I had heard of this company through USF, as George, the instructor, is an alum. It was such a great experience getting ACLS and PALS certified through him -- he was extremely thorough, using case studies and posing questions to really further our learning/understanding. Took my initial ACLS/PALS course here with George. For first timers the instructor will call to get some quick info and right off the bat, he made me feel comfortable and excited for the class. I was very nervous to take the class, but I really appreciated that he remembered speaking on the phone. He's personable, chill, and says things like they are- in a respectful manner. The atmosphere was relaxed and he made sure to immerse everyone in his scenarios. There was no pressure to answer. When you don't know an answer, he makes sure to explain rationale and checks in frequently if the information is clear. He does a great job of keeping the environment light with his sense of humor and is very patient. Overall, a great experience. I did my initial ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications here, then returned for renewals. It's a little out of the way for me, but absolutely worth it, and I know I'll never get an education like this elsewhere. The classes are interactive, and the instructor appreciates every answer given. Nobody is shamed for a "wrong" answer either, which really helps keep up morale and interest in learning. I really feel like I learn for real emergency situations, rather than just learning from the book. My favorite part is ending the ACLS session by running a code with our eyes closed. Taking a ACLS class has always been nerve wrecking. I was again worried, but left relieved and learned so much more. Had to book a last minute CPR class and didn't want the option of doing it online and then coming in for skills. I'm glad I took the extra time to find an in person renewal course. First of all, love the location and the office. Very clean and well organized. The instructor, George was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I enjoyed the real life scenarios and repetition of skills. It really helped the material stick. I learned a few new things such as how to give CPR to someone who was pregnant. I have never had an instructor who provided knowledge that would be helpful clinically. Instructors typically only focus on the information found in the manuals. George not has the warmest smile but also creatively reviewed the Hs & Ta and algorithms with the class by having everyone participate interactively by not even having to get us out of our seats (although he gave us a workout on making sure we delivered quality compressions). He repeatedly went over the application of skills and information with our eyes open and closed for it basically takes focus and attention. I found my time worthwhile with how well-organized he comprehensively conducted the class by incorporating ACLS PALS and BLS in correlation with AHA guidelines.
