Please read this review before signing a business contract with this company!! I hate to leave a poor review for a business because I think it is always best to contact a company directly and give them the necessary feedback. That being said, I have been a business customer of this company for over 10 years and I have spoken with them directly and they are, without question, one of the worst service providers I've ever had to deal with. I'm so remorseful that they have gotten 10 years of payments from me. Here are the main points: - When you sign a contract they have a auto renewing policy after 3 years. Mark the date on the calendar!! 60 days prior to expiration you need to mail a certified letter to let them know you are cancelling service with them. This isn't that unusual. However, even after I did this (90 days prior) they wanted to charge us termination fees until we threatened them with court action. - The contract has fees which the company tries to override in hopes of garnering more money. It was spelled out that the fee to pick up our dumpsters at cancellation was $50 per dumpster. They are trying to charge us $140 per dumpster. - Customer service when cancelling is atrocious! The customer service representative we dealt with was rude and unaccommodating. She insisted she hadn't received the cancellation letter despite the certified letter stating the company had received it. There aren't a lot of waste disposal companies to choose from, but literally any company is better than this one. To anyone having to use trash outside of the City of Denver, I advise you to avoid this company. We couldn't get our bins serviced after three attempts, then cancelled our service and now we cannot get our bins picked up. We ended up with Wast Connections and we are very happy with them. read more

Our business had Republic as a dumpster service for many, many years before we moved locations and had to start shopping for the best price for a new service. They were not the best rate so I ended the service with Republic. After breathing a sigh of relief that we weren't penalized for cancelling our service (read the fine print and avoid contracts if you can!), we received huge bill of $263 just for them to come pick up the dumpster that belonged to them. It's hard to believe a company would charge such an outrageous amount. So do your research, ask a lot of questions and don't get caught surprised like I was! read more

If zero stars were a choice I'd have given that. Been a customer for over 8 years and honestly the trash and recycling service itself has been OK. The customer service is despicable. I had signed up for a "price for life deal" when originally signing up. This service included the 96 gallon bin, plus up to 6 additional bags of waste. Recently I received a bill charging an extra $6 for each additional bag. They said I was notified by postcard of this change, however neither myself or several neighbors who use the service received a post card outlining that change. When speaking with 2 customer service agents, they basically said i was not being truthful about the notification and that the local unit supervisor would call. They haven't called. To make matters worse, they are trying to charge me $42 extra for 6 extra bags... when I asked for the photo they said substantiates that claim, the photo only showed 3 extra bags (which is what I had told them...). In the end of the day, they move the goalposts on you and the customer service is not useful. There are plenty of other providers out there and I'd chose one of them if I were you. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! We have had our trash missed on our scheduled pick up day 2 weeks in a row. And with this last time have not gotten our trash picked up for over a week. Called everyday since last Friday (which was our scheduled pick up) and was told we were on the route to be picked up the next day (which didn't happen) Now told today (Wednesday) we are scheduled for our already scheduled trash pick up on Friday. Was told numerous times a supervisor will call me (never happened) and every day told we would have a pick up the next day (never happened) And the only credit I was given was $4.12. Drivers are a$#holes. They miss pickup dates. Customer service is terrible. Numerous occasions they missed our trash. I've called in every time and they tell me they'll be out the next business day and nothing! So once again they missed my trash last Thursday and it's Wednesday night now. I've called every day since then with the same response "We'll be out before 7pm to get it." Now I have had several HOA fines 100+ and they offer me a $16 credit to my account. If I could give this a negative review, I would. This company is not organized and cannot communicate between departments. They cannot accommodate additional pickups if needed and if they miss yours one week, you'll have to wait until the next week to hopefully get your trash picked up. After cancelling service with this company, they can't even figure out a way to send someone to get their trash bins from my address. I've been cancelled for 2 weeks and every day I call, they have the same response: "I've escalated this to the operations team and someone will be out today to pick them up." My husband and I do not know what to do anymore. It is now the 5th week in a row our trash has not been picked up on its scheduled day. We have to call every week three or four times to try to get somebody to come out and pick up the trash that we are paying for. Last week a manager reached out to us and picked up our trash after calling many times and he said that they should have this all figured out by this week and that he was going to have the driver come and pick up the trash and then take a picture proving that it was done so he could monitor it. I have been a Republic Services residential customer for many years. I just found out that I am paying more than double what my neighbors are paying. They were offered a 3 year agreement for $45 every three months. For years, I have been paying over $100 every three months. I asked to be emailed a 3 year agreement two days but still have not received it. Watch out. They will over charge you as long as they can. read more

