As a Black woman, seeking excellent healthcare has always been stressful. We are treated differently, and I've always had to fight to get proper health care. At first, I was so nervous about this procedure because I hate needles, and I didn't know if I would be treated like a human being. I've wanted to freeze my eggs for a while because I haven't found my life partner yet. So, I wanted to make sure that I had options for my future. Thank you to everyone at Oakland Spring Fertility for giving me such a fantastic experience. But, I especially want to thank Dr. Okeigwe for guiding me through the process of freezing my eggs. She's a GEM, and it's so rare to find a Black fertility doctor. I was and still am ECSTATIC that she was my doctor! She took such great care of me, and I was informed every step of the way of who, what, where, and why of everything I needed to know. Dr. Okeigwe even helped me heal a trigger. I had an abortion when I was 20 years old, and unfortunately, the doctor and nurses treated me like an animal and pinned me down while they did the procedure. So from there on, every time I went to an OBGYN and put my legs up, I would go into shock from that experience. I never thought that trigger was going to be healed. But, because Dr. Okeigwe listened to my story, answered all my questions, and equipped me with all of my options, the trigger began to go away. It got to the point where I would come in for a check-up, and we would laugh, and before I knew it, I was already lying down, looking up at all of my eggs progressing. This is why representation matters, and I know for a fact that I would not have received a better experience anywhere else. Give this woman a raise and hire more diverse fertility doctors!

I came to Sping when I was 4 years into my infertility journey at another big hospital clinic where I went through multiple IUIs and IVF cycles. I was at the point of desperation and despair but wanted to give it one more shot. Every single thing was better at Spring, from the very first email outreach to schedule my appointment, to the lovely and peaceful Oakland office, and the super clear pricing. Everyone I interacted with here was just so human and easy to communicate with and get fast responses from. This was really mind blowing after experiencing so much stress and frustration dealing with simple admin stuff at my last clinic. I think Dr. Minjarez is the best!! I got to see her for every monitoring appointment except when I had to come to the sf office on weekends. She knows all about the latest techniques and data from the newest studies so she adjusted my protocol and did some things differently than my last RE. I really felt that everything was personalized to my situation and it wasn't just copy/paste for each patient. She is also kind and understanding and on top of everything. My egg retrieval and transfers were done in SF as Oakland is just for monitoring and consults, and the only downside was that there isn't any privacy in pre-op there making it kind of uncomfortable. Small price to pay though. I'm now 6 months into my pregnancy but I would give spring 5 stars whatever the results were. I would come back here in a second for future cycles and will forever be grateful to the whole team here for their care.

Thank you so much Spring, you helped us bring this amazing child into the world. We love her so much.

I had a pleasure working with Heather and Mayra as a case manager and both ladies are so sweet and phenomenal. Marya is very responsive in responding to my calls and email. I'll be forever grateful for this clinic, if it weren't for them, I don't think we will have this strong and lovely family. I'm currently going through them for baby number two. Ms Edessa has been such great help, she is sweet, empathy, and really love what she does. I will highly recommend this RSC, so far all the staff I've encountered are very professional and kind. If you have any question feel free to private manage me. Please don't give up, have hope, stay strong and go there with a positive attitude and energy. Good luck and baby dust to you all.

I want to be fair about the people who were good to us. Leslie on Dr. Eisman's team was great, and Dr. Eisman herself was kind. Yani in finance was also kind and ultimately helped us resolve a very stressful insurance situation. Unfortunately, those positive experiences were outweighed by the broader experience we had with the clinic. I was scheduled for an IUI at the beginning of the new year after months of planning. Our insurance changed, and just three days before my cycle, Stephanie in finance told us it would need to be delayed. I found the way she handled the situation incredibly callous. There seemed to be no understanding of what it means to someone going through fertility treatment to have a carefully planned cycle suddenly put in jeopardy days beforehand. I pushed back, worked through the issue, and was ultimately able to get insurance approval and make the cycle happen. Yani was kind and helped get things resolved, and I am grateful for that. But the amount of stress the situation caused immediately before my IUI was awful and completely unnecessary. Fertility treatment is stressful enough without having to fight to keep your cycle moving at the last minute. I became pregnant from that IUI and later miscarried. The care I received following my miscarriage was very poor. I felt disregarded, and there was a painful lack of emotional care and compassion at one of the most difficult moments of my life. That experience was ultimately what made us decide to leave. After the miscarriage, finding new care felt critical. We transferred to Collab Fertility and could not be more grateful that we did. The contrast in personalized attention, communication, and compassion has been extraordinary. I only wish we had made the change sooner.

For example- i did not need a bunch of the genetic tests but not inly did I have to have them done but dine with a specific company. I also had to speak with a specific therapist they contracted with which screams kick back to me and was really expensive. There are alot of ways to have therapy and I would not be surprised if many people with fertility concerns already have a therapist. Similarly I work at a hospital and do not need training on how to use a needle but there is a required course on it. The biggest issue I had was no one but the doctors new the plan. So when you call in for refills they may be reading off an algorithm and have no idea what you need and do not need. I transferred care to a different fertility clinic and had a much better experience and they also had all sorts of discounts for self pay patients, would have as much done by your insurance as possible ( like having an in network person order your labs or do your ultrasounds) and since it was a larger location they were doing alot of research. Once again the doctors are great but the rest of the team and/or the algorithm they use to treat you was not.

We've spoken with multiple people who have used their services, and the feedback is truly mixed--some had good experiences, others barely satisfactory and some were REALLY BAD. Unfortunately, ours fell on the negative end. If you are a heterosexual couple, you may have a smoother experience. However, as a same-sex couple, we did not feel welcomed or supported. We've since connected with five other LGBTQ couples who shared very similar concerns, which says a lot about a pattern rather than a one-off experience. Our doctor, Dr. Nam Tran, came across as arrogant and condescending which has the same tones in some of the other reviews on this platform. At multiple points, we felt like we were wasting his time rather than being valued patients during what is already a very emotional and vulnerable process. He was late and then proceeded to say he has another appointment and we didn't get the full time. We constantly had to call the clinic because they don't call back after leaving a message from the previous week. We always were on time for our appointments and were always delayed to be taken in. While the clinic may now have an LGBTQ staff member, that alone does not make the environment inclusive or affirming. Our experience did not reflect meaningful change or genuine understanding. We ultimately decided to leave and seek care elsewhere, which was the best decision for us. For anyone considering this clinic, we strongly recommend doing thorough research. There are lawsuits filed in 2025 in California alleging negligence and embryo loss, with concerns raised about prioritizing profit over patient care. These are serious issues and worth looking into before making such an important decision. We would not recommend this clinic to LGBTQ couples seeking compassionate, respectful fertility care. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AND ADVISED of this company! Take your business and $$ elsewhere where you are respected of your time and your self worth. https://www.dailyjournal.com/article/384511-venture-capital-s-role-in-ivf-clinics-under-fire-in-lawsuits

I completed the recommended bloodwork and ultrasound, but I was not given clear instructions about whether any of the testing needed to be completed during a specific part of my cycle. My fertility acupuncturist later raised concerns about the timing of some of the bloodwork and suggested that I clarify whether it should be repeated before starting egg-retrieval medication protocol. Because egg freezing is both a major financial investment and an important medical decision, I wanted to feel confident that my results had been properly interpreted before beginning medication. When I contacted the clinic to discuss repeating the testing, I was told that I would need to pay for another full consultation. The lack of communication and unwillingness to address my concerns without an additional consultation fee ultimately made me decide to seek care elsewhere. The experience felt very clinical rather than individualized, and I did not feel adequately supported or informed.
