Ok, where do I begin. I've had a couple root canals before. It's never an easy thing to prepare for. However my experience here with Reseda Dental Group was truly immaculate. No pain, doc explained each step, had this special guard to keep debris from getting on my tongue, it was over all such a pleasant experience. The procedure was done in a time manner. So I came in to see the truly amazing people at Reseda Dental after literally years of not having seen a dentist+ having an urgent need for a highly specialized/difficult/not a normal root canal due to several complications, it was at an advanced stage (in other words, I really should've done this procedure well over a year ago but couldn't after having been screwed over by an insurance company and not having found out until after open enrollment had closed which led to a cascade of events resulting in me not being able to obtain dental coverage that included root canals for over a year beyond when I really should've had this procedure... anyway, it was a whole thing and it sucked. Suffice it to say that The entire staff at Reseda Dental absolutely blew me away, and impressed me beyond what I could've ever expected. A+++++ I cannot give a higher recommendation! Seriously - these people are amazing and helped me in so many ways when they didn't have to and it made a huge difference in my life. I'm deeply grateful to Reseda Dental particularly Dr. Harmick, Dr. Kim, Jonathan, Edith, and Julie. [read on for a more detailed account]: When I arrived for my consult it was definitely infected (which x-rays during my consultation at Reseda Dental confirmed), with complications that exacerbated the effect on my life e.g. disallowing me from eating solid foods+causing pain & discomfort physically, mentally, causing myriad anxieties, fears & just a full on cornucopia of discomfort which I lived with for over a year, including not being able to use the left side of my mouth to chew (this is the fault of an insurance company that screwed me over back during open enrollment - and had nothing whatsoever to do with Reseda Dental - they have only given me solutions, and not caused a single problem for me whatsoever. They are also realistic, honest, and concise despite being so kind and understanding - a rare combination of traits to find in any individual let alone to see integrated into the culture of a whole office and indeed put into great affect towards the end of delivering a higher level of treatment and understanding of their patients needs, than I've seen anywhere else outside of concierge medicine (normally costs many thousands per year just to be a member so that they can spend more time and give more attentionn to each individual patient - it seems that Reseda Dental has achieved such an exceptionally high level of treatment and efficiency that they are able to match and even eclipse the aggregate value and overall quality of care than even the best concierge medicine can deliver. I have been treated by all sorts of offices/practices in 7+ countries and have truly seen the gamut - you will not find any practice that is significantly better than Reseda Dental - I can say that with complete confidence. It quickly became clear after initially interacting with Jonathan then Dr. Harmick during my consult, and very obviously getting the same sense of genuineness and the professionalism I got from Jonathan, being treated with respect as were my concerns, with true care for each individual and a clearly genuine desire to help people in whatever way he can which is indeed a rare and sought after set of traits in anyone but (I would later find that this indeed appears to be one of many positive side effects, which extend to the entire staff of Reseda Dental), resulting from an obvious and distinctively intentional culture evident here, which helped me feel a lot more comfortable with a difficult situation which had many unresolved components, including a concern that they may refuse to do a root canal due to the extent of the situation (this was before I knew them)- a cavity had fallen out of that molar due to grinding a long time ago, and I actually got dental coverage during open enrollment but then when I went to use it for a root canal, they denied having even ever given me dental ins., and just bold faced lied to me - giving me a health policy instead of dental insurance which I had clearly been intending to purchase - anyway, this was the initial event which caused a cascade leading to me not having been able to acquire root canal coverage for over a year after that filling came out (and I grind my teeth so I was really worried it could break at any time causing immense pain) so the hole in that tooth was huge, and it required heroics to save - many Dr's would've refused to even attempt a root canal - and I was genuinely concerned and needed treatment right away... thank you again to Dr Kim, Dr Harmick, Edith, Julie, and, Jonathan!!!! I am his patient for years now, but then I moved and I changed my dentist for 3 years. Sure enough, Lost my beautiful smile because of wrong decisions that other dentists made for me that only costed so much. I had to come back to Dr. Harmick and have him fix me up! Made this appointment like 2 months in advance because they were booked so far out. The place is in a little plaza with many other businesses. Got here at 3:50 and no one was at the front desk, just many signs that said to sign in and step outside to wait for me to be called. No seating outside so I just sat by the planter. I was seen at 4:05 and filled out paperwork and sat inside to be called. I didn't get actually seen until 4:45. Friendly staff dentist seemed like he was in a rush. On July 27th I went in for a tooth extraction. I was given the extraction and sent to the pharmacy. It's protocol for you to label any allergies you may have on an intake form, so when they prescribe medications you don't have any allergic reactions or even death. I specifically labeled I was allergic to penicillin and after my extraction I was prescribed Amoxicillin which are in the same family of antibiotics and are pretty much the same. The only reason I found this out was because the pharmacist at Kaiser noticed on my chart that I was allergic to penicillin. After leaving the office at 12:57 to go straight to the pharmacy to get my medicine, the pharmacist tried calling Reseda Dental at around 1:30 to get an alternative prescribed for me as having the right antibiotic same day was crucial for my healing and prevention of infection. Reseda Dental never picked up. I called 11 times from 2:30 to 3:33 with no answer. So I decide to drive all the way back to Reseda Dental to let them know this was an emergency and needed to be taken care of. To my dismay I get there and they are closed which is odd because their hours clearly state they are open till 7 on their door and on their Yelp page. Why conduct major procedures like extractions and then leave early without letting your patients know in case they need to communicate with you afterward. Luckily my primary dentist was available to call directly, and on her off day away from the office, she called Kaiser and prescribe me the correct antibiotics. The is major Negligence and luckily I caught this mistake before something serious happened. No one paid attention to my chart obviously, and I pray no one else goes through this. As patients we put our trust and quite literally our lives in the hands of medical and dental professionals, this shows that all they care about is collecting money from insurance and clients, and not the well being of their patients. This situation caused me stress and wasted time. This is horrible customer service. read more

