At this point, with a disability, I need carryout service, which means my bins are just outside my garage door and the driver must walk two car lengths to get my trash and recycling, and two car lengths to return my bins. Republic says they offer this service. Since December ('23), they have quite routinely skipped me. In recent weeks, they have skippe me every time. I phone, text, email. I've talked to city council members. Some Republic employees speak to me with some lack of respect, trying to wiggle out of responsibility. Where I live, I can't get a different company. Do not sign up services with this company, they will jack up their price every year, and when you fed up and ready to leave, they will charge you an arm and leg just to take back their trash cans. Every week my service is skipped. They neglect to pick up trash and recycle without warning. My recycle has been skipped for two cycles, that's four weeks, now. Save yourself the headache. The customer service number transfers you to call centers in other states every time, they won't offer you bill credits, they are useless. Here's an update: I have wasted hours of my life calling these people to have them pick up my recycle bin. The call center people are always very nice, but nothing ever happens. I ordered this trash Service the last week of August they said I would get my container the following week(1st week of September) Never came, I called and they said a Supervisor will call in the next day and bring one out. Nearly 300 one star reviews, that seems about right. I've used Gallegos Sanitation for years with no issue. Gallegos was recently bought out by Republic Services and immediately the service got much worse. I tried to call them on the phone and waited on hold for nearly 20 minutes. The agent did not help me pay my bill and sent me to the web site, the web site only gives errors. When I tried to cancel, the web site will not allow it and only gives a phone number, I call the number and get told to call a different number, you guessed it, back to the first number where they let you sit on hold for 20+ minutes. I agreed to a set price for a two-year time period that was offered. My bill has risen to over $80.00 a quarter. I called the customer service representative was uninterested in resolving the problem. He stated he saw no such contract and stated that a pickup charge would be applied for the containers. These services have quite some gaul. They charge you $50 to set up and about the same to recover containers that would otherwise not be needed to be picked up if they fulfilled the terms of the contract. On top of this the customer service rep wanted personal information not needed for me to complete the transaction. It is none of their buisiness what service I will be going with and how much it will cost. Since they want to know so badly, I'll tell them and all of you. I went with Arizona Sanitation Service which is much cheaper. You would think these businesses would have enough brain cells to let a customer leave without a bad taste in the mouth. There have been some services I have cancelled and returned to because the company didnt flay me going out the door. This is not the case with Republic. Never again. read more

When I called about it telling them I did not know they had started charging they said they notified by call blast and that they would not remove the charge as a one time courtesy. This is the worst trash service I have ever experienced. My husband and I moved into our house in June and in a two month period they missed trash pick up 4 times. Every time we filled out the "missed pickup online" AND called they said to leave our trash out for 48 hours. Unfortunately they never came so not only were we the neighbors that had our trash out all the time, but our trash smelt weekly. Finally after the 4th missed trash pickup we canceled, switched to Waste Connection (which is 1,000 times better), and asked them to pick up our trash cans. 2 months later and countless calls to them we still have our cans that they will not pick up. In addition to that, they keep trying to bill us more money for our monthly bill. The only reason this business gets a single star is because at least one star needs to be selected in order to write a post. This trash service nickles and dimes it's customers for extras. You have an additional empty cardboard box outside of your trash can, you get an extra charge. You have a cardboard box within a cardboard box outside of your trash can, you get an extra charge for not one, but two boxes. If your trash can is just over 50lbs they won't even pick it up. I never had this problem with my old trash service company Waste Management Of Denver at my old residence. Waste Management used to pick up all trash in and around my trash container with no extra charges. Currently working with my entire HOA board to drop Republic Services. Republic Services has nearly a 50/50 record of missing my trash pickup. If you try to call, you get put on perpetual hold, all the while a recording repeats over and over to use the website. I have been filling out the missed pickup for every day on the website since the day they missed. It has been five days now. No response to give me any idea that my form submissions have actually been seen. There have been occasions this went on for weeks. They are very good about taking your money of the auto pay system though. I wish they could get the billing personnel in the trucks. I would not recommend Republic Services. read more

Republic Waste is completely worthless. I struggled with the decision to switch to them when my city started their single-hauler waste system. The mistake the city made was allowing its residents to opt out, because they complained so much. I liked the idea behind it, an attempt to reduce our carbon footprint (less traffic on the streets, less wear and tear on the streets, less air pollution and less noise pollution). But since they allowed an opt-out, that negated the entire premise of reducing. Now they've just added a truck down each street. I gave Republic a try for one week then called to cancel, as they only picked up half my trash that was left out for them. When I called to inquire, they informed me that only the contents of their container will be picked up, even though I had called to ask if I could put something extra out. They said they would send a truck to pick up the remainder of my trash the next day. They never came. I called to cancel at that point. They didn't even care enough to ask why I was canceling. They just said to leave my containers out the next week and they would be picked up. Right on spot, they never showed up. I called and they said I was scheduled to have my containers picked up the next week. I put them out again, they never showed up. I called again. They said to put them out next week. They never showed up. Three weeks now I've put them out on the curb and they've never shown up. I called again today and of course, I'm scheduled for next week. Come to find out, they don't pick up yard waste either. That's a deal-breaker for me anyway. I would have never signed up with them in the first place if I would have known that. In fact, I called prior to making a decision and asked that very question. They lied. Needless to say, I've returned to Waste Connections, who I had for 20 years prior and they had been absolutely perfect for me. Wish I would have never agreed to give Republic a try. I checked the Labor Day week pickup schedule for my neighborhood on Republic's own website. My normal trash pickup day is Tuesday. On Republic's site the schedule clearly showed pickup would be on Wednesday 9/7/22. The trash wasn't picked up on Wednesday morning so I called them. Call #1. The rep confirmed that I was correct in expecting the trash pickup on Wednesday. Apologized and assured me the trash would be picked up either by the end of the day Wednesday or by the end of the day Thursday. Trash not picked up Wednesday. So, Call #2. I call Thursday morning to confirm it would be picked up by the end of the day Thursday. Again I get a confirmation that the trash pickup would be by the end of the day Thursday. Trash not picked up Thursday. Call #3 Friday morning. This time she can't promise that the trash will be picked up that day. She's going to "escalate" the complaint to a manager and says that should make it more likely the trash will be picked up Friday. She tells me if it doesn't get picked up today it will not get picked up until my next regularly scheduled pickup on Tuesday. She does guarantee that I will get a call today (Friday) one way or another. Whether the trash gets picked up I WILL get a call. I didn't get a call. I ask why the online calendar AT REPUBLIC'S WEBSITE shows a pickup and then they don't pickup. She says the website isn't updated and she'll mail me a schedule of the correct pickup days. Wrong information on their website? So poorly managed. This company is horrible. The tell you what you want to hear to placate you and get you off the phone and then don't follow through with what they say they're going to do.
