We were only here for one night. The location is great. We had an early check-in and it went smoothly. It was within walking distance of a couple nice restaurants. And the room as well as the hotel seemed to be newer. The room we had had no sign of any wear and tear. We did have a small problem connecting to the Internet from our room. We called the front desk and the manager Michael came up to look at our problem. He fixed it immediately. We thought that was impressive that the manager was so involved that he physically came to the room. But that wasn't it. We didn't know that there weren't any ice machines on the property. We called down and the service desk lady said that they would be happy to send up a bucket of ice. When we checked out, Michael again was there and said he'd be happy to go into the kitchen and fill our Cooler. That kind of attention the detail is what makes Marriott our hotel of choice. read more

I've been coming here for the past 3 years because my son is attending UO. Conveniently located to Oakway Shopping Center, Autzen Stadium (in and out access is difficult during football season), The 105, downtown and not far from campus, this is an ideal spot to stay. Each unit has a small stovetop, full fridge and small kitchenette area--plenty of useable space. Daily breakfast is provided and offers a variety of hot items, cereal, make your own waffles, bakery items and the coffee is decent. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable, most bathrooms are modern (depending on room & floor). The front desk staff is helpful and friendly--big thanks to Michael, Manny, Noah, Kaitlyn, Colleen & Jessica for always recognizing and welcoming me each visit. It's great to come to a place where everybody knows your name! read more

stayed for a couples get away. dog friendly, but had to report some deficiencies. first, dog excrement everywhere outside. lots to avoid. probably had to do with the lack of attention they give to outside dog poo bag station. terrible and no bags! when I mentioned, they said we have three stations! "but they have no bags and the waste bin is overflowing" the FD employee (tall, thin, red headed man/woman?), was quick to add the adjacent apt complex residents walk their dogs on our property. well, pal you need to fix that, I said. maybe get them to issue a memo to residents instructing where they can exercise, but no on your property. seems like a professional excuse machine these days is taking over real responsibility. if I told you the ceiling was leaking in my room, would you say it rains a lot here? stupid. additionally had to report empty liquor bottles (with their boxes) left in the cabinets in the room. again the FD person responded with "which cabinet?" stupid. finally, had to report dog crap in the hallway. again, if you provided adequate accommodations (dog bags) maybe this would not be happening. just a thought. try harder. pay attention to your job. don't embarrass the hotel with stupid excuses. you patrons don't deserve your bad excuses for actual responsibility. BTW the bed was terrible. breakfast really low mid scale. after all this reported to the FD, I mentioned how they probably wanted to thank me with great appreciation that I wrote it down and reported all in person, instead of posting online. without eye contact, he said, "un huh..." really bad. you should say "absolutely!, let me offer an accommodation (discount) to your bill and we will hope to see you again soon, after we fix the issues noted." training here is non existent. read more

Clean, decent hotel - on the surface. But when you get to your room and find ONLY cold water, no soap, no coffee - then tell the front desk and they say "we'll get someone to your room" - but that never happens, so you have 2 days of cold, soapless showers and can't seem to get a cup of crappy hotel coffee...you say No Way! (And I'm a Platinum Bonvoy member, so status doesn't help). Choose a different hotel. read more

We just spent five days at the residence Inn by Marriott in Springfield, Oregon, and just want to add that it was a delightful visit. It was set across from the Willamette river, and it was a beautiful setting. The breakfast every morning was delicious, and the rooms were very comfortable. The front desk people were great. Not wretched but not great. The building is clean. Confusing layout, minimal signage. Nice location-- you can walk to restaurants and shops, notably the delightful 5th Street Market. Cheap finishes and construction at the hotel. Staff pleasant and friendly but not always knowledgeable or bright. Free breakfast seems the cheapest, poorest quality-- not worth eating. HVAC unit in the room is hideously noisy. I hardly slept. Couch in sitting area is harder and less comfortable than a coach airline seat. Serviceable small kitchen is welcome. Lighting is poor. Drawers are harder to pull out. Basically cheap construction throughout. Also , we got no maid service and were not told this would be the case. read more

