I cancelled my services at the beginning of October with what I thought was my final bill. I had two containers they had to pick up and have had to call at least 3-4 times to get them scheduled. They came by and picked up one of the containers but not the other one. I received a bill today being charged for container removal and a $24 admin fee. This was never communicated to me at the time of cancelling my services. When I called to talk to them about the bill one person hung up on me saying "this is the final bill and since you are no longer a customer we can't do anything for you". I then called back with no luck either but at least that person didn't hang up on me. I would not use them for your trash pick up. read more

After 2 years of attempting to set up AutoPay- I am finally done with this company. Their website is constantly down, meaning to make payments you have to call them. I had numerous reps tell me they set up autopay for me, but it never worked. At the beginning of my service I had 5+ weeks of missed pick-ups, then they switched my recycling week pickup without notifying me which incurred MORE missed pickups. Absolutely over it. Absolutely Terrible Trash and Customer Service: We just moved to Aurora, CO in June and chose Republic Services for our trash and recycling pick-up needs. Of the five trash pick-ups we've been scheduled for, Republic has MISSED four of them.... simply did NOT show up. (The recycling pick-ups have gone well). We called them after each miss to ask why we were skipped, and if there's something we are doing wrong - each time they said there were no notes, and to keep doing what we were doing. Of the four rescheduled pick-ups, they missed one of those (so one week we had NO SERVICE AT ALL). On the customer service side, we've been told twice that our requests were not logged anywhere in their system. We've asked to speak with a manager, but are always told that they are unavailable and will call us back. They have NEVER called back. We've been told three times now that Ricardo, a manager, will get back to us that afternoon... not a single call yet from Ricardo. We've cancelled or service and want a refund, but guess what... only a manager can do that. We are now quite confident that Republic Services hopes that by ignoring us, we will pay the bill and quietly go away. We will not. This level of incompetence is unacceptable for such a large and important service company. Until a manager calls us and rectifies the situation, we will be telling our story to friends, recommending that they choose a different company, and spreading the word via social media marketing sites. I decided I'd like to recycle when I moved to my new home. The recycling can got dropped off 38 days ago and my recycling can has yet to be emptied. I have made 8 phone calls. Have 6 case numbers. I paid for a full year upfront and yet..... No one has picked up my recycling trash can to empty it. Every time I call customer service they are very nice and apologetic but you can't even get a manager on the phone. It's incredibly frustrating. I can't get my money back and cancel either. They aren't even picking up every other Friday..... I recommend using some other company for your trash and recycling needs. read more

STAY AWAY.. We were missed on our scheduled Tuesday pick up. According to their website and contract they were supposed to pick up within 48hrs. We called on Thursday, within the 48hrs and were told we were on the schedule to be picked up. They didn't show. We called again Friday morning and received the same story. We were on the schedule to be picked up that day. Again, no show. We called back Friday afternoon and were told we were on the schedule for Monday. We were told they would get a supervisor to speak with us and put us on hold for over an hour. Never did speak with anyone. They just let us sit on hold till their phone systems turned off. All the while trash is piling up in front of my house and they don't care. It is my understanding they now service all of arvada and seem to let everyone else get put to the side. This company is unreliable and unresponsive to customers. I am a new customer and they missed picking up my trash four times. Each time I called or alerted them on their website that the pickups were missed. They scheduled alternate pickups that also never happened. When I informed them, they said I would be credited for the missed pickups. I got my bill and there were no credits. I called and talked to them and they refused to credit me for the services I paid for but did not receive. I have spent so much time on hold and multiple for each missed pickup with no reconciliation. They have extremely bad customer service practices! read more

