SKETCHY PLACE
Doesn't seem to be any updated comments for 2016 but here's one for you.
I rarely find myself leaving a negative review on businesses but this is one of those rare cases. I dropped my car off on Thursday July 14, 2016 (I was hit and had a dent on my back left quarter panel) and was told of the terms and basic things like if there's a problem they'd CALL to let me know. It was projected to be a 3 day job by my insurance adjuster, but I know it'll probably be more 7-10 days. Monday July 24, 10 days pass by with no calls made to me about any updates or problems. Must be because they're busy working on my car right? --Wrong. I MYSELF had to call and find out that nothing was started on my car due to a halt because a wrong quote was given for the repair. Turns out they found that out on Wednesday, almost a week after I dropped off my car, and I myself had to call them to get an update and find all of this out. (And this was over 3 phone calls between 2 hours because the receptionist kept saying she'd call me back with more info, which never happened.) All status and info on my car had to come from me calling them. Not a single call has been made from them to me telling me anything. After hearing all this of course I ask to talk to the owner/manager, John, whom from the previous comments is made out to be kind and accommodating person. --WRONG. I asked why I wasn't updated on anything and why it took almost a week for them to find out something was wrong and had to get my insurance's approval for the proposed addition to the quote. He preceded to tell me that jobs like these take time and that the adjuster that gave me the quote was an amateur. He even asked which receptionist I had talked to as if they were in trouble. I didn't ask for excuses or for him to blame anyone. Employees are reflections of their employers. At this point neither of us are exactly calm, but I'm a customer who's been left in the dark about his vehicle that's in the care of someone whose job is to fix it. As a business owner, what's his excuse? He then, straight out of a business owner's mouth, promises to have it done by Saturday July 30th. GUARANTEED he says.
Guess what. That's today and I just got off the phone with John, the nice guy. Is my car done? Nope. I've been told that it'll have to be picked up Monday instead. You can imagine the kind of conversation I had with John about how he conducts his business, how he conducts himself, and how he should be talking to customers who he himself has failed. Oh and during this conversation, not a single apology was given. Maybe the John in the other "reviews" was really nice, but this John sure wasn't.
To be honest, I wouldn't be mad about picking up my car almost 3 weeks after dropping it off. But not keeping a customer updated on their repair status, not informing them of the changes made to the quote, and worst off all promising things to a customer that they can't follow through on-- all reasons I feel I had to say my piece. I shouldn't have to reach out myself every single time to get an update. All you have to do is keep a person in the loop and up to date and they probably won't have too much of a problem waiting, but keeping a customer hanging with no idea whether everything is going along well or not is bound to set people up with unmet expectations. And don't make promises you can't keep. It makes you look bad, even worse it makes your business look bad.
If I'd known it'd take this long and that I'd be treated like this as a customer directly by the owner, I'd definitely would've taken my car elsewhere to be repaired. And this is all without even getting my car back and inspecting it. This review is purely on the business itself.
Oh and on the day that I dropped off my car, another customer was ahead of me complaining about receiving a ticket for not having a front license plate. Turns out the shop forgot to reattach it from her repair before. I guess I should've taken that as a sign about the place huh?
UPDATE: Got my car AFTER finding out they only take cash. That's for both the repair that's covered by my insurance and the deductible I had to pay. I found it super sketchy that I had to cash in my INSURANCE check to pay them considering the reason they took more time on my car was because the original quote "wasn't right", but they didn't request for a new check from my insurance so did they really contact my insurance in the first place? Or was it just another excuse. Oh and I asked for a copy of the receipt/invoice and repair warranty.--The receptionist hands me what she says is the receipt. Funny thing is, it doesn't have a single listed item of parts used, repairs made, or any prices for that matter written anywhere on it. And for some reason the envelope full of my cash was in the receptionist's back pocket. Doesn't seem like the place you'd put business money in.
All in all, this place is sketchy, suspicious, and has horrible customer service. read more