Micheal was professional, kind and went above and beyond for our entire stay, including leaving a cute get well note. Brandon checked in with us and they both helped us tremendously. The Residence Inn is a good hotel; it has everything you need for a getaway: comfortable bed, TV, pool, and breakfast. With COVID-19, they've had to modify a couple of their policies. Breakfast: instead of offering the standard continental breakfast, guests submit an order the day before using a checklist of food items (bagels, English muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, cereal, milk, and juice are a few items on the menu). In the morning, you pick up your order from the front desk. Pool: To prevent the spread of COVID, guests can reserve time slots at the pool and have it all to themselves. read more

Decent stay for an overnight on a road trip. We stopped here on our way to Seattle. We stayed in the 2 room suite. Each room was separated by the full kitchen/living room. Each bedroom had a queen bed with its own private bathroom and door. The couch in the living room was a pull out bed as well. Plenty of space for a family or anyone really. Onsite the officer daily breakfast (pastries, eggs,sausage, bacon, bagels, oatmeal, make your own waffle station, fresh fruit, yogurt and toppings for the yogurt such as dried fruit, sugar, etc). There is plenty of on-site parking, a basketball court, and a place to lock away your bicycle. read more

Booked a two bedroom, two bath suite with just a couple hours notice via the Marriott app. Quite convenient and easily done, which was great for this traveling family of five. We requested a rollaway bed and found it in the room when we arrived. The check-in process was quick and efficient, completed by a very friendly and personable young man. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a nice sized kitchen, which we won't be using (we are here for just one night), but no doubt is oh so useful for those with a longer stay. We booked the two room suite during our stay during COVID-19. I had read somewhere that Mariott properties would seal the doors after cleaning but we didn't find that here. The phones and remotes were wrapped in plastic as mentioned. Overall, we had a comfortable stay. Guests are required to wear masks in the hall but there are some who roam the halls without one. People were generally good about masks, only a few didn't wear them. We were in the suites by the bridge and road so we did get a lot of noise from nearby traffic. We were only staying one night on our way down to San Francisco so we didn't mind too much. We also brought our dog and paid the 75 dollar pet charge. We found the location convenient. The hotel is close to a large park so we were able to give our dog a good walk before hitting the road. Turn in your breakfast order forms before 9pm for breakfast to go. We forgot to turn ours in but we had a lot of food with us already, so we didn't mind. read more

This was a delightful stay. I am not a brand loyalist but am a Marriott club member and this hotel over-performs for the brand in my opinion, serving as a shining example of what a residence inn can be when run right. The people working here are professional and friendly and try to give you what you want. Since I was staying 4 nights I was glad they gave me a top floor room away from the noise of the surrounding parking lot. The bed was very comfortable, the black out drapes helped me sleep past sunrise, there was a bathtub (increasingly a rarity in newer hotels) in my room, and everything went just as it should (also a rarity in chain hotels in my experience as a frequent traveler). This place is centrally located in Eugene for sports attendance, running on the nearby Pre's trail, or visiting the U of O (which is what I was doing). I could walk to the library from this place every day which I loved doing. It is also right by the river and you can take river walks very easily. Finally, it is recently renovated. Ignore old reviews that say it needs a refresh. It just had one! It's great. I have stayed at all the fancier hotels in town and next time I am coming back here. read more

This is a Marriott, what can I say. Stopped here on a trip from Cali to WA. The rooms were nice & very well maintained. There was an outside- jacuzzi, swimming pool, fire pit, and basketball court. The breakfast was normal fair with scrambled eggs, cereal, and waffles. Staff were great and friendly. Arrived around 11pm, and there was parking still available - that was a score. Easy on/off the freeway (although a couple of miles from highway 5. Also, google maps, and Apple maps made it a lot more complicated than need be. read more

This is the best Residence Inn I have been in. Not because of the location (which is primo) or rooms (which have been updated) or breakfast (which is improved) but because of the staff. I have written the same accolades to the GM Colleen on prior visits. The staff, ALL of the staff, are exceptional. Michael the front office manager, Adam always with a smile and knows your name and all of the desk staff are really relaxed and friendly. Not the rehearsed scripted friendly but genuinely kind and accommodating. Where else do guests get to know even the housekeeping staff like Lane and David. The others as well who I didn't get their names. You judge a organization based on your experience with the least effective personal. This property doesn't have one. All with whom you interact are competent, friendly and a joy. I'm not sure how Colleen has been able to establish such a great staff in these difficult times. I'm always on the road which can be rough but I always look forward to my stays at the Eugene Residence Inn. They go above and beyond. read more

