should consider different places. read more

This review is way over due, I was refereed to Dr Rosenbluth by my OBGYN and I'm so glad i made the appointment. He was compassionate, kind, respectful, very knowledgeable and his bedside manners were impeccable. I had a pleasure working with Heather and Mayra as a case manager and both ladies are so sweet and phenomenal. Marya is very responsive in responding to my calls and email. We got pregnant on the first try of iui and we had a healthy bouncing baby girl. I'll be forever grateful for this clinic, if it weren't for them, I don't think we will have this strong and lovely family. I'm currently going through them for baby number two. Ms Edessa has been such great help, she is sweet, empathy, and really love what she does. I will highly recommend this RSC, so far all the staff I've encountered are very professional and kind. The "Not Good" reviews are real. I wish I had given them more weight in my decision making. Unfortunately, working full-time while experiencing fertility issues in your late 30's/early 40s when time is gold, proved to take a toll on my capacity to do thorough research on IVF clinics and the overall topic of infertility. Knowing what I know now, I would have stayed away from RSC, started with integrative care and selected another clinic if needed. I assume the good reviews for RSC are by people who are younger than early 30's who just need a place to freeze their eggs. And anyone over early 30's, by absolute pure luck, had successful outcomes with RSC, not because the clinic is innovative, and customizing your treatment plan - the approach is one size fits all. There were many issues that came up from the start of my first cycle to the end of all completed cycles (3). I can write a lot on this but i'll bullet point a few examples of negative things we encountered: - Shady pre enrollment practice with their financing partner, promoting packages which benefit the clinic over the patient in our experience, even though it is marketed as saving you money - we paid more per cycle under this package than the value of a services we actually received. - Lack of consistent advice - Even though you select one endocrinologist when you sign up, we only had one in person encounter with them (by chance) and we ended up talking to any one of the many doctors who are on-call. We encountered very unsympathetic doctors who also second guessed the treatment plan we were given by our primary endocrinologist. We were also given conflicting advise from the on-call doctors compared with our primary on how to move forward with each cycle. - Unprofessionalism / Unkind staff - the admin team and other clinical staff left very much to be desired. I've been poked and prodded a thousand times before and for some reason I encountered the same nurse/phlebotomist who could not seem to draw my blood and had to stick me many painful times before giving up and having to get assistance. The staff openly talk about patients and their progress, saying out-loud who they feel sorry for not having enough follicles growing and who they are excited for... so privacy is a concern in addition to a disappointing quality of care. - I highly implore women with fertility issues to start with holistic integrative care. RSC did nothing to prep the body (other than expensive meds), they recommend more cycles rather than looking for underlying issues and there is a lot of research which shows the benefits of priming your body for pregnancy - things as simple as diet, supplements etc.... read more

