This is, by far, the best Residence Inn by Marriott I have stayed in. I'm am Marriott Platinum so I have stayed in quite a few. The staff is exceptional. Friendly competent and welcoming. The hotel lobby, kitchen area, pool, work out room, laundry and whirlpool is kept spotless. The rooms are very spacious and have all you need to cook clean and be comfortable. The breakfast is more than the usual inedible items of the day and edible staples. All the food put out is great, as is the breakfast staff. read more

I have recently begun staying at Marriot brand hotels and the Residence Inn at Bangor does not disappoint. There is plenty of parking both public and private (behind a key activated gate) and it's FREE. The lobby is very clean and staff is very friendly. I was able to get approved for a late checkout which is helpful as we are attending the PBR event next door at the Cross Insurance Center. The convenience of being able to walk to any venue at the center is very convenient and worth the costs. I got a king bed suite which has plenty of room and a pull out couch. Bathrooms are huge with plenty of lighting and our room had an oversized walk-in shower. Pressure and water temp were great and I didn't feel like I didn't have any room to move around. Bed is comfortable and like most places the pillows are "eh", where I typically have to stack a couple to get comfortable for me to sleep. The little kitchen has everything you need to cook a small meal for your family if you choose to. Ice maker is built into the freezer making it easy to produce ice without having to walk down a long hallway to find the ice machine. It's full size refrigerator in the suite so we ordered Walmart delivery to bring some snacks and drinks to the room. The Hollywood Casino is located across the street and there is plenty of restaurants and shopping within 2-3 miles of the area. If you are attending an event at the Cross Insurance Center, I would highly recommend that you stay at the Residence Inn both for convenience and comfort. The Timber Kitchen and Bar is located within the hotel but also accessible from outside the hotel. Read about my review with them that you won't want to miss. I've always been a fan of Residence Inn properties, and this one didn't disappoint; while mine was a very short stay, I had zero complaints. Tip: If you are staying for a longer period of time, it makes sense to request a room with a kitchenette. While I didn't request one specifically, my room had a kitchenette, and it was fully equipped with a fridge, a microwave, and a dishwasher. This would be the perfect setup if I'd been planning to stay for a week or more :-) My room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a large bathroom. It also had fairly large closets. There was a fairly large sitting area, and a well-appointed workspace to facilitate going online while staying here. Like with many other Marriott properties I've stayed at, breakfast is included; it's self-serve, and features several different hot and cold offerings. Last, but not decidedly not least, the hotel restaurant (Timber) is surprisingly high-end for a venue associated with a hotel. The food, ambiance, and service were all exceptional! read more

Amazing hotel, with large clean rooms! The beds are sooo comfy and they have a full kitchen in every room. They have free breakfast in the morning that is really good as well. The restaurant in the hotel Timber is great too. It's also walking distance to downtown and the concert venue. Amenities were nice. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant and bar were really solid. Only issue we had was the soundproofing - people walking above us throughout the night sounded like a hammer. Probably not uncommon for people to come and go at all hours, between the casino and summer concert series. So that's something to watch out for. We are local within an hour's drive of Bangor and chose this hotel on a whim when we needed a night away from home, and between the $250/night last min room cost and another $100 with tip and tax for apps and a half bottle carafe or (jug?, is that really what the menu said? Of wine). We were in at 9 and out by 7 but it was worth every penny. Next time I would check in earlier and try to sleep in but it wasn't in the cards that night. I've stayed at many a-lofts and Marriott residence inns and other comparable hotels and this was by far one of the nicest. Nice linens, comfortable beds, spotless rooms, clean modern entry way, ample parking, indoor pool and hot tub, warm front desk reception and professional staff. Would not hesitate to return. Also, rooms are suites with a full kitchen with a nice size fridge and everything you need inside for a longer stay. Restaurant on site was mediocre food-wise (we got a soup, salad, and hummus plate and none of them we really wanted to finish) but the wine list and service were spectacular. read more

All in all, this hotel was pretty decent, nothing too special but the rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom door wouldn't close because the carpet was raised too high and would block it from doing so, but it wasn't a big deal. The breakfast was decent and had all of the usual stuff. Our family vehicle was stolen from their parking lot overnight. The manager apologized but that was the extent of their involvement. No offer to reduce our rate, no offer to help us find a ride home for our family of 5. Video surveillance showed our vehicle being stolen but no clear video of the criminals themselves. The individual was never caught. Our vehicle was found in Saugus, Mass. We were told by police the vehicle was stolen to transport drugs out of State. We understand the hotel was not liable for this violation. We have been dealing with police, insurance, mechanics, etc for almost a month now. It's been a complete interruption of life. The hotel manager offered a verbal apology that felt cold and insincere. The hotel could have been far more accommodating after this incident but they chose not to. read more

