Our stay at this 2010 built Ellsworth/Bar Harbor Hampton was for just one night Thursday June 24 for three people. Despite it being a weekday the bill was $343.35 as the tourist season had started. We had a rented a vehicle and the Bar Harbor Hampton was priced even higher than this one. We choose Hamptons because of the Hilton ownership oversight, although individually they are privately managed so quality will vary. We came from Minnesota an had just spent three nights at the Portland Downtown-Waterfront Hampton and were in Bar Harbor for a cruise and to check out Arcadia National Park. As it turns out we should have spent the three nights here and just one at the sketchy Portland Hampton. My girlfriend's daughter insists on separate beds for all of us. One great thing about Hamptons is that a rollaway bed added to a double queen room is not an issue, although the quality of the bed itself varies greatly by location. Here our requested rollaway was waiting for us with linens and pillows, and it was a decent one unlike the broken one we got in Portland that also didn't have a pillow or top sheet. My girlfriend actually commented on how nice the room was, a rare nod of approval as we are both a bit cynical. The thermostat had its own remote, the Hilton app actually worked on the TV if I remember right, there was an ice bucket and even a couple mini recycling bins. The view was just the local shopping mall, but that's not what we got the room for. One slight disappointment was being refused the token Hilton Silver Level membership benefit of free bottles of water on arrival. Maybe this isn't a 'select' Hampton. The workout room here was large and modern, unlike many Hampton workout rooms. The pool was also well kept. The normally no frills Hampton breakfast was way above par at this property. There was an abundance of choices and healthy options in bakery, hot and cold items, fresh fruit, toppings, and beverages. This included dairy free and gluten free options like Silk almond milk and Udi's gluten free muffins. See the image postings. This was an especially welcome sight after the sparse Portland Hampton breakfast bar of the previous three days. A surprising discovery I got on checking out the lobby after unpacking was the 'Iced Coffee Bar'. The receptionist told us they were the only Hampton to have one. It had a nice sign, coffee container, a dozen Monin syrups, creamer, ice bucket, cups, stir sticks, and napkins. See the image posting. My girlfriend and daughter planned to try it before we left early the next morning as I had understood from the receptionist it was available 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was taken down during breakfast. I'm not sure the girls even saw it. Other then missing out on the Iced Coffee Bar and not getting the token Hampton Silver Membership bottled water perk, this may have been our best Hampton stay of the dozen or so different Hampton properties we have tried. It should be the textbook model in management for other Hamptons to follow. read more

5/27/25-6/1/25 We chose Hampton Inn Ellsworth/Bar Harbor as it was midway between Bar Harbor and Bangor. This hotel looks like it was either newly built or was just refreshed. Our king room 301 was clean and spacious. Mera, Sarah, Sasha, Jay, Stewart and Valerie welcomed us and made us feel at home. Excellent service and hospitality 5 stars. Breakfast included, regular hotel style hot buffet. Definitely recommend when in the area. read more

Wondering why the hotel hires workers who don't know how to use the phone system. Called a woman answered (gave no name) asked to be connected to room number and guests name. On hold for 3 minutes she comes back and asks whose calling (sorry not her business but gave the info), she said ok and tried to transfer again. Not sure what was going on no music no nothing just completely silent only reason I knew I wasn't hung up on as the phone was still connected. I hung up called again, same woman answered again no name said it was a new phone system and was having trouble was on hold over 7 minutes and she hung up on me this time. Employee needs to be retrained so she knows how to work the equipement. Persons cell phone wasn't working and the reason calling the hotel directly. read more