Started service with Republic in November 2015. The trash service has been fine. The recycling service has been atrocious. To date they were to have picked up my recycling 5 times. To date I have had to call them 5 times because the recycling was not picked up. I have asked the local rep for a call back on 3 occasions. I have yet to hear from anyone. What's asinine about this is my next door neighbors recycling is picked up with no issues. If I knew this was going to be a problem I would have never signed up with them. Update: Well after numerous calls to rectify the situation I decided to call the corporate office. I did get someone to call me back about it from corporate. I received a call from the local management. He stated that they had my recycling on another route. Why this took over 6 missed pickups and numerous calls is beyond me. This is the worst trash/recycle service. We have had them for 2 years (our landlord is signed up for them). After a year Nd a half the recycle guy just decided not to come for a month and a half straight. I called everyday talking to managers and anyone that I could. They schedule me for several missed picks ups and none ever showed up. Finally one day they started coming again. Fast forward 4 months. The recycle guy decided not to take my recycle and left a note saying some items in the bucket are not recycle. The only items in it were empty bottles and cardboard. I called and was told a manager would call me within a day. Never heard back, of course. I then called back the next day and the lady schedule for a missed pickup to be picked up the next day. Did they come? Of course not. We now added waste management to come at the end of the week and luckily they showed up and took it for us. Don't use republic. It's horrible. read more

I signed up with Republic Trash to begin service on 8/22/19 and it just so happened that was recycling day too. When it was 1130am, I called to make sure they were coming. Was told by a CSR they would 'look into it.' I didn't want stinky trash for another week so when it was 1pm I called again and was told they were sending my message 'upward'. An hour later I called again and this time my call was relayed to the 'Resolutions' (Jennifer was so nice). My trash was picked up within the hour. They apologized that our address was not added to the list as new customer. Recycles were picked up the following Monday as a missed pick up. Now we are all on schedule and have no more problems. It is maddening but by being nice to the CSR and they will often go the extra mile for you. read more

Like everyone else, terrible service. Missed pick ups repeatedly. Finally cancelled my service. They refuse to acknowledge it's cancelled. Keep charging me. I cancelled my auto pay and they still keep charging so I had to put a stop on my credit card. I have had confirmation numbers that I'm cancelled, reportedly managers going to call me to get my money back since I'm cancelled. My original call to cancel was over two months ago and my account is still not cancelled (despite cancellation confirmation numbers from them). Keep getting invoices. Have not been reimbursed. I have multiple confirmation numbers that I've cancelled. Meaningless. Escalation numbers for my multiple calls in to cancel. No one calls me back to resolve the issue. Completely unacceptable. Wow I wish we would have seen the hundreds of other reviews from people in the same situation before we selected Republic as our trash provider in Colorado. We have been using them for over two months, and much like the other reviewers we have experienced the worst customer service of our lives. Numerous missed pickups, charges for services we didn't receive, being told different things by different customer service reps each time we called to figure out why an issue STILL wasn't resolved. Going on Day 8 of a bulk pickup request. Have called every day of the 8 days, its presumably been 'escalated' to division, or local superintendent several times. I've been told there's a staff shortage. Well if you have a staff shortage, don't schedule me and tell me they'll be there tomorrow. That way, I don't have a couch on my curb for over a week, making my yard look like trash. I'm just waiting for the HOA fine that I'll be sending Republic's way. I've also contacted my local Public Works department who contracts with Republic to make them aware they're paying for services that Republic refuses to provide. read more

Very unpleasant experience working with Republic Trash Service. I am a property manager, and if you knew our work load, you would know we don't have time to waste. Called today and waited on the phone for 40 minutes (unbelievable wait time). First person who picked up was able to send a email showing why we were charged extra a couple months ago. Come to find out, the original person who setup the service was a former tenant from several years back. When we took over the building, we took over the account. We had been paying on this service for over five years through the management company. The tenant who set up account originally-they left his name on the account, and we could not remove his name unless we closed the account, then start a new one, but RS wanted us to pay them right away an initiation fee when we already paid the bill-such a rip off. I would but its a building account, and why should I pay using my personal account-accounting pays the bills. Send us an invoice and we'll pay but the girl on the phone said I had to pay right away. Dorry, ended up terminating the account. They should be more like Waste management and billed us.No trust of being a customer already with no late payments. Done with them, move on. read more