8/13/22 We stayed for the first time at the Residence Inn Eugene Springfield, a Marriott company property. We were here for several evenings. I'm writing to compliment the hotel and especially the front desk manager, Michael Roussel. He has been personable, kind and professional at every turn of our encounters. I've seen how he treats his guests at the front desk counter and in his exchanges as he walks in the dining area to answer questions or take care of issues. Michael Roussel could not do enough for us. He helped us at check in with a room that would not work for us (construction noise directly overhead) and went out of his way for me when I had questions about how to find something in the area. There were other helpful exchanges. We have traveled quite a bit and most often we stay at Marriott properties. The Residence Inn / long stay properties are great for families or for those who wish a kitchen and living room and just a bit more room. This property is fortunate to have such an invested, caring and professional employee as Mr. Roussel. Well done. read more

The rooms are great! Seriously. Love this layout. And a decent amount of coffee to start the day. The couch and bed are all comfy as all get out. And as usual there are TVs that you can login to your Netflix account and keep watching. But as the afternoon turned to night, more people are using the internet and watching Hulu it will pause for 15 seconds and play for 15 seconds. Yes. I times it. Horrendous signal. Yes. I turned it off and back on again. For internet on your computer there is a free version with low bandwidth and a $7 a day version for streaming. I didn't expect this to impact the tv. The tv played great at 1530 hours. It played terribly so at 2100 hours. I also just put in an order with Uber to deliver a goat and virgin to see if perhaps a ritual sacrifice will help speed up things. I'm hopeful. The fan has a constant setting, which helps to go to sleep. If you're a light sleeper, ask to be away from the east side as this is the one next to the road going uphill to the bridge. Lots of people gunning their engines for speed. Lots of noise. Going to use earplugs and fan to sleep. Every time i stay in Eugene I pick this place. Aside from lousy internet tv, and road noise, I love it here. Staff are great. read more

Upon arrival, I was greeted by two very friendly and helpful front desk agents. Checking in was a breeze, and within 5 minutes I was inside of my room and unpacking. This is a pet-friendly hotel, but it doesn't reek of animals. However, there doesn't appear to be a designated area for excrement, so pet owners were allowing their animals to do their business in the parking lot. Can't fault the hotel for the lack of couth in pet owners, though. The rooms are clean and have brand new furniture. I loved the large, comfy couches! The beds and the mattresses were better than other Marriott hotels' beds as well (newer?) At first appearance, the rooms appeared borderline classy! I was impressed! Until... Night fell... and as I lay my head on my pillow, my experience started to take a left turn. A strong smoke odor began wafting into my bathroom area and it didn't take long to figure out the person above me was smoking and the smoke was pouring through the vents. I attempted to cover it, but to no avail. So, I opened a window and let the 40° air inside; It helped. Just as I felt my eye lids getting heavy again, a parade of elephants decided to play tag up and down the stairs alongside my room. (Note: By "elephants," I mean someone's unsupervised, fast-food-devouring, Ritalin-popping, bastard kids.) Once their sugar comas set in and the noise died down, I began drifting off to sleep yet again, only to be jolted awake by a jet engine taking off in my ear. (Note: By "jet engine," I mean heater... The noisiest flipping heating unit in the history of mankind. Seriously.) I finally gave up on sleep and went to the gym at 4am. Ugh. I was out of toilet paper anyway, so I thought I'd work out then grab some from the front desk. ... Whoa. Did I step into the maintenance closet? If it wasn't for the mirrored wall (to make the room feel larger), this "gym" could easily be mistaken for a storage locker. The huge mirror, bare walls and sad equipment gave it more of a haunted house vibe. It felt unnatural and scary to work out in such cramped quarters without a window or some sort of ventilation. Crammed into approximately 70 sq ft of "gym" are 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike, & 1 sad little stack of free weights, a fan, and a fit ball (which couldn't be used if someone else was in there); Smallest and most uncomfortable gym I've ever seen at a hotel, but the equipment was clean and functioning, and the towels were plentifully stocked. The gym is a major travel consideration for me, but I realize it doesn't matter to most people, so I'm not going to dock any stars based on my personal preferences not being met. I apparently also uncovered a mysterious toilet paper shortage in this hotel. Before I started working out, I let the front desk know that both the gym bathroom and the two rooms I booked were in desperate need of toilet paper. Two hours later, the roll holders were still empty. I notified the front desk a second time and was handed a roll that was 3/4 gone. The desk agent was very kind and apologetic.... But, really? Overall, the hotel is clean and the staff is focused on providing excellent customer service. Were it not for the noise, I would've probably had better than a 2.5 stars, "okay" experience. I'd stay here again, but I'd bring ear plugs and request not to be in a room near any of the stairwells. Clean and friendly trump almost everything else for this weary traveler :) Note: This hotel is not walking-friendly to area restaurants and downtown, even though the distance on GPS makes it appear as though it would be. The location and surrounding roads turn a 1 mile walk into a 2-4 mile drive to most food and entertainment destinations. read more