At this point they have received more than a month payment from me for FREE, they did not do the work they are paid for. Then they say a supervisor will call back, and then they don't. Meanwhile, they tell me to keep my bins on the curb for the next day, and they just sit there all week. BEWARE!!! I broke boxes down and put them in my own plastic container for the recycle truck. The driver took my container too. The container was in new condition with all of the boxes stacked in it. They say that we are not allowed to use our own container so instead of letting me know, they took it and will not replace it. BEWARE!!! read more

IF our trash is picked up they either set the cans in front of our driveway so we can't get in or there is trash all over the street or the trash cans are set in the MIDDLE of the street!!! Beyond horrible service. 75% of the time, they "forgot" to pick my recycling. When I would call to report this, they would say oh sorry, it says they picked it up. I asked them if they wanted me to send them a picture. How is it they can get my next-door neighbor but constantly miss me? As another reviewer said...""I'm sorry for your inconvenience," "We're escalating your situation," "We will accommodate you," and "I'll be speaking with my supervisor."" I got the same. They would then tell me they would pick it up on Monday. Opps, they must have forgotten, then it was Wednesday, then Friday. I ended up taking my recycling to my work. Even picking up the bins. It was ok we will pick up the bins on Tuesday, June 8th. Nope, called, no it says her the 11th. Ok, wait, nope. Call again. Well, it says here the 18th. Nope. We will get them the 22nd. We had our weekly pickup day changed from Tuesdays to Fridays. Our trash has yet to be picked up even though we have contacted them 3 times and been assured it would be picked up the next day each time. So to start off with I'm an easy customer. Hardly have a full trash, always have my can at the end of the drive way and pay on time. Wish I could say the same about Republic. The one time I have a full trash they don't pick up. I put a ticket in for missed trashed and normally get it picked up within 24 hours. Nothing. Put in another ticket. 24 hours .. nothing. Get off work early to call them during "office hours" to be SCOLDED that because I put in two tickets them picking it up Friday was cancelled to have pick up on Monday. (How that makes sense if I'm on the pick up list why remove me to put me on a pick up list) but fine. Monday comes and goes and my trash is still not picked up. Call again. Told nothing they can do will come Tuesday. Tuesday comes nothing. I now have full can PLUS another week of trash building up in house in Amazon boxes and garage. There answer well we will pick up your normal day. Really will you?? Cause I don't believe you at this point. What about all my extra trash. Well we will have them come twice for you Wednesday. Why not come now? Well put extra next to can? Oh put bags of trash where animals can get into it?? I had to go BUY an extra trash can for them to pick up the trash and then when they come a WEEK LATE they don't pick it all up. Trash is all over my curb and IN MY YARD!!! IN MY YARD. The trash wasn't even mine that was in my yard. So incredibly lazy. I got every excuse in the book. Landfills full. Trucks are full. Short staff. Route delays. COVID. Funny my parents have Republic with a city contract and they have no delays or issues. Then again that's 500 people contract 5 miles from me. Told them that and asked why they pick and choice who they service.... Dead silence. Then to make matters worse after cancelling them OVER TWO AND HALF WEEKS AGO AND MY ACCOUNT SHOWS INACTIVE...THEY CHARGE MY ACCOUNT FOR SEPTEMBER!!! The service by the employees driving the trucks has been very good over the last five years. I give them 5 stars. Unfortunately the customer service and the policies have been a constant problem. After receiving my new invoice today, which included over $100 in charges for a total of 13 extra trash bags to be picked up (over 3 months), I've finally decided to cancel my service. That's about $8.60 per extra bag of trash. I'm completely fine with with being charged extra for extra trash, but c'mon, that's just crazy. My bill was more than double and we've done nothing different. Just some extra bags here and there from bigger projects around the house. So either Republic Services was seriously behind on adjusting their expenses, or someone got really greedy. When I called to have my bill explained I was simply told it was due to new policies. No empathy, no offer to discount the insanely high charges, nada. Ok, I guess I'll be calling a competitor now. Probably won't be much better. Thanks for nothing Republic Services. I miss my tax payer funded trash and recycling in Denver. It's a racket out here in Aurora. read more

