We have had Republic for several years, and mostly have had good service. An occasional service pushback of one day, due to mechanical or staffing issues, but these were rare. I have been pleased with certain behaviours; I've seen when some trash did not make it into the truck, and one of the guys hopped out of the truck to grab the small amount of loose trash. I was very impressed, as I've seen some other companies in our neighborhood make a mess and not pick up after themselves. Unfortunately, something has gone awry. This year, there have been several occasions where they miss a collection, usually recycling, and often with no notice. We're hoping for improvement, but starting to explore alternatives. read more

Not just unreliable but completely incapable of performing the one basic service they are paid to do. Their idea of customer service is to feed customers the same copy-and-paste lie: "It will be picked up today." It's their script, their go-to line, their replacement for actually doing their job. Months ago, they repeatedly failed to collect my trash. I called over and over, and every single time I was told the same empty promise. It became obvious they weren't checking schedules, weren't escalating anything, and frankly weren't even trying. They just needed to get me off the phone. Fast-forward to now, and the same circus is happening again but worse. Yard waste has been sitting at the curb, rotting, blowing around, making my property look like I'm the irresponsible one. I've called multiple times, and every time it's the same script, the same fake reassurance, the same total lack of follow-through. This is not a bad week or a one-off mistake. This is a pattern of systemic failure a company that cannot keep its promises, cannot deliver basic service, and cannot communicate honestly with the people who pay them. I've never experienced a company so uninterested in fixing problems or even acknowledging them. I am canceling my service permanently, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid Republic Services entirely. There are unreliable companies, and then there is whatever this is -- a complete breakdown of accountability, professionalism, and basic operational competence. My rating is ZERO! Their service is diabolical at this point. I feel like I'm being gaslighted. No pickups for 3 weeks. My endless calls mean nothing. They just keep apologizing and promising that it'll be picked up "before 6 o'clock today" but they never show up. I didnt end up going with them for budget reasons but the prior home owner used them. I have been trying to get them to come pick up the old 95 gallon bins now for 5 weeks, I have called 5 times and nobody comes to pick these bins up. Ive escalated this issue to a supervisor twice and still these local brand will not come pick them up. The bins have been on the curb for 5 weeks! I've been with Republic Services for many years, but in the last year and a half, they have been aweful. Republic continually misses pick ups at least 2x a month. You can never reach anyone directly, everything goes through their answering service. I had my scheduled service for pickup on 11/20/2025 and today is 11/25/2025 and still no pickup. They make promises they can't keep. All they tell me is they have staffing and scheduling issues. I have decided to cancel my services with them after being a loyal customer. I have been with Republic Service for years and the bill went to up to a extraordinary amout. I received quotes from other trash services and they were so much cheaper and offered more then Republic Services. Tried to call them to discuss and was transferred and put on hold for more then 20 minutes I finally hung up. After 20 years of being a customer at 2 different homes, I would give them zero stars if I could. I canceled my service in July, however, they still charged me for August, September, and October. They also scheduled days they would pick up my cans, but never did. I called them about getting a refund and they told me I can't get refunded until they receive the cans... how is it my problem that your company can't pick up the cans and you hold MY money like it's my fault that your company won't pick up the cans on scheduled days. I want to first start off with Republic Services as a company deserve no stars. I had to give one star to post review, they don't even deserve one star. I started services with this company in 2015, as the years went by my amount went up with no explanation. Missed pickups due to multiple reasons were very common. Sometimes it was multiple days before my trash and or recycling was pickup up. And just so you know they charge you for picking up the cans when you cancel services. $30 each can plus fuel and environmental fee of 37.14 % of the 2 trash can removal fee (where in the world does this percentage come from????). Then they charge $5.95 administrative fee. Craziness, end up being more then half of the charge for 3 months of removing my trash/recycling weekly, how does this make any sense???? When trying to get explanations on amount charged and reason I didn't really receive a sufficient response. This is no way to thank a 10 year customer!!!!!! This company did not pick up my trash last week. I called yesterday to pick up then as my trash is backing up. The agent provided no reason why they did not pick up and that that not be there yesterday but will be here today. it is after 3pm est and still no show. I called and said they have until 4pm. Again still no reasn why. The rest of the neighborhood has not been picked up either. This is absolutely ridiculous! I've been a customer for over 20 years. If they are not here by 4pm, I'll be dumping them. And I was offered no credit. I'll also add that their rates have been increasing with another $20 they added to this quarter! read more

Worst trash company out there hands down, if I could give them a negative 100 I would. Missed 8 pick ups this year.....with two in the month of July and one this August this week. Two of the excuses I was told by their customer service representative was that it was bc of a "driver discrepancy ", whatever that means. Then they were supposed to pick up today....after missing last week's pick up....the lady told me their truck broke down. So I asked if they will be picking up tomorrow (Friday) she said yes....so I told her I hope so bc we paid 183 dollars for trash pick up and you all have missed 2 pick ups last month and now another. So I called another trash company and signed up with them for 96 dollars for 3 months...half of what Republic Services is charging, ridiculous! So basically we have a full bin and 6 bags of trash outside of the bin with nieghbors driving by staring ( they all have Blue Hen) like we don't pay our bill or we are slobs....wtf. I am given a negative review due to the fact in order to change a trash can out that when you placed on the curb the odar was fine but when they picked up the trash the can odor was off the charts and do not know why. I called customer service and spoke to Tianna and was advised for them to switch out a trash can that it would be $43. This after being with their company for a very long time. You should not have to pay for an exchange in a can. Evan Deldot cleans the roads which is included in our taxes but the trash company won't exchange a can with a clean one. After multiple years recent service was really bad. Multiple forgotten pickups and lack of response from company. After 3 weeks of forgotten pickup I canceled the service. Once canceled 6 weeks have passed before getting refund and on three occasions they have said cans will be picked up on dates and no pickup. My cans are now sitting for almost 12 weeks on the curb and HOA is not having it. Today's phone call I was told they can not schedule a date and someone will just be there at some point. The most recent case it took 3 phone calls and over 2 weeks to get my recycling picked up. I canceled my service and they scheduled a can pick up for 2/15. The day goes by and they aren't picked up. I call and the agent tells me they rescheduled it for 2/13 and they never told me. She sends a case to the supervisor to see if they can pick up on 2/16.