This Hampton was our initial base for two nights of exploring Maine lighthouses. The property had plenty of parking and is located near shopping, a supermarket and restaurants*. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It faced the back of the property, so there was very little noise from the roadway or from any of the other guests. One or two slammed doors is all. Wifi worked well, there was enough on the television to keep my brother entertained while I did my laptop and the two queen beds were comfortable. His only complaint was the faint blinking light from the smoke detector which you'll only notice after your eyes have completely adapted to the darkness. Breakfast in the morning was the standard Hampton setup with the main difference being the COVID handling where you let the ladies behind the counter know what you want and they get it for you. Omelet, turkey sausages, hard boiled eggs, cereals, fruits, yogurts, all of that. The young lady who initially checked us in was not wearing her mask. Everyone else we encountered was wearing one. And while it is a Maine requirement that hotels check for your negative COVID test in the last 72 hours, no one asked us for ours. By the time we were planning our trip to Acadia National Park, all of the hotels in Bar Harbor were sold out. This turned out to be a blessing as we found the Hampton Inn and had a great, convenient stay. First, I appreciate all their covid guidelines and effort. The lobby constantly smelled like Clorox due to round the clock cleaning, and there were hand sanitizer dispensers available throughout the shared space. In addition, the rooms have a sealed sticker post-cleaning, so you know no one else has been in prior to your check-in. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful. Our double room has very spacious and clean, equipped with a microwave and a fairly large fridge for all our drinks. The hotel provided complimentary internet, parking and breakfast. It was a standard continental breakfast -- as there were often other guests eating, we just grabbed bananas on the go. There's also a public ice machine available. It's about 30 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia, but the drive is easy. Its also right across the street from a small shopping center if you need anything; shops include TJMaxx and Dairy Queen. Pretty newly built Hampton Inn and my choice of stay when we went to visit Acadia National Park. Not much to say about it - your room includes a microwave and a fridge. There was ample parking available and free breakfast for all guests. The free breakfast was similar to what is offered at most Hampton Inns. Room was clean and it was roughly a 30 minute drive to the park. There's also other things around the hotel - including a grocery store, a walgreens, and a L.L. Bean outlet. read more

We stayed here on a trip to Arcadia. I am a Diamond member with Hilton and stay at hotels a lot! This one I never want to stay at again. We booked a King room on an upper floor. When we got there at 4PM the room we got was 2 full beds on the first floor. The room was not up to the Hampton clean standards. The refridgerator leaked water. The bathroom had moldy grout. We were told they were sold out and there were no other options. There was no apology. I asked for a manager, they said they would let them know. I never heard from anyone. We left the following day, I called several times and left messages for the manager, I never got a return call. I ended up going to Hilton corporate. They contacted the hotel, but still I never heard a response. I followed up with Hilton Corporate a week later and they apologized and compensated 1/2 the room. Still no response from the hotel. I do NOT recommend this hotel. read more

We stayed here for one night for a weekend trip to Bar Harbor. It's about 30 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia State Park. It's a beautiful drive from the hotel to Bar Harbor so we didn't mind. The hotel is very nice, our room was super clean and modern. The bathroom was big with a shower that has two shower heads to choose from. They have a restaurant, bar and breakfast available. There is also a small pool & hot tub open until 10pm. This is not an ocean view type of hotel, as it's near shopping centers, but it is very comfortable and up to date. If you need a place to stay that's not far major attractions, I recommend the Hampton Inn. There are some cool things nearby on the way to Bar Harbor/Acadia, such as a wolf preserve, local restaurants/seafood and outdoor fun like mini golf/zip lines.. etc *** update. I am currently in a dispute between my credit card company and this hotel. They double charged me for one night two times. The hotel manager refused to refund me stating they only charged once. I called the credit card company to confirm that there was indeed was a double charge on two different dates! I have been temporarily credited to my credit card but it's currently under dispute. I'm very upset about this as we had a good experience here apart from this. I haven't yet changed my rating on this hotel, and I may do so, but be weary make sure that you check your card statement and save your receipts for proof! read more

She was very friendly and helpful. Especially, after a long travel. The rooms were also clean and quite comfortable. We stay at quite a few Hampton Inns and this one is very clean, warm pool and great hot tub. They have a hot breakfast with lots at choices. Room king bed large, comfortable and love the walk in shower. About 30 min from Bar Harbor. Location great many stores near by and restaurants. read more