Do NOT use this trash service! Their trash service is so expensive & they they constantly include additional charges for administrative fees & fuel recovery fees. Even though the price of fuel is down, they did not reduce the fee but kept increasing it. Then if an additional trash bin is put out they charge you $6 per bag in the trash bin & send you a monthly bill (on top of the quarterly bill) which also includes more administrative fees & fuel recovery fees. My quarterly bill of $57.40 quickly increased to $127 & then I got monthly bills of $68.90. Too expensive trash service & not worth it! I changed to their competitors & couldn't be happier. Now spending way less & getting better service!! I wouldn't even give them one star but I had to in order to post this review. read more

My trash pick-up was missed last week on Friday June 18th 2021, so the last time my trash was picked up was June 11, 2021. I called on Friday June 18th to see when it will be picked-up and they said I was scheduled for Monday June 21, 2021. After two more calls and being told two more dates of when it will be picked up it is now Thursday June 24th with still no pick up. The only thing I am positive about now is this was just lip service to appease me when your representatives new my trash would not be picked up. Tomorrow Friday June 25th is supposed to be my next regular day for pick up. Guess we will see if that happens. We use them for business. They locked us into a three year, self-renewing contract, didn't give us any notice of renewal. We are locked in as prices constantly rise with no recourse from us. They skip pick ups if it is not convenient for them, such as mud or whatever. HORRIBLE customer service. I've begged, pleaded, went to BBB (they won't respond to a BBB complaint). If I could give a zero star I would. Our trash container was accidentally picked up on 8/30/17 instead of our neighbor's. I have called 5 times in 9 days and am never allowed to speak to a supervisor. Supposedly my request for our trash container has been "escalated" but we have yet to see our container returned. We have been a customer for almost 15 years but will find a new company. Our new delivery date has now been set for 9/15/17-unreal. This is the 3rd date we've been given so far. This is the WORST customer service ever. This company is literally a 15 minute drive from our house! Update: while I appreciate the response from the customer service below-there is no way to "private message" to give my information. As of today 9/15/17 at 1:30pm we still do NOT have a trash container. This makes 19 DAYS without one. To add insult to injury the trash collectors BROKE the handle off of our household can we've had to use in the meantime which means we now have to lift and carry a full can to the curb. This insanity just continues....and we've made 12 calls now to get this rectified. Credit? No.... Update #2: we cancelled our service. As of today 9/25/17 we still have not received a container, nor a call back from a manager. This company will take every opportunity to raise their rates that they can. And when they promise an adjustment on the bill, pay close attention, cause it may take you 3 or more calls to get them to follow through. The trash service is OK (though overpriced), but that's sort of irrelevant, because with the advent of unified waste stream recycling, the majority of our trash is now recyclable. And Republic simply will not pick up your recycling, no matter how many times you call them. They make excuses and even tell outright lies, but they don't, you know, call the dispatcher and roll a freaking truck. I literally just watched their truck roll right past my overflowing bins without slowing down, and this is after 10 calls to customer service. I am not sure what is going on with this company and they refuse to give out any information. They have skipped my trash pick up and keep saying it will be removed the following day. This has been going on for five days now!! They can not guarantee they will make up for the skipped trash pickup or that they will ever pick up my trash again even though they took my money.