But when I had a change of insurance several years ago, they only allow HMO dentist. :( So I did lots of research on dentists and there aren't too many HMO dentist around and even less that is any good. I also found some HMO dentists have fake reviews. After doing lots of research, I finally found this dentist. They have modern dental equipment. He is a very good HMO dentist. They even have a special way to deep clean your teeth in one day vs 2 days at other dentist. If you have any questions, they happy to talk to you and answer any questions you have. You can't go wrong with this dentist. Anyway, now I change insurance again so I'm back at my friend's dental office. read more

I am not sure what happened, but I picked this dental group with my insurance because of all the positive reviews. I unfortunately experienced nothing positive with the dental group. I had an issue with a tooth that had a filling that cracked which they took X-rays to send insurance company to get a root canal approved under insurance. The insurance company denied it because the dentist did not describe in detail what is needed. I spoke to office and asked them to give more detail, they said they did but they sent the same damn thing and got denied again. They did offer to give me a discount on the treatment if I want to go ahead. That upset me because it seems they don't care about the patient they just want the money for the treatment. I expected more from this place especially when they had so many great reviews. I wonder how many of those were actually legitimate. Changed places because of the dishonest approach they took with me. The response to my review is a joke. The insurance company stated that what you explained in your notes and X-ray is not sufficient enough for them. Your office should have done more and detailed the situation. read more

Friendly staff. I am long over due for a root canal unfortunately I chickened out a few times at the end due to a fear of the dentist. The staff is very friendly though and reassuring they even worked with me considering I rescheduled my root canal about 3 times /: Only concern I might have is I felt the dentist a bit annoyed at the fact that I wouldn't keep my mouth fully open during a filling but then that's understandable considering it interferes with his work. I just wish he would of had a bit more patience with me. Definitely give them a shot. My wife goes here and is in process of getting her braces and she loves it here. read more