The fire alarm has gone off 5 times since 4am, which apparently is ths 3rd night in a row. How this was not resolved after day 1 is beyond me, let alone the 4th time just today. We have a 15 month old. The cost of this hotel was over $500 and we have had the worst night of sleep during this entire trip. read more

Though my room was great and bed was comfortable. I do have two complaints. First off, an hour after check in, a housekeeper keyed into my room without so much as a knock. Thankfully I had deadbolted it. But I was midchange and very frustrated. She yelled sorry and moved onto the next room. It was clearly after the check in time.. second. When I went to shower that night, the first towel I grabbed had what looked to be dried blood on it and black hairs. Meaning either it wasn't cleaned or the person before me just put it back on the shelf and the housekeepers didn't think to check them. It is exactly what you expect from the Hilton Hampton product, but done with superior care and no disappointments. One of the nicer Hampton Inns they have. We stayed here while visiting Acadia National Park. It's a bit of a drive but, well worth staying here. The rooms are clean, fresh and large. One of the best things is they provide you with a clean bed cover each time the room changes occupants. So you know that someone else hasn't slept on your bed cover when you check in. The breakfast was fresh, plentiful and very good. There were three ladies that kept things moving and tables cleaned as there is always a crowd during tourist season. read more

After getting caught in a bad batch of rain on the bike, this place was a real sight for sore eyes! Our room was exceptionally large and beds were amazing. Bathroom was large and shower had plenty of pressure and heat. In the lobby they had free Chocolate chip cookies and hot coffee for the guests....never tasted so good! My gf and I stayed here while visiting Acadia National Park. The place had wonderful cookies and hot beverages around the clock, and the front desk staff were wonderful. The room, sheets and bathroom was clean. Free internet and parking. Room had a microwave and a decent sized fridge that worked well. Free breakfast which was not amazing, but had a solid selection (good waffles). Overall I had a wonderful stay and the people here were very accommodating. We'd left Quebec early in the morning with no destination other than to return to NJ via the Maine coastline. This sounded like fun until it started to get late. Searches on customary travel sites weren't successful - no same-day vacancies. Fearing a night in the car, we zeroed in on Ellsworth and located a Hampton Inn listing (known commodity). One phone call and a short conversation with Melissa saved our night. The Hampton Inn turned out to be a terrific find - friendly staff, very clean and comfortable accommodations, tasty buffet breakfast, ample parking - everything two tired travelers wanted. Stay here! Everything you'd ever want and/or need in a hotel room. Clean, decent sized rooms. Good location on the main road about 20 mins to Bar Harbor, a pharmacy sharing the same parking lot and a grocery store across the street. There's a smallish indoor pool and hot tub as well as a fitness room. We had a king room with a large walk-in shower. The bed was fairly comfortable, and the sheets/duvet were crisp and fresh. The complimentary cookies in the lobby were pretty good, as was the breakfast. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and super friendly. read more

Quiet and clean with large rooms. The bathroom was refreshingly large but there was no tub, just a large stall shower with sliding doors in our king room. Microwaves and decent sized refrigerators as well. Perfect location in the center of town, but still quiet! Check in was great and free cookies too. Breakfast is the usual stuff at a Hampton. Booth seating at breakfast is so soft, I sank in so far my feet were off of the ground. Looks comfortable, but sit at the high top or a conventional table. Nice place and very current, however I didn't like the flashing smoke detector directly above the bed. At nighttime when sleeping this gets very distracting and does wake you. Additionally I'm not sure why the 2nd floor hallway was so stuffy, as it didn't seem like hallway air was running. Stayed here on a weekend getaway with friends and absolutely loved it. Our room was spacious (made for great spontaneous dance parties when we were getting ready to go out to Acadia for the day). But the best part was the great service here. Everyone was very friendly. If they aim to make you at home with all the pictures and such (here is looking at you psychologists who plan all this out) they succeeded with Jill who serves and refills breakfast. She was lovely and sweet during breakfast, taking her time to say hello and check in on everyone. Thank you for making for a lovely weekend.