AVOID RSC if at all possible. It has taken me six months after finishing with RSC to write this review because I needed to process the horrible experience. I did get pregnant, but that doesn't erase the following. The experience made my partner and me feel hoodwinked into being paying customers instead of supported patients. We came to believe places like RSC get away with bad communication, billing chaos etc because people in need of treatments are desperate and have few options. This exploitation seems reflected in the entire IVF industry as a whole. We were charged $7,000 for medication we DID NOT NEED or use. RSC ordered hormone treatment for me that was out of network. We got the phonecall that the meds were ready and didn't know any better, paid for it, under pressure to get the medication in time for the time-sensitive cycle. Then we were informed it was the wrong medication and RSC had subsequently ordered us meds IN-network. My partner argued with the RSC case manager for a month or two, and only got half of it refunded. Unbelievable. Then RSC didn't fix their process and CONTINUED to order me the same wrong meds. That med company continued to call me to say my next hormone meds were ready to be paid for, for months. RSC is so dysfunctional, they couldn't fix that simple step in the process. Also, the billing dept. is a joke. RSC was unable to give a coherent explanation of estimated costs. At the start, I asked simple questions they were unable to answer. Eventually we gave up trying to know how much IVF might cost us. In terms of insurance, we received notifications that our insurance would cover IVF. Then we got notifications that it would not be covered. (Yeah, this is the dysfunction of insurance in general, but). I spoke to insurance people from RSC, our insurance company, and a go-between company, plus a nurse who was somehow involved. One of them looked at the reason I was denied, and they said "oh, you have a tubal disease," which makes you ineligible for coverage. I have a tubal disease no one told me about? I assumed the insurance company fabricated that in ordered to not cover me. Then I talked to another rep who said no, it was RSC who stated you have this tubal disease, in order to do the opposite: show that I WAS eligible for fertility treatment. I gave up trying to understand wtf was going on and stopped asking questions related to coverage b/c clearly there was weird s**t going on behind the scenes. (I don't have a disease) Our case manager was sweet but terrible. She was the one who denied responsibility for the $7,000 overcharge. She was also incapable of explaining the process I would be going through. Our requests for simple explanations of wtf was going on were met with gobbledegook messages that neither my partner nor I understood. When I asked for an overview of what to expect, she would tell me to look at the RSC calendar created for me. But the calendar only stretched a couple of weeks. The process of ONE IVF CYCLE took FIVE MONTHS. My partner and I never got more than a three-week look into the future, and had NO IDEA that one cycle would take that long. We (naively) thought one IVF cycle took a month (like a menstrual cycle). This inability of RSC to tell patients what to expect, made us feel manipulated every week that went by and we learned more of what lay ahead and how much in the dark they were keeping us -- through sheer incompetence? We were not aware until the end of the process, how long the whole thing takes. At one point my case manager told me I needed to take birth control for a month in between the egg retrieval and the start of hormones to prepare me for the embryo transfer. After weeks of stress and online research, we pushed back, talked to the actual doctor, the case manager said, oh no, you don't HAVE TO take the birth control for a month. An example about how they have no regard for giving the patient any say or real info. Relatedly, I wish I'd known there are less-medicated forms of IVF at other clinics. Some other countries seem to require docs to inform patients of these options. My partner and I feel like RSC lied to us to keep RSC's pregnancy/"success" rate high, no matter the effect on the patients and their partners. The case manager also told me we'd have to postpone IVF a month because they have no one working on Christmas and there was a chance my menstrual timing would land then. A week later, the doctor said that is not true, and they always have someone on duty. WHAT?? Their messaging system is stress-inducing, lacks basic functionality. A partner can't be included. As for phonecalls, we could never get a hold of anyone at RSC. Infuriating. Also, when my male partner needed tests, RSC would contact me instead of him to remind me of the apts. I had to inform them multiple times that I do not manage his schedule, while I may be carrying the child. So much more to the story, but Yelp only allows 5,000 characters. read more

You wouldn't think your company would spend the time to do this for $16 when the billing department is so not on top of things, or that the collections agency would bother for $16. If I could give ZERO stars I would! The billing department is ridiculous. They double billed my insurance years after they were already paid!!! This is insurance fraud and I will be reporting them to my insurance. That's the insurance portion The Dr I had for 2 retrievals really gave me a bad protocol. They left and I was suppose to start with another Dr. He couldn't even tell me what happened with my previous cycles. All those years of schooling and get an I don't know as a professional opinion. Ummm ok. I found another clinic and had AMAZING results! They communicated exactly what happened and how to fix it. Thank God ! RSC is concerned with how their numbers look. They push all embryos to 5 days and beyond but they don't even check the embryos on Day 3! Why is this important? Because this can help you identify if there is a sperm or an egg issue. My other clinic checks on Day3 annnnd changes the dish the embryos are growing in so it cleans up the waste and gives more nutrients in a fresh dish so the embryos can continue developing! RSC doesn't do fresh transfers so they can charge more for a frozen and if your numbers aren't good at retrieval they will remove you as a patient! RSC is a dinosaur in the fertility community. They need to pack up shop and call it a day! They had a good run but there are so many other clinics in the Bay Area and beyond who charge less, have advancements, have success and don't commit insurance fraud! read more