Saved our Thanksgiving Dinner experience!! The rooms and hallways are clean and spacious. The beds are very comfortable. Loved the full kitchen. Its very homey which is our goal when visiting our son. He used the exercise room which is small but had just what he needed. I am A traveling medical professional and had been staying at Residence Inn in Eugene. I had been there for more than three months and planned on staying another three months or longer as my company needed me to continue working in Eugene. I went down to extend for three more months and they told me I couldn't because the next weekend they had a University of Oregon football game and that they could get double the price for my room. I told them that I wanted to stay for three more months and they said they needed me to leave because they could get more that weekend. So I moved and stayed at a competitors place and i am still there and will be here for another 4-5 months. Residence Inn is supposed to be for people who will be staying for extended periods of time yet I was asked to leave so they could make 400 dollars for a two night weekend end stay. As a result they gave away my guaranteed $5000+ a month for 4-6 more months to make $800. Very strange business model. It is a nice facility but Please. read more

Super friendly and attentive front desk staff. I checked in this afternoon and enjoyed chatting with them for a few minutes. The hotel is recently renovated and it makes a big positive difference in my mind. I have stayed at a few other RI properties on this trip that seem outdated so it's a nice change. They have a cool happy hour with snacks/food which is included in your rate. I was pleased to have a cold beer and a nice bratwurst a short walk down the hall from my room rather than needing to go out to a restaurant for something to eat. All in all, it's a great property- especially if you are visiting the campus! read more

Great location, nice clean hotel, efficient staff, good breakfast that changes a little day to day (important to me) and a comfortable gym. My room was on the first floor and my view was a little fenced in area surrounded by trees so I didn't have that first floor exposed feeling. I could tell the difference between the week day and weekend housecleaning because during the week everything was picture perfect. The weekend must be the B team because they didn't empty trash or replace the coffee, nothing tragic just a nit. The only thing that drove me crazy was a low hanging pendant light over the kitchen table; I bet I bumped my head on that thing at least once a day! read more

This place is very near my brother-in-law's house, which is why we stayed here on his recommendation. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and I have no complaints. I like that they allow pets, even though I was not traveling with a pet myself. The breakfast in the morning is complimentary, but average. The waffles and sausage are good. By far, the best Residence Inn experience I've had to date. I travel a lot lot lot, and I stay at Marriott's Residence Inn quite frequently. I have to say that this location is my favorite yet! The staff is incredible! Upon arrival, I mentioned bicycling and the gentleman at the front desk gave me a card to a gentleman who rents out bikes! Now I have a bike to cruise on and enjoy for the week! I guess every Monday and Tuesday they have a "social hour", where they have snacks and beer and wine complimentary. I ate my share of hummus and veggies, accompanied by a nice IPA! This was such a great surprise after spending the entire day on a plane! My room is beautiful! I know it's just a hotel, but the feeling you get when you walk in such a welcoming hotel, and then get to your room and find a nice open space, couch, kitchen and a nice big bed. It turns the stresses of travel and being away from your family off. I want to say thank you to the team at this Residence Inn, for being so great and making me feel so welcome! read more