I have requested our roll off to be serviced for the last week. First it was scheduled for Monday (no show) so I called Tuesday and the customer service rep said they would come out to service (no show). I called Wednesday and customer service rep said they would escalate and come out (no show). Thursday called and customer service rep said she would look into it and call me back which was several hours ago so figure they will once again be a no show. Should be ZERO stars. Was a satisfied customer for over 20 years until April. Now they don't pick up trash - missed pickup 10 out of the last 14 weeks. Missed my neighbor too. I have called every day of the week, always a promise to come the next day and they don't. I've called probably 30+ times in last 3 months. They always say to leave trash at curb until picked up, most weeks it is there 4 to seven days. Calls go to national customer service center. Repeatedly assured me I would get a call from local office and it has never occurred. In the last month they have picked up my neighbor's and still skipped mine - drove right past it! Then 5 weeks ago due to garbage sitting day after day next to my cars in the driveway, suddenly two cars sitting right by those cans got rodent nests and damage from rodents chewing the wires!! Never in over 30 years in this home have I had rodent problems, and I know it is because the trash has attracted them. Cost me $2,200.00 to fix the wiring! I filed a claim for damage with Republic Services, was promised a phone call to discuss within 48 hours - NOTHING! Every week my cans are left in the middle of the sidewalk blocking the driveway or in the street with the lids open. Very unprofessional service. It's not hard to return cans to the curb, especially when they have wheels. So, i received two calls and two postcards informing me that they were changing my pickup date for my convenience (untrue, it's the opposite and I never requested it) then to have my house missed completely (trash and recycling) and they don't answer their phones. I sat waiting for 50min before hanging up, as they were experiencing high call volume (obviously other people calling to complain about their lack of competence, communication and customer service. read more

Can I give zero stars? We were FORCED into a monopoly... thanks Arvada Voters... Republic was supposed to pick up our recycling last Monday. They didnt... although they picked up our neighbors... so we called on Tuesday. They promised a truck out by Wed eve 6pm. The truck never came. We called Thursday am. They promised a truck by the eve, 6pm. It never came. We called Friday am. They promised a truck by 6pm. It never came. Now it's the weekend. We are a family of 4. With a full recycle bin. No where to put our weekend recycle. We called Monday am. They PROMISED.... profusely.... a truck by 6pm. It is now 7:15 pm.... and no truck. I'm about to take my recycle bin to their office amd dump it on their door step. I am SO SO PISSED that I am forced to pay for this service whether I use it or not. I am not only writing this review, BUT, I'm also writing a letter to Arvada government offices to express my rage about this situation. I am very disappointed in the service they ARE NOT supplying. We have been with Republic Services since BFI sold out to them and up until this month I haven't had a problem. Now it seems they only pick up 2x a month when we pay them for every single week in this month. No pickup the week of the 4th of July (our pick ups are Thursdays). They picked up on the 15th of July. What an AWFUL company!!! The hold times on the phone are ridiculous, it takes HOURS to get a callback. When I did get the callbacks (still waiting for trash to be picked up, its been 4 days now) 3 of the 4 "customer service" agents were nice, but none of them were super knowledgeable. They all seemed to just look at some account via my name or address and just pacify me by saying "oh yeah, you're on the schedule, no problem" just to get me off the phone. The 4th lady I spoke with was extremely condescending. Totally seemed bothered that she had to call me back. Of course no one gave their names, so I have no idea who I was talking to. She seemed to say there was no way to look me up and I must have cancelled my service, and that's why we havn't had trash pick up. OH.MY.GOD. What a nightmare. Try avoiding them at all costs. Republic services is by far the worst garbage companies we have ever seen.Missing pickups gouging prices every month, we end up canceling their services . Talked to them three separate times and was told they would come by 7pm. Nope, never showed. So now we've got 2 weeks worth of trash that has been sitting around in 90+ degree heat. I was told the week of April 9th that my service was moving to Wednesday from Thursday. Trash would go on April 18th and recycle on April 25th. NOT TRUE. After several days of attempting a pick up, I was finally sent an email stating my recycle would be picked up on May 2nd. Did that happen? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Now their web site shows pick up on May 9th. Everything I have read in the reviews confirms my experience. My dumpster has not been emptied in over 6 weeks. They have suddenly raised my rates. Update: Things have gone horribly wrong at Republic Services and I'm knocking my original review down to 1 star (and I'm looking for a new service provider). They've started repeatedly missing pickups. There's a form you fill out when they miss a pickup. Don't waste your time; they won't come on the date they promise and you just end up dragging the container back up the driveway at the end of the day. You can also call them and ask them to come get the can they missed. Don't waste your time; they won't come. When I called and asked to speak to a supervisor I was promised someone would call me back within 2 days. Yeah, that didn't happen. These people give zero f--ks about their customers. Stay away. Stay far, far away You have one job, Republic. And you consistently fail miserably. Previous Review: With a couple of exceptions, they get the job done. I've used them since May of 2016. When I called to start service they brought the bins out immediately and have yet to miss a pick-up. It seems like the driver is the same guy every week and he's friendly. There are some quirks, though. I never get a bill but I do get a notice saying my bill is past due. I just pay them when I get the past due notice but it would be nice to get a bill. Or even better, an email saying my bill is due. Also, they don't make their pickup schedules available online. If you email them, they'll send you a copy but then you have to go look for it when you need it. Overall, I'm happy with the service. I just wish their tech/billing folks would up their game. Update: Per the company's response, I installed the My Resource app. When I click on the "Pickup Schedule" option it tells me my trash is picked up each Monday and my recycling is picked up every other Monday. Um, yeah, I was aware of that. I want to see a calendar that tells me the DATE my recycling will be picked up. I forget and (still) have to go to my computer and open the PDF they sent me as they don't make this PDF available on their website. Better yet, update the iOS app to show a current calendar with the customer's pick-up dates. I simply do not understand why this company cannot allow a customer to see THEIR service DATES either on their website or in their app. Removing a star. read more