I write this with tears in my eyes (no, it's not the hormones... It's gratitude.) Dr. Rosenbluth and his staff have made a permanent imprint on our lives. They have helped us through our struggles with infertility and loss. Each person we have come to know over our time here has treated us with respect and love and never batted an eye about being a same-sex couple or over thirty-five. Dr. Rosenbluth is a gift. He has supported us and always been very truthful and patient with us. He is a funny, competent, and knowledgable doctor. The lab and ultrasound technicians here are top notch. Their surgery clinic in San Ramon was so professional, even when medications made me a little silly. The office staff has been genuinely excited for us when hearing our good news. We're actually a teeny bit sad to leave this office and move on to our OB's office. But that sadness is overshadowed by our kiddos on their way. Thank you so much to RSC!!! You all are miracle workers. My husband and I had been trying for a child for 2 years and had never seen a positive pregnancy test, even years before that of not trying but not not trying... never once was there a positive. In June 2020, we finally decided to get some help. I called RSC. We were paired with Dr. Hinckley. On my first ultrasound with her it was discovered that I had endometriomas, one on each ovary. I began researching this and became nervous of my chances. I wondered if I needed excision surgery. Dr. Hinckley said she did not suggest this surgery for me and that she believed I could become pregnant without it. We ended up trying two IUI's and neither took, we chose to jump into IVF. Dr. Hinckley was always positive and helpful along with her nurse, Shanda Milton. We did a freeze-all egg retrieval cycle and it went great! 22 retrieved, 17 mature, 16 fertilized and 12 blasts! Another doctor performed the egg retrieval but it seems all doctors at RSC work well together and I'd be happy to be under the care of any of them. Yesterday I just found that our first frozen embryo transfer took and I am pregnant! I am relieved and in shock. I had felt so defeated for so long I never thought it would happen for me. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Dr Rosenbluth was personable enough. I didn't see him more than a few times as I was given to whoever was available. The communication is severely lacking in all departments within RSC. I was given the impression that my husband and myself would be walked through this confusing and challenging process of IVF. I was told we'd have a financial consultant to explain and breakdown the costs as well as provide us with a written plan and invoices. We were never seen by such person. When I asked for an invoice, I was told by RSC staff that they did not have the capability to do so. However they sure have the means to swipe my credit card. I was not be notified to changes in protocol and medication doses. I'm not made of money to have extra medication on hand. So that was stressful because if I had run out before they discussed the changes, I would have to start the whole process again. When they did communicate, the answers to my questions were lacking in correct information or a definitive answer to questions about scheduling and medication doses. This is all stuff they should know and as any knows who has looked into fertility treatments time is of the essence and treatments are time sensitive. Billing: Ridiculous! Like I had mentioned before I was never provided with an invoice and breakdown of costs and procedures. I had asked in person and asked in emails several times for a billing statement. Of course RSC will definitely put that effort in getting their money from you. I'm still after several months of being "done" with them am receiving bills for arbitrary things. Hidden charges, imaginary expenses with interest of %35 on $125! The bills never stop. I thought we were through with RSC when we had a notoriety deliver payment and notice to terminate storage of embryos. Nope I received another bill. I just want to be done with this awful place that I believe has sub par standards because they think they can pray on the desperation of families who want children and it's convenient location is the number one selling point to busy commuting/working east bay'ers. Positive ratings to Alto and nettra. Who where able to send me all necessary invoices and billing statements to my phone. Prompt service, professionalism, great communication and knowledge from the two other companies. My advice would be to steer clear of RSC. I gave one star to RSC at first due to lack of communication and patient care on their behalf. However, after switching to Kaiser for my further treatments I quickly realized that both clinics are the same. These are businesses and I am just another number.They want profit. Now I have a few treatments lined up at Kaiser in Walnut Creek and I hope to become part of their success statistics one day. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter if you use Kaiser or RSC. None of them would hold your hand or even remember your name. RSC is a little more about action and Kaiser is more about planning and being precise. read more

