I booked for a Studio, One Queen, Sofa Bed, but I got upgraded(?) to a 2 Bedroom Suite, Bedroom 1: One Queen Bedroom 2: One Queen, Sofa Bed, Fireplace. This 2 Bedroom Suite was too big for just myself. Only was able to utilize very limited amount of space the suite offered. But I enjoyed the stay and I really like when the complimentary breakfast offers oat milk as one of the options on top of orange juice, apple juice and 2% milk. read more

Amazing! Where else can you get a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with full kitchen and living area with fireplace and free hot breakfast at a good rate? Nowhere! We got 2 of these and the Harris sisters are so happy! The 4 of us met in our hometown of Macon and discovered this gem so we could each have our own everything, and our 2 suites were across the hall from each other. Very clean! Staff great! Horrible! I drove 6 hours, thinking I would get a nice hotel where I can relax, work and maybe even take a dip in the pool, and I got this. For starters, the place smelled like hallway near the elevator smelled like old urine. The elevator itself was very rickety and weird. Our room was dirty and dusty. Had to call maintenance to clean it. We also got 2 queen beds and a sofa bed in our room. When I was making the reservation, I specifically asked for their to be 3 beds and a sofa bed because we are traveling with a handicap person who has to sleep alone. On top of that, the queen beds were small. Breakfast was okay, lots of bagels, muffins, waffles and other stuff. Even though breakfast was okay, there is no way I am staying here even again! read more

A very nice place to stay in Macon, Georgia This hotel is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of I-75 and Arkwright road. Arkwright road has several convenient locations to eat and get gas but is conveniently away from the downtown hustle and bustle of downtown. It is a residence Inn hotel. This is a chain of hotels that, as of 2021, had 874 hotels in the US, Canada, and Mexico of various sizes and designs. This chain is part of the Marriot chain that started in 1975 and is designed for extended stay hotels. Some locations are multi-building affairs and some are single buildings. This Residence Inn is a single building. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very pleasant. There is a breakfast bar right inside the entrance and across from the check-in counter. They have keycards for the room locks. The room was a very nice studio-type apartment with a kitchen, living room, and a bedroom with an ensuite. We tried the breakfast bar and it was very nice with fruit, yogurt, eggs, toast, and bagels. It was very nice. The location was clean and well kept and the cost was reasonable. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay that I would recommend to any traveler in the area. read more

The front desk staff was very friendly, the room was clean, well-lit although it has an older feel and needs some updating, especially the front door which doesn't open automatically. The front desk attendant kindly came to hold it for us with all our stuff, but that shouldn't be her job. I really like the large bath counter area separate from the shower/toilet. I did appreciate having bar soap (dispenser was also available) and there were actually some extra places to hang towels----my pet peeve is when hotels want you to reuse towels/washcloths but then have only one hook for 3-4 items! read more

Most likely the worst Marriott bed we've slept on. It was an old cheap mattress which rolled us into the middle. When I pulled the cover back the bed sheets were not pulled up and it looked like the bed had not been changed or made up properly from the last guest. Upon checkout the maintenance guy was nearby and had to check us out. read more

