This Hampton was our initial base for two nights of exploring Maine lighthouses. The property had plenty of parking and is located near shopping, a supermarket and restaurants*. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It faced the back of the property, so there was very little noise from the roadway or from any of the other guests. One or two slammed doors is all. Wifi worked well, there was enough on the television to keep my brother entertained while I did my laptop and the two queen beds were comfortable. His only complaint was the faint blinking light from the smoke detector which you'll only notice after your eyes have completely adapted to the darkness. Breakfast in the morning was the standard Hampton setup with the main difference being the COVID handling where you let the ladies behind the counter know what you want and they get it for you. Omelet, turkey sausages, hard boiled eggs, cereals, fruits, yogurts, all of that. The young lady who initially checked us in was not wearing her mask. Everyone else we encountered was wearing one. And while it is a Maine requirement that hotels check for your negative COVID test in the last 72 hours, no one asked us for ours. Though we were prepared! https://www.yelp.com/biz/starmed-family-and-urgent-care-charlotte?hrid=r8FZC-qTjMoB-dQjp2FW6w * Not much open late during offseason! Cleanliness and facilities were in very good condition. The location was ideal for heading down to Acadia for the day.

What a nice place. Folks friendly, room clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking. About 18 miles from Bar Harbor.

My husband and I are born/bred Mainers, looking forward to celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at the Inn. We read the policy and booked two evenings. However, on our way up, our car broke down and we had to head home, trauma in itself. I called right away to cancel and explain the circumstances to the owners and hoped to receive some other future booking there, rather than loose our cash. The unfortunate answer was no. They refused to make any refund or bend their policy in any way. My husband wrote a kindly email explaining our situation, once again, but never received a reply. We understand the need for policies and support that, but flexibility for certain unavoidable circumstances should, we believe, also be considered. Their lack of any empathy to our situation and uncouth, unpolished manners reflects very poor customer service and cancels any future wish to ever stay at the Blue Hill Inn. These innkeepers are clearly from away and do not, in any way, mirror REAL Maine hospitality! So, if you book there, you'll loose your money, if you have to suddenly cancel, even for an unexpected accident or God forbid a death!!

Generally, the world doesn't automatically think of people with mobility issues, but this place did. Otherwise, beautiful place with a lovely room. The room was clean, spacious, well appointed and was well lit with a nice window out front. Check-in was easy and the people who work there are very nice.
