To cancel service when I had no out standing bill. $30 for container removel, 6.29 fule surcharge, 5.40 environmental recovery. 1.13 not really sure - call every month for billing corrections or pay a lot higher than quoted. your 75 dollar monthly charge goes up by an admin fee of 5.95 and a fule and environmental recovery fee of 26.12 - really? I am livid over the charges and the service. They do not tell you up front that the delivery of the can is followed by a removal and cleaning fee. I would NEVEE recommend them unless you have time to sit on the phone every 3 months to get a reasonably accurate bill. I live across the street from a local business who receives trash collection from Republic. It is evident the man driving the truck was aware picking up at 3:45am was incorrect. The city ordinance and signage says no commercial truck use before 6am. (Westminster Colorado) First it was waking to the truck roaring in here, then all the air brakes, beepers, roaring of the engine going forward and backwards to line up. Then the rolling of dumpsters around, the banging to get it on the lift, shaking the dumpster numerous times to empty the contents. The crash of putting it back down, rolling the dumpster back to its place, and then air brakes and beepers to leave the area at 4am. I am certain a large company can be more considerate for ONE dumpster in a residential neighborhood . Definitely not a neighborly friendly or considerate service. 3:45am on Monday is the pickup. In accordance with other reviews, the phone just goes dead when calling, so just follow the laws at a minimum instead of waking 50-100 people to empty a dumpster 2.25-2.50 hours before state law. Back in August 2021 i signed up for their service, was told a container would be delivered within 2 weeks. SIX weeks later and NUMEROUS promises of a container still no container. I called back up and canceled my service(Lack of). 2 weeks later AFTER canceling, a container shows up!!!! Do not use this trash service! After giving them a full 6 months I just couldn't take it anymore. Straw that broke the camels back was when the recycling truck came and the driver refused to take pieces of cardboard that wouldn't fit in the can. He knocked them over with the machine on the side of the truck, and then ran them over, leaving them in the street. (See pics). When I called customer service to launch a complaint and explain the situation, and ask if that type of behavior was appropriate, the representative said "if that really happened..." She was quite obviously insinuating that I was lying. Why in the world would I call customer service and hang on the line for 30 minutes to tell them a false story? I literally sit my container on the curb 2 days before my pick up date and they still miss my house. I called customer service and they always tell me that someone will pick it up the following Monday. Nope! I have to wait until the next pick up date which in my neighborhood is on Thursdays for them to pick up my trash. This has happened on more than one occasion and is happening way too often now. Trash container taken at Republic's mistake and she decides it isn't important enough to return it until convenient for her on next service day when too late to get trash out . Called 5 days straight and all relationship manager can say is they 'escalated to Audra' and it would arrive 'today'. Every day, and nothing. Cancelled service due to "safety issues". Despite knowing well in advance that they were pulling the plug our neighborhood is drowning in unwanted Republic trash bins. Complaints are answered by lame excuses that employees are sick or on leave. We have been hearing the same excuses for 3 weeks now and counting. While they were reliable for showing up when scheduled they left a trail of trash in their wake. I can not recommend these people. read more

Update: I ended up canceling the service. They ended up picking up the trash on the next normal trash day. I don't know if all my phone calls did any good. Now, we can't manage to get them to pick up their cans for return. They told us that they would pick them up on September 7th. They didn't manage to get them that day or the next five days. We've called five times now, each time being assured they world be picked up that day. The cans have been sitting there for eight days now, with no endpoint in sight. Our trash has not been picked up in 3 weeks. I call twice a day and each time I'm told they will be out that day. I have to keep rolling my trash into and out of my garage along with all the loose trash as we live in a rural area and a bear has already gotten into the trash. I've been told I will be billed through August yet there have been no services for the month of August. They are always polite on the phone but there is no solution being provided for our missed pick ups. They will not get me in touch with the operator or let me know a location that I can take my trash to. As everyone knows Republic bought Gallegos a while back and doubled rates. We have a 2yd dumpster with once a month pick up. I needed an additional pickup after doing some yard cleanup. Went on the app to schedule and saw the rate if $130 which is double the new monthly rate for my service. So I called on June 15th or so to see if that was correct. The guy I spoke with, Kevin I believe, tapped on the keyboard a while, says ok we'll be there tomorrow. I asked how much it was going to be, he said, "it's not giving me a price so it's free." Well 2 weeks later and they still had not come for the additional pickup. I called to cancel service. The girl I spoke with wants to investigate why that pick up never happened. It's a shame that after calling and using the app to report a missed recycling can pickup, my recycling can is STILL outside and not empty. For a week I've been told, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience," "We're escalating your situation," "We will accommodate you," and "I'll be speaking with my supervisor." Over the last few years Republic Services has really declined. The frequency of missed pickups is increasing, and one time within the last year, I got a phone call from them informing me that they won't be picking up the trash or recycling for that week, but informed me that they anticipated the service would resume the next week, but no guarantee! They were still charging me full-price for service though (funny how that part always works). The most recent (and currently ongoing) problem I am dealing with is the trash and recycling not being picked up last week (week after labor day weekend) due to them informing me of the incorrect pickup date. I have confirmed with another neighbor in the area and co-worker who lives in another part of the Denver metro area who BOTH also did not have their trash picked up from Republic Services last week either! Something is going on in the Denver area that they have not informed their customers