As the many above reviews state-- RSC is fabulous! My RE was Dr. Susan Willman who is absolutely amazing. She is so extremely knowledgeable, always takes the time to answer your questions and take you step-by-step through the choices and procedure. I have PCOS and knew I would need some assistance with becoming pregnant. Upon our first visit she was so reassuring and confident, instilling instant trust in her and establishing the foundation for a wonderful patient-doctor relationship. She is exceptionally thorough and truly leaves no stone unturned. I felt 100% confident in her as a doctor (something I can't say I have ever felt before). Our journey began with the discovery of a Uterine Septum (which no other doctor had ever identified in 20+ years of GYN appts). She herself performed the Hysteroscopic Septum Resection surgery to remove the septum and we then began fertility treatments. We tried 2 rounds of Clomid but my uterine lining was too thin and I overstimualted on that med, so she decided that injections and an IUI were the better bet. Well . . . . I got pregnant on our first try of Follistim and IUI. I am now 8 weeks pregnant and so sad to have to be leaving RSC (they only follow you until about weeks 8-9) :( SO SAD!!! I felt very attended to at RSC and dealt with many of their nurses and doctors while there. They have all been fabulous. Seriously, this is the BEST medical facility I have ever been to. They run an exceptionally professional and seamless ship. You will not be disappointed in this center. Truly, they are top notch and I feel so fortunate to have had them available during this journey. read more

***AVOID AVOID AVOID***. This is a business (like any doctor) but that's it, clearly all about profit, not any iota of service, or true consultative medicine. Many cycles with them unsuccessful (I get it, that's not the issue, the nature of this type of thing) but they just color by numbers, no personalization which is key. Also, your "account manager" has no medical background, and good luck getting ahold of them. Worst part, is billing, incorrect charges, unfulfilled promises of correction, no call backs, and still unresolved. Avoid, please. There are better options in the Bay Area and beyond. I saw Dr. Hinckley in Orinda. I found her to be caring, competent and she has a great bedside manner. She and her nurse, Jennifer Phillips always returned all my phone calls and emails promptly. Both of them always explained things thoroughly, and I'm the kind of person who asks alot of questions. I had two prior failed IVF's and was diagnosed with adenomyosis. Dr. Hinckley properly diagnosed my adenomyosis which was misdiagnosed for fibroids with my two prior IVF cycles. Dr. Hinckley successfully treated my adenomyosis prior to my IVF cycle, and I am now 8 weeks pregnant with twins! My 5 year struggle with fertility has now been a dream come true thanks to RSC! I highly recommend RSC and seeing Dr. Hinckley. I found everyone from the Dr. Hinckley to the staff to be very caring and professional. read more

DO NOT GO TO RSC!!! save yourself!!! save your time and money and just go to a different fertility clinic. they dont give a f*ck about their patients, they only want your money!!! after many failed procedures, with NO EXPLANATION and doctors advise, we decided to leave them. and so we thought our dissapointment was over, but no!!! we went with rsc because they are covered by our insurance. but now, we're getting billed for something they said are covered 100%. they have some serious BILLING ISSUES!!! even on one of our IUI procedures, they gave us the wrong semen analysis form. well i didnt notice because i was confident theyre doing a good job, but i guess not!! our new doctor saw a different name on that form and told us. they dont understand how hard it is for couples who go throught this procedures. the frustration we feel everytime it fails. or the effort and time we put into this because we have fulltime jobs and fixed work shifts. this is something that should be handled with the outmost care and attention. and RSC DOESN'T DO THAT!! THEY DON'T CARE!!!!!! they just accept and accept new patients which is way too much for them to handle. that is why they don't give the right attention and care to each patients. i trusted RSC, but they failed me BIGTIME!!!! read more

I could not possibly recommend Dr Rosenbluth any higher. He is a consummate professional. He helped us work through more problems than an algebra book, and he was kind and supportive throughout. I signed up for Yelp just now specifically to warn people about the RSC. Others have already said it, and it's still true: their billing practices are completely dysfunctional. They are incapable of giving clear estimates that describe what is and is not included in a particular charge, incapable of billing promptly, incapable of explaining their billing. Getting ahold of anyone to ask questions is nearly impossible, and whatever it is they think they're doing that they're calling "financial counseling" does not actually exist. The medical side of things is acceptable; the medical staff I've seen have all been friendly and capable, though you'll probably never see the same person twice (including doctors), so it's a pretty anonymous process. A bright spot is that the medical case managers I've worked with have been lovely and responsive and able to give clear information. I don't have experience anywhere else so I can't compare, but people should know what they're walking into if they choose the RSC. read more