Downgraded to 3 stars primarily for the lack of COVID safety communication to guests. No mention during checking in about any of the rules and expectations. Had to ask.... Front desk friendly and rooms spotless clean. We would stay again but management needs better training for staff on good communication during a pandemic. read more

I was really impressed by this hotel! The rooms were perfect, great TV, fantastic internet, easy parking, and the restaurant downstairs (Timber) rivals some of the best restaurants I've ate at! Certainly not something you'd expect in Bangor let alone a hotel. The best part of my visit though was upon checkout the extremely kind man manning the Front Desk offered me an ice scraper and offered to shovel out my car! I had stayed here due to a cancelled flight because of a Blizzard. The snow system dropped 18.3" of snow so as you can imagine my car was blanketed with snow. Even after saying I'd do it myself, he put on his coat and followed me to my car! Literally amazing and speaks volume for the level of service this hotel strives for. We chose this hotel on a whim while driving up to UMaine. What a nice surprise! It sits just off the freeway and next to an event center and across the street from a casino. Timber (an upscale restaurant/bar) was closing when we arrived but we were able to eat within walking distance 10:30 on a Tuesday night. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the full kitchen would've been great had we stayed longer. The complimentary breakfast was decent and staff was great! I stayed here on the 13th of this month and had one of the best experiences EVER in a hotel! The room was stunning, so clean and everything I ever needed in a stay was available to me. The staff was so helpful! The receptionist, Travis, was so kind and professional. I would have never guessed he was fairly new to this property! I spent a wonderful happy hour in the Timber Kitchen & Bar, which is located inside the hotel. Josh was my bartender and he was a delight to have a conversation with! So bubbly, attentive and a great sense of humor...being a bartender myself, this went a long way with me! In the morning, I enjoyed a beautiful array of breakfast items, all being put together by a very nice and friendly attendant. There were scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit cups, danishes, breakfast bars...assortment of juices, teas, coffee. I was amazed at how much there was! This hotel was amazing, also with their Covid measures...the sanitation was at its best! When I return to my hometown in the future, I will be sure to stay nowhere else, but here! read more

Having stayed at 100's of hotels over the years, from 1-star to 5-star, I would rank this hotel among the best I have ever visited. Two years ago, I stayed here and was looking forward to visiting again this year as my son played football in the area again. The location is convenient off the highway with plenty of parking. The front desk staff could not have been better, whether it was a seamless check-in or getting us a bag of ice as our ice maker in our room was not working. They were top-notch. The hotel lobby, elevator, hallways, and rooms were spotless. You would think that this hotel just opened. A added benefit is the Timber restaurant located just off the lobby. The interior is beautiful, the outside seating is very inviting, and the food is outstanding. I wish they were both closer as they would be on my regular rotation. Just opened in October and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. I've stayed at hotels all over the world and I feel very comfortable in this hotel. Great customer service provided by the front desk staff (Andrew) and the general manager. If I have a reason to stay in the Bangor area again in the future there is no question I will stay at this hotel. You are not going to find a better hotel in the Bangor area. It is particularly convenient if you are attending an event at the Cross center or Bass park. Although I don't give it 5 stars, 4 is an excellent rating for me. I'd highly recommend this hotel. My only complaint is that they share the parking lot with the restaurant, which gets very busy. Because of this, it can be tough for the hotel guests to find parking in the evening. They really need designated spaces only for hotel guest (in front of the hotel). read more

What a nice Residence Inn. I've been to many of these hotels around the country and I would have to say this one was a very pleasant experience. We arrived late at night and the front desk employees were very nice. We had an issue with our car starting after we checked in and so we had asked the front desk if they could call us once AAA came and showed up to our car. They pulled through and called out room once they did arrive so we didn't have to exist downstairs. The main lobby area is super big and nice. The rooms are also nice. Not the best but pretty decent with the Fridge and little cooking area. I wish they had free water bottles for us like most hotels have no a days but that's one of the very fee complaints I have. In the morning we left super early because we wanted to see the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain so we didn't make it in time for dinner but again, the guy at the front desk was rather nice. He asked us if we wanted a to go breakfast bag and gave us some fresh fruit, bagel and muffin. Everything went smoothly and the location of the hotel is around some restaurants so you don't need to travel too far. If you're a Marriott or SPG member, we got this hotel with pretty low points as well read more

This is a very nice clean hotel. The beds are comfortable and it has almost a full kitchen. My favorite thing about it is that it is very energy efficient you put your key into a slot that turns on the lights and you leave it in until you are ready to leave the room.