Republic is the WORST trash pick up company in the US! They are so UNRELIABLE. Sometimes they would not run the route blaming the snow but we could see their competitors picking up trash. And it's impossible to get through when you try to call because they staff on the cheap, so they are terribly understaffed taking calls. read more

I can't believe they stay in business. My pick-up service was hit or miss, especially recycling. I tried to call last month to report a missed pick-up and could not contact anyone so I sent an email asking to have the missed pickup removed from my bill. I received a reply that it would be deducted. I received my bill last week and it was higher than the previous period. It was never deducted. The past 2 weeks I have watched my neighbors trash get picked up and their cans brought back to their garage by other companies and I watched my trash get picked up, cans left on the curb and my lids thrown in the yard. I'm tired of picking up the trash on the sidewalk and in the street after they leave. I had a note on my can last week telling me to fill up the big can completely before I use an additional can. That's what I need, my trash company over-billing me then chewing my ass out. Arrogance! My last bill was $141.40 that included an administrative fee of $5.25 that I don't understand since nobody actually answers the phone. I also had a $19.04 fuel recovery fee on the bill plus a $7.02 "processing charge". Why am I buying their gas? The icing on the cake was when I called to cancel. I was told that cancellations were only billed at the end of each month and I would be charged another full month (not week) if my cans had anything in them. I was also told that I would be charged $14 for Republic to come pick-up their own trash cans. Seriously? I knew I had made the right decision. I called my new company and they said they would be happy to empty my Republic cans in the morning even though they were not their cans. I paid my new provider's first 3 months for a total of $57. I can't comment on my new provider quite yet but I can tell you from years of being over-billed and piss poor customer service you can do a lot better than Republic Services. Go shopping. read more

I've had Republic Services for my trash service in Aurora for many years without any issues. Two weeks ago I get a post card stating that my pick-up day is changing from Tuesday to Thursday. But Thursday comes and goes without any trash pickup. I called their customer service Friday morning (because they are closed after I get home from work Thursday night) and wait on hold for over 30 minutes, only to be told that I have to wait till Monday for a pickup. Monday comes and goes and still no pickup. At least this time I got home early enough to sit on hold for another 45 minutes before getting to talk to someone. This time I'm promised that a truck will be by Tuesday morning and to just leave the trash on the curb. Well its Tuesday evening and my trash is still there. Its been 14 days since my trash was picked up and my cans are over flowing and stink! Why can't a nation wide company simply do what they promise (oh and are being paid for) to do? I don't want any more promises, I just want a truck on my curb and my trash gone! read more