I came to RSC from Lane Fertility for my FET. RSC was half the cost and twice as friendly and at least 10x as helpful. Dr Rosenbluth was honest about the science around bed rest vs no bed rest post transfer. What I should or shouldn't do to give me the best chances of a healthy pregnancy. And Mary Fried, my nurse, was an unwavering advocate, calling Lane Fertility to try to get my records multiple times a day for weeks on end. Fostering good relationships with the records staff there (while I just got angrier and angrier that my records were incomplete, that the lab at Lane Fertility was dragging its heels and generally being utterly unhelpful). If you're looking for an IVF doctor or facility. Start here. End here. You'll not find a better, more professional, kind, and uplifting place to go make a family. read more

RSC is utterly incompetent and clearly homophobic. My wife received yet another faulty bill in the mail today after RSC claimed to have removed this amount from our account and "cleared things up." The newest bill we received says that we are "past due" and that "collection efforts" will be next. Our insurance already paid RSC for the procedure in full (I sent them evidence already). We do NOT owe RSC any money. I had the exact same procedure using the exact same insurance and our insurance covered the entire cost. Is it really that hard to figure out because we are a two women family?! Apparently, RSC is fine committing unethical and fraudulent actions against people of the LGBTQ community. I cannot express enough my disappointment and frustration with this clinic. The first face to face interaction was nice, but everything else has been a huge disorganized mess and no one knows what the other departments are doing and what they need to do to move forward in the process. All communication has been reactionary on their part...always responding to my questions and requests...never reaching out to me first like I was told that they would do. All promises and set expectations were broken. I was offered apologies and told they will get down to the bottom of my concerns and then nothing. When you are in the beginning of such an important part of your life and it's uncharted territory because you have never done this before, you depend on the experts and professionals to guide you...you have so many questions, concerns and fears and all you want is someone to reach out, take your hand and help you...someone who knows what they are doing and it shows...someone you can trust with one of the most important decisions of your life...I didn't get any of this with this clinic. The bills just never stop coming and now one of those incorrect bills got forwarded to ARM collections agency even AFTER I had confirmed with Leticia and RSC billing that the bills sent to us were incorrect. I went to see Dr Willman at RSC as I was going through my second miscarriage in a row, in an attempt to have a 3rd child. As you can imagine, it was a very hard period, and Dr Willman was incredibly compassionate. She helped educate us on our options, and recommended we try IVF in attempt to have a healthy child. Despite her best intentions, I think Dr Willman's practice has gotten away from her. They have become more of a factory than a medical practice. For some patients I think that's just fine, but it didn't work for me. Pro's: - Shiny, new office with all the bells and whistles - Take insurance, which makes the billing process simple Con's: - Case managers - The case manager for my first IVF cycle was nice, but inept. She had very poor communication skills, and actually forgot to give me my medication instructions one day. Considering the expense of an IVF cycle, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect the highest level of communication, at the very least accuracy. When I raised my concerns about this with Dr Willman, first she said that they were understaffed, then she implied it would be awkward to change for the next cycle. Frankly, I didn't care, and I made that quite clear. - No personalization - They really don't look at a patient as an individual, you're just a number. Or, really, your blood test results. This does work for some, but in my case I had great numbers, but poor response. And, after two failed cycles, I was quickly pushed to donor eggs* - Never see the doctor - Seriously, you will not see your doctor throughout the entire process. You may meet with them before and after, but during the cycle you will see one of an army of techs and whichever doctor happens to be on that day. Dr Willman couldn't have picked me out of a line up if her life depended on it. - Billing errors - Several months after my second failed cycle, I reached out to the billing department to be sure our account was settled. I actually thought we might owe them some money. When they looked into our account, it turned out they owed us $5K. This never would have come to light if I hadn't stumbled across it. *BTW, I then went on to work with Dr Chetkowski (Alta Bates IVF) who counseled me to try a few rounds of medicated IUIs. Lo and behold, on my second round I got pregnant with our 3rd - she's 8 months old. I highly recommend this practice if you're looking for creative thinking. read more