To my surprise I received a call from the front desk and Amy had called management and informed them that I as a retired Vietnam veteran deserved a discount in price. God bless Amy, she literally cut the price 50%. In my entire life I have never been treated so well. Outstanding people in particular Amy. We had a two bed two bath and it looked like our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom at home. It's like roommate style where each bedroom had a bathroom and the living room had more than enough space. Rooms were very clean and updated. Would def recommend and stay again. Also affordable and very close to U of O if that's the reason for your trip you are in a win/win situation by staying here!!! I'm giving my stay here five stars because, despite the fact that they were still under minor construction to remodel the hotel, our stay here was phenomenal. All of our needs were met and their new interior designs and remodeling is gorgeous and super modern (currently the rooms look way more up to date than the photos provided). Though the breakfast in the morning is mediocre, it's still there, and so is a complimentary dinner, wine and beer during the evenings. Full washing machine and dryer on every floor and the front desk gave us detergent for free! The kitchenettes in the rooms have full appliances (stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, sink, fridge) and the cabinets are stocked with cooking/eating utensils, dishes, pots and pans. Sleepless night. Stayed here twice. Both times bad. The rooms are nicely furnished but the walls are paper thin. You can her the guy upstairs peeing. All the bathroom vents are connected so you smell your neighbor too. Usually it smells like poop, other times it is smoke. Also this motel is sandwitched between the highway and railroad tracks. Bad management. Both of my stays the housekeeping knocks on every door at 8 am, even with the "Do Not Bother" tag on the door. They laughed. Tiny breakfast. Leather and porridge. Got to stay in this Residence Inn by the Marriott. For the good, the customer service all around was super friendly. Cocktails available at night with simple snacks if you have packages waiting for you they have them waiting for you. Parking is pretty easy around the whole property. As for the thing that might be improved a bit would be that the rooms are somewhat current from 10-15 years ago and would be nice if they had a refresh. Over I was happy with location. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights with our daughter and her two children. Two bedrooms, a pull out couch. Full kitchen, with a full stove. I have absolutely no complaints. Everyone was kind and helpful. Everything was clean. Breakfast was ample, and on time. Housekeepers were great. Its a perfect place to settle for a family visit. I might even make tamales in there next year!! The location was convenient for us as it was near everything we needed to see or do. As always, I think places like this should invest in good nonstick pots and pans but other than that I have no problems with this place. read more

I'm a recent convert from Hilton Rewards and I have to say that the Marriott properties I've been staying at have been fantastic. In comparison to other RI I've stayed at in the past, this one is pretty standard. I do have to mention how comfortable the beds are though! I sometimes worry when I stay in hotels that the bed can't hold a candle to the Tempurpedic I have at home but I practically melted the moment I slid into the bed. It was that comfy. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff was helpful. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that there's not many places I noticed within walking distance to grab food or drink. Eugene is a fairly small town so that isn't really a problem but it's always nice to be able to stroll to restaurants and shops. read more

As is typical with Residence Inn, every room's a suite with a kitchenette, dining table, and living area. This makes it a lot more livable with 2 or more people. The outdoor pool area was nice and relaxing. The location is good, though study your map in advance to avoid driving in circles. (Hint: from I-5, take I-105 to Coburg Road and turn into the parking lot for the "Lane" building. Drive around the back of the building to the Residence Inn.) read more

BEST PLACE TO STAY IN EUGENE!!!! We've stayed here numerous times since our daughter is a student at UofO. The suites are nice and roomy, although they have a queen size and not a king size bed. Very clean!!! Breakfast is good and just right. The staff is fabulous and very friendly. They allow pets but do charge a rather steep one time rate of $75 per stay (La Quinta across the street only charges $20 for a pet . . . but the hotel is not as nice and costs more). Our only disappointment is when they are booked and we can't stay there! All in all, a great place and a great deal!! read more