Dr. Harmick Taroian is amazing. The patience of a saint. I had a really deep cavity on the side of my tooth, and he patiently (on two separate appointments) gave me all my options in a clear manner. I am the most indecisive person on the planet when it comes to the care of my teeth. I never know what to do, root canal, extraction, implant...etc. We in the end decided to pull it and go for the implant in a few months. I am particularly squeamish and sensitive (really sensitive gums!) about shots in my mouth, and he does it in a way that was not bad at all. I think my own fears of "what usually happens" when i go to the dentist and get shots caused me to be more anxious than i needed to be. Kudos to the assisting staff too, for holding this big baby's hand! I am so glad I found this dentist and his caring staff. This is my new favorite dental office in the Valley. Came in, signed in, and waited outside in an outdoor cozy area with chairs, space, and shade. In order to keep everyone safe from Covid. Only one person could wait inside. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I had x-rays, a consultation, and a cleaning. The doctor is very cool and professional. He's skilled at what he does because he left my teeth really clean with the proper tools. You can't beat their out of pocket prices. Great price for quality work. To be honest I was a bit shy and nervous because I hadn't visit the dentist in quite a while and I was worried about being judged but when I got the Dental office I was greeted by Julie and she's so wonderful she has the best people skills you can possibly ask for, right away she made feel comfortable and made me feel like i had nothing to worried about. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt & overlooking the racial comments that were made by the dentist here which happened to me also. I was racially interrogated/profiled by him. My appointment was for a a cleaning which he said if he has time he'll do like he's doing me a favor & not his job. He partially refused my cleaning so I just walked out. I was clearly told that I'd get either a regular cleaning during this visit or a appointment for a deep cleaning if I needed one which I didn't! I went in for a deep cleaning last week. I was in and out within 40 minutes. That includes checking in and paying, getting prepped and numb (waiting for the mouth to numb) and my deep cleaning. I was disappointed because I've had a deep cleaning done before at another location and it took at least an hour. I paid $330 for this visit. That is a lot of money for me because I am a full time student. I'm not a dentist but when I compare this deep cleaning to the one I've had somewhere else, it was not thorough. After doing my own research and from my previous deep cleaning experience, a deep cleaning should take 45minutes to an hour long. At my previous location the dentist numbed my gums then used a ultrasonic scaler, then used cleaning tools such as dental probe or tarter scraper etc. to clean each tooth, then flossed. At this location I was only numbed and the dentist only used a ultrasonic scaler. I'm not going back! That was too much money for a 30 minute deep cleaning. read more

I was referred by my insurance to Reseda Dental group back in 2008 for my braces. Ive been coming here since. Everyone there is extremely nice and professional. Ive always been terrified of the dentist but Dr. Harmick makes you feel very comfortable. Now i bring my 2 kids here and even my 7 year old says they are way better than his old dentist. I came here Thursday to have my root canal tooth that I had done at another dentist checked. I met with Dr. Kim for about five minutes he took an x-ray and said that the tooth looked fine and I needed to give it about a week to calm down. I also met with the main dentist about my night guard and getting the crown put on. He was very nice and had a great sense of humor, very high-energy guy. Brenda deserves five stars alone as she was able to transfer me to this office mid month and worked with HealthNet to get me seen the next day. I had over an hour wait, which had me aggravated while I was in pain. My insurance doesn't cover crowns so I had it done for 100 bucks less yesterday at my other dentist. There was an almost naked guy changing his clothes behind their building and the area is sketchy. Other than that they all are nice here and I'll come for my cleanings. They only have 4 chairs in the waiting room and need more as it's a busy office. read more

The BEST dentist EVER! For several years, I have always had trouble finding a good dentist and every dentist I have been has never been as good as Dr. Harmick! He is honestly very caring and has the most patience. He will always make you feel comfortable and makes sure safety is his #1 priority. I am deathly afraid of needles and shots in my mouth and he a soft touch when it comes to this part. I never stress out anymore and he always makes sure I am feeling comfortable and happy. (The dentist is also very funny!) Before every procedure, he explains everything in detail and makes sure the patient understands everything before he begins. He really cares for his patients and wants the best for them!! I have been going to this place for several years now and I am extremely satisfied with the service!!