Dr. Willman is as great as everyone says. I had fallen through some administrative cracks in the first few months I was under her care, and it seems that it was mostly because of the nurse I was assigned. I wrote a fairly negative review here and the customer service side of the business got in touch, which got me some attention from RSC, but still didn't fully solve the problem. Fast forward a couple of months, and I found out that I was pregnant in the month before we pursued treatment (we were going to seek treatment through a different group of doctors, because of the customer service snafus with RSC). I was out of state when I found out, and because I'm high-risk, I needed to be monitored. I couldn't get a local OB to see me until 8 weeks, and the only docs that would order labs for me were at RSC. I did have to go through the customer service side to get attention, and it took me three phone calls (that same nurse was really a dead-end for me), but since then, they have been *very* attentive and helpful. Moral of the story: If you decide to use RSC, get direct phone numbers for nurses you need to talk to. Stick by your guns on everything, and demand attention when you need it. Once you figure out who is reliable there, it seems like you can get good treatment. Good luck in your journey -- trying to conceive can be a stressful time, and getting good customer service makes it better! Once I figured out how to navigate RSC, I was glad to be their patient. read more

I went here with my friend who agreed to be my egg donor. We received poor service from almost all departments at the Orinda, San Ramon and San Jose offices. A number of serious miscommunications, medical errors and a lack of monitoring on behalf of my nurse case manager and the doctor occurred. This contributed to a failed embryo transfer a few weeks ago, when the live birth rate according to the genetic testing company should have been 70%. RSC is disorganized with frequent staff turnover. The staff that is there appear overworked and unhappy to be there. I cannot recommend them to anyone seeking reproductive advice. Even after changing doctors and case managers, the confusion continues with conflicting instructions from multiple staff. This indicates a lack of training and failure to follow protocol, if there is one. One beacon of light at the organization is a phone receptionist named Nathan, with his soothing voice and helpful professional manner, made me remember how wonderful it feels to receive good service. If only the others could learn from him! read more

I was referred here by my OBGYN and I found them to be caring, sensitive, and thorough. I saw Susan P. Willman the Orinda Medical Director as my main Dr. and she was fantastic. This review has been a year and a half overdue, and mostly because I have been so appalled by this practice that even having to write this is upsetting me but it has been nagging at me because I want to forewarn anyone else having this experience. I would give this place negative 5 stars if I could. I started my fertility journey here with Dr. Rosenbluth. He seemed nice enough initially. However, from the get go, I felt an aggressive push towards IVF, even a the intial consultations when he hadn't had any prior knowledge of my conditions. Obviously this is where the $$$ is at for these clinics. I wanted to know what the cause of my infertility might be including if my being 90 lbs and underweight, not having a cycle could be the issue. So he started running some diagnostic tests, bloodwork, husband's semen analysis, the cover all the bases, one of the tests was an HSG. This is where they shoot dye into your fallopian tubes to see if your tubes are blocked are not. I went in for my procedure and as I was laying on the table. He gasped saying "wow, I have never seen something like this! I've only had 1 other patient in all my years with a closed cervix so this is something to be seen... unfortunately though an HSG is not going to be possible." I remember staring up at the creepy dangling dancing doll mobile from the ceiling feeling like I was in a horror film feeling like a freak show. No empathy, no sensitivity, just plain douchey. What kind of reaction is THAT Dr.? He told me to get dressed and meet him outside to discuss next steps. Dr. Rosenbluth said 2 things 1) my husband's semen analysis was something to be worried about 2) I need to schedule a procedure the following week or ASAP to be able to potentially open up my cervix because I had cervical stenosis, with risks involved. Also he added that even if I did have the procedure it may not be successful as the scar tissue could grow back, and then at this point IVF would be my only option. He concluded that I have had no period because whatever I am shedding from my uterus is probably stuck in there. So I am actually ovulating, it's just not being able to flow out. A closed cervix also means no chance of getting pregnant on our own because just as nothing can come out, nothing can go in - i.e. sperm. I asked what causes this and he said not having a cycle for so long, not having enough estrogen can cause my cervix to "dry up" and seal shut. His rushing me to a surgery, jumping to conclusions so quickly and his lack of concern did not feel right in my gut, and thank God for intuition. I immediately scheduled a visit to another fertility clinic, who reviewed my husband's sperm analysis and said it was great. I explained to them my experience at RSC and they assured me that the situation I described was unlikely and a rare occurrence. Needless to say, they were able to do a successful HSG and help us successfully get pregnant without IVF! If you don't seem interested in jumping right away to throwing down 30g's for an IVF cycle, they will find any other way to try to scam money out of you. With that being said, I did have a friend who went to RSC and was told the same thing- that she wasn't going to be able to have a successful pregnancy without an IVF for other reasons than mine. They went with it and got pregnant via IVF and just had their beautiful boy. So maybe if you're in it for an IVF these guys can help but quite frankly based on how they run their business I wouldn't want to be donating any of my money here. I hope I can save someone else from some unnecessary procedures and the sort of emotional trauma I went through for no reason with Dr. Rosenbluth as RSC. RUN!! They are a FRAUD. read more

