These folks don't get back to you, period. They should be reported to the better business bureau or should be shut down.

I'd recommend getting there a little early, due to a good amount of pets that come, as it is first come first serve so I suggest coming a little early. Otherwise, the process takes a little less than a few hours and totally worth it!

This review is for the Rehoboth Beach Adoption Center on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach, DE. The…read moreadoption center is associated with the main location in Wilmington, DE, but doesn't have a Yelp specific page. My daughter and I visited this location to look at the dogs and cats. We have plans to adoption another dog possibly if we can find the right personality. Plus coming from a animal sheltering background of 20+ years, I cannot pass up an opportunity to visit any animal shelter. The lady working at the front desk - Kimberly D. was so kind and super friendly! She was so nice to my daughter who loves cats and wants to volunteer at a shelter when she is old enough. The lady showed us the cat room and talked to Giana about ways she can help animal shelters even though she isn't old enough to actually volunteer at a shelter. She told us how other kids would ask for animal supplies as birthday gifts instead of the usual gift for themselves. She showed us the dog areas where we got to see the dogs. Overall, our experience was the highlight of the day and I am truly grateful for Kimberly's kindness and enthusiasm for the work that she does. I'm sure she made an impact on my daughter as well!!!

The Chenoa Manor is a non-profit animal sanctuary. It has farm animals and exotics. I had the…read moreopportunity to tour the grounds and meet many of the animals. It's great that they been able to save so many animals. And anyone can help out by donating to this organization. Note - It's also important to mention that they do not accept domestic animals or animals surrendered by their owners at this sanctuary.

Dan beat me to the first review!…read more Our vegetarian meet up group just got back from a wonderful tour of Chenoa Manor. It's truly amazing, the dedication and work that the owner and volunteers put into the place. Getting to see the animals graze freely and happily is wonderful, and I especially loved hearing the stories of the animals on the sanctuary. We were lucky enough to visit with a goat and two rams who wanted nothing more than pets and head scratches. The pigs were also entertaining as they rubbed against the fence trying to reach an itch. Other animals who call Chenoa home include: cows, tortoises, turkeys, geese, rabbits, llamas, chickens, mules, horses, parrots, dogs, and an extremely friendly cat. Chenoa also runs a youth program, allowing for high schoolers to spend time working on the farm and tending to the animals. A visit to Chenoa definitely displays the interconnection between species. Getting to be up close with the animals, it's clear that there isn't much of a difference between farm animals and the dog or cat that you call your pet. Whether vegetarian, vegan, or carnist, I recommend visiting the farm during their next tour, or donating if you're able. I had a lovely time, and I will be coming back in the future and bringing others with me.

She was brought in as a feral stray and the staff worked with her to be socialized. With some love, she has become a wonderful pet. Our second pet was a 1 year old dog in 2021. Then a kitten in 2022, another dog (for my daughter who was a senior in college at the time) in Jan 2024, and another cat in May 2024. Each of these animals had different histories, and with some love and affection at home, they have become wonderful pets. Our last cat had a respiratory illness when we adopted him. This was fully disclosed to us at the time, and they provided meds which cleared him up. We got full vet checks and medical histories for all, and the kitten we adopted in 2022 was able to come back to the SPCA to be neutered when he was old enough.

The Vet couldn't tell me what the tumor was only that even if she did an Ultra sound the genius surgeon on staff wouldn't feel comfortable operating!!!! I explained what was going on the the Dumb receptionist, if you aren't equipped with capable doctors why are you even making an appointment for me, and then Charging me for a Special Visit that's more than regular, when the Genius Vet said, oh we only do routine things here like spay and neuter and shots. Then give me my F$$$ing money back!! This place needs to be shut down and Completely revamped with real Vets!! NON PROFIT my Behind they rob poor people!!!! The CEO of the SPCA hides out in his big office taking all the donations and the shelter and the animal clinic have nothing ! I would like to see how the CEO lives I bet his pets go to Top of the Line Animal Clinics!!! Just like Children's Hospital and all the other NON profit organizations in this crappy state, they all hide behind the NON-Profit label and the top dogs are all millionaire's and feed the people they are suppose to help a bunch of dirt crap. The crappy Governor of PA knows this and they all wash each others hands in Gold Bars at the poor persons expense!!!!

Why then would they rush animals through - who were brought in as strays and had names attached to their microchip? It'svery interesting to me that a non profit who prides themselves on being "good guys" is worried primarily with image. Their CEO Adam Lamb makes over 400,000 a year and Mike Kaviani their COO makes over 100,000. My indoor outdoor cat was taken there and adopted out. The details of which are unnecessary as my legal standing is moot. I will never see my cat again. An animal I adopted and had for seven years. I'm writing this review to inform people of three things... first, is that if you adopt there is a chance your animal could be sick - there's no way they did necessary tests in the amount of time they had my cat. Second, there's a chance an owner could come forward and claim your pet. Third - I wrote a review before ... and was contacted by Mike Kaviani personally. During that call he asked me to remove my reviews. Which I obliged. I've noticed the goal, was and will continue to be damage control but I'd like to directly speak to Mike in this review and say that since it takes negative reviews to get your attention... maybe you will change your policies. I honestly believe that at the very least I can use this opportunity to save someone else from the heartbreak my four children are experiencing.