about; I'm skeptical that this is just a "scheduling mistake". Everyday I call, customer service keeps promising and assuring that it will be picked up the next day, but that never happens. I have to waste my time EVERY DAY now to keep calling them to get a pickup rescheduled and it's a roll of the dice if they show up. In parallel I am seeking alternative means to get rid of the ever-growing mound of trash and recycling piled up from the last two weeks; especially because I am skeptical that I will see a trash pickup from Republic Services anytime soon in the near future (or ever). If all the trash and recycling that has accumulated is not picked up by the end of this week, the next step for me is to call American Express to dispute the last payment I made to Republic Services as they are not providing the service that I have already paid for. I speculate that something major is going on with their operations (e.g. strike) or they are arbitrarily cutting costs to make their stock look good to investors (or potential buyout) or something like that, but who knows. C'mon guys, how hard is it really to not screw up pickup the trash? You don't seem to have any of these problems accepting payment from me. I have been with them for years, but have been having issues recently. We have had two trash cans for years. They have been taking both for years. Last week, they only took one. So I called and was told they only took one, because I am only paying for one. So I went ahead and paid an additional $25.32 in addition to my payment of $72.16 for three months. That is $97.48 for three months! I would have just let it go, but today they only took one trash can again. I called and sat on hold for 20 minutes and was told they would be back to pick up the other one. I found another company that is way cheaper and has 4.5 star reviews. Garbage service accurately describes both their industry and the level of service provided. For the second time this month they have not shown up on the expected date. We've called three times this week and were told every day that it had been a mistake they acknowledged and that they were sending someone out that day only to never have anyone show up. Our trash cans have been at the curb every single day this week and now we're facing a fine from the city for leaving our trash cans out too long. Tomorrow is the regularly scheduled pick-up day so I'm leaving them out another day in the hopes that they actually provide the service we contract them for. Snow storm 2021. We get notified at 4pm the day of our pickup that they won't be out. Okay. Fine. We actually got our cans out, but fine. Nope. They aren't coming by at all this week. Recycling? Wish I would have read the reviews before scheduling this company. They delivered our new cans on time - that's about it. Missed our first pickup, which was on a Friday, meaning the earliest time they could make up for the miss was on Tuesday, as they don't work weekends and need 48 hours' notice. Except they also missed the Tuesday pickup. So I had to call Wednesday. It had then been 5 days since our normal trash day, and we'd just moved in, so we had a ton of trash both from moving and from the old owners! But at least they came Wednesday. Then they missed our normal pickup on Friday again, this time both trash and recycling, so we're done. Now I'm trying to get them to collect their cans - they said they'll be out in 3 weeks to get them - and I'm also chasing down a refund for the 3 months I paid in advance. They won't let me cancel the account but continually fail to fulfill their side of the agreement. What Republic Services does should be criminal. Read the fine print!! They may raise the rates at any time or give random fees at any time. And they do!!! We started with them in 2018 for a container at $140 a month. They are now charging $589 a month. A few months ago, they switched our rotted out container but left us a smaller container. We are now trying cancel the service but that will cost us $3000 before the extra fees. And to squeeze the last bit of money they can out of us they are charging "$165.77 plus a applicable taxes and fees" to remove the container. HOW DOES YOUR COMPANY STAY IN BUSINESS?! Calling into customer service isn't so bad, it's their hub that blatantly refuses to honor customer service tickets. It's not my fault and my missed pickup when your online PDF, Online schedule, mailer all say one thing but when you call in to customer service you get a completely different answer. Then when I called because it got too high ($120 for 3 months?? LOL WHAT. 1 trash can, 1 recycling.) They put it down to $60 a month. IF YOU COULD DO THAT FROM THE START, WHY KEEP RAISING MY PRICES? Okay heres the best part. I had autopay on before the readjustment... they turned autopay OFF when they adjusted my payments and then no contact for 3 months. They then hit me with a $35 late fee they refused to remove, even though they cancelled autopay. When I called in, the customer service rep "Kayla" was super uncaring, she didn't give a crap about her job or my problems. That type of person should not be in customer service. Kicker, they scheduled my final pickup for a month out, but arent going to pick up my trash in between now and then according to "Kayla". I'm going to waste management. However, when I called today to ask about the prices without buying another 96 gallon container, I was told by a supervisor that the website needs to be updated and they would not honor their website price. To Whom It May Concern, We have been having issues with our recycling not being picked up consistently for the past 6-weeks. Based on the Yelp reviews, it appears we are not the only once's experiencing issues with having consistent recycling pick up's. Our voices will be added to the chorus of complaints. We have made repeated calls to inform staff that our recycling was never picked up. Initially the call center reps requested we put our recycling out for the following business day for pick up. For a month (2 pick-up cycles) are recycling was never picked up, despite needing their requests. The last rep we spoke to put the blame on us, stating that we didn't have our recycling out on time, which was very disconcerting, because that is not the case. We reminded the rep that we put our rubbish and recycling out on Carr at the request of the drivers so as not to block traffic on 38th Ave. Our recycling was picked up once after that, but yet again, last week no such luck. Now we have a massive pile of recycling in our garage despite paying for the service. We would like to request a credit to our account for the lack of service received for an entire month and ask that someone come and pick up the back log of recycling taking up room in our garage. When I would complain they would offer me lower monthly and then raise it a couple months later. The last straw was the missed pick of 4 cans.