I have PCOS and I had been harping on my doctor about pain during my periods for 6 months before I decided I needed help. All I could think to do was suggest I wanted to have a baby to get the referral to someone who might pay attention. After seeing Dr. Susan P. Willman I not only felt better (heard and understood) I also had a referral to the best )OBGYN surgeon in the bay area (according to the Berkeley Parents Network). In no time, Dr. Willman had diagnosed the problem and evaluated it correctly (in a difficult case according to the surgeon). Most importantly she answered all my questions and supported me in my fears. I can't wait to go back when it is time for a mini-me. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Willman's since 2010. She has seen me through surgeries, IUI, IVF, and a frozen embryo transfer. When our attempt at IUI was unsuccessful, Willman was the steady rock of knowledge and compassion that my husband and I needed. In 2012, after a successful attempt at IVF, our daughter was born :) Recently, we did a frozen embryo transfer and just confirmed with an ultrasound that we are pregnant with our second child! We are forever grateful to Dr. Willman for making our dream of having a family come true! read more

Update: I am writing a follow up review because with the assistance of Dr. Rosenbluth, we are pregnant! I can't say enough about the excellent care I received working with Dr. Rosenbluth. He is one of the best doctors I have interacted with. He actually cares about his patients and wants to see the successful. We worked with a case manager, Devronne and she was amazing. I never had to question whether or not Devronne would call back or follow up. Without fail, Devronne would call me and follow up with email confirmation of our conversations. In life, you come across people that impact your life so greatly and they may never know how truly blessed you feel to have known them. I hope that Dr. Rosenbluth and Devronne know the immeasurable impact they have on their patients lives. read more

This place should get zero stars for its billing practices. Like others have said, they continue to send bills for expenses we have already paid. I call and confirm that we owe no balance (in fact we have a CREDIT that they won't refund) but Low and behold I get the same bill 30 days later. Now we get a letter saying they are sending our account to collections...even though THEY owe US money. It's ridiculous and a scam. Other doctors manage to bill their patients correctly but this place can't. The billing department must be full of idiots, and so must RSC for its failure to correct this ongoing problem. read more

I'm still in the middle of treatment with them but my experience is far from the reviews above. they first signed me up with the Attain Program which allows you to do 3 cycles with $28000. In the middle of my treatment due to my doctor's low dosage of medication, my cycle was stopped (IVF didn't even start just medications) by my doctor. The Attain program didn't want to find out why my cycle was stopped and kicked me out of the program, refunding only 90% of my money. They thought that I was no longer a good candidate for the program because my body didn't respond well to medications. However the fact that my doctor supressed my body's reponse by giving me cerain medication didn't matter. I lost about $6000( medications included) for absolutely nothing. Anyone who is thinking about going through IVF with Reproductive Science Center of the Bay Area please be careful, do not sign up for the Attain program, they will find a way to kick you out of the program and keep 10% of your money. Attain is in the businessof making money not helping. Per their contract they have the right to terminate you at any time for no reason. If they see that they will not be making money with you, they will cancel you then you will have to pay them 10% and restart from scratch and repay for all medication which is anywhere from $4000 to $2500 I have to mention that nurse Jennifer Phillips has been an angel helping me through this difficult time but it seems like she is the only one. The financial coordinator Yani Hurtado has no compassion, she keeps on repeating that I need to pay the 11000 in order for them to treat me, even if I don't have my refund from the Attain program. IVF is already difficult on its own this situation is making it 100 times worse. read more