What a nice surprise! First, let me thank some of the great staff, especially Sheila and Gretchen at the front desk, and Melinda and Kim in the lounge (am & pm, respectively). An earlier reviewer said how everyone made him feel like family, and I felt it as well. That said...what a great property! Loved having a suite with a full kitchen (small, but complete - even a dishwasher and a full-size refrig). I went to the nearby Kroger, less than a mile away on Tom Hill Sr. Blvd, and stocked up...and I was happy to find they had just added a new wing with a large natural food section, deli, sushi, and more. Pretty exciting for this California girl! Back to the hotel: the lounge was GREAT! Breakfast was plentiful - so much tasty food to choose from. Some days there were premade breakfast sandwiches. The wafflemaker was cool and I was pleased to see yogurt parfaits too. I ate dinner there most nights and it was surprisingly good as well. Self serve beer and wine too. Wow! I didn't use the exercise room or pool but it was nice to have them there. LOVED the fire pit in the side courtyard: one morning it was about 40 degrees but sunny so I went out there to read for awhile. Very nice! Bottom line: this is a great place to stay. We knew this place was undergoing renovations, but decided to accept a certain amt of chaos & noise & dust & inconvenience and booked 2 nights. The location is conveniently located about 10 short minutes out of downtown Macon. Our check-in went very quickly as we had checked in online using the Marriott app on our phone. The rooms were spacious, clean, and ideally located at the end of the hall a way from the elevator. Everything was fine. Then we heard the banging. We expected there would be some noise. But not at 6pm on a Friday night. For about 45 minutes we were accosted with loud banging above us: we were given a 2nd floor room, and according to a sign in the elevator, the 3rd floor was being renovated. Finally around 7pm the crew must have decided to call it a day and go home. Thank you. Complimentary hot breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, several different toast-it-yourself bread options including bagels & English muffins, a few cold cereal options, hot oatmeal, and a few apples. Not to nit-pick, but bananas always go well as a breakfast option for their healthy grab-n-go feature. Both evenings when we returned to the hotel, a trashy dented-up old car packed to the roof inside with trash & clothes & debris leaving only a small area carved out for a driver was parked directly in the front of the only entrance to the lobby and the elevators. The parking lot is long & narrow, and this trash-heap vehicle was simply left right in the middle of the only access driveway. Notwithstanding the inconvenience to the folks staying in the hotel being unable to freely access their personal vehicle, if there had been an emergency vehicle needed, there's no way they could've gotten by this dangerous & inconsiderate junk-heap in blocking the only access to the entrance. Can you say hoarder? Turns out, this trash heap belongs to an older, unshaven, unkempt hotel nighttime clerk who is allegedly stationed at the front desk. We noticed both nights we came back to the hotel that he spends all night across the hall from the front desk, sitting in the dark, watching tv, so our mentioning the potential danger of him leaving his car in the middle of the only accessible driveway was totally ignored. Very eerie. Creepy. Just odd. Wonder if the owner or GM of this hotel is aware of the huge safety hazard being created each night by this sloth? Another couple coming in at the same time as us noticed the same problems, and made the same remarks. Somebody in a position of authority needs to rectify this dangerous situation ASAP. Good luck with that: we won't be back due to the huge risk created by this imbecile. read more

This is probably the worst inn I have ever had the displeasure of walking into. Not only were both the front desk and customer service unhelpful, they were rude to match. We called ahead asking that the pull out sofa be made since we were arriving late. Of course they didn't do that. When we asked them for bedding for the sofa bed, they handed us a pillow with no cover and a blanket. The blanket looked used and it wasn't even folded, when asked for a clean blanket did not provide one. When we finally cobbled together a sofa bed, we realized that opening the sofa bed cuts us off from the rest of the room, which Im not even sure is legal due to fire hazards. Over all I wouldn't ever come back here and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Find pretty much any other place. read more

Not the worst hotel, but not great. Unfortunately does not compare favorably to other Residence Inn's that I have stayed in. The staff was very nice but there were some issues with my stay. I would give the staff 4 stars, but the quality of the rooms and breakfast get 2 stars. Hence, the 3-star or average rating. The room was a typical RI room. However, there were what appeared to be a few upkeep issues. The bathroom smelled very bad throughout my stay, and it was designed so that you could not close the door without hitting the toilet first. There were no batteries in the remotes, which is a small thing that makes a difference. I personally did not see them, I heard that there may have been roaches in the hallway. Finally, the breakfast buffet was not good. I don't expect a 5-star meal, but what I do expect is the basics to be "ok".....sausage that is still not partially frozen and if that if the waffle maker is broken, that they notify guests. The coffee was also out and not refilled within a timely manor. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION!! worse experience. Was sent there for training. very nice suite. private property. i woke up the next morning to my vehicle being vandalized. there were several others as well. no one notified anyone. I even went to the front desk that morning to get another key(locked mine in the room.) no one said anything. went outside and found a letter from the hotel and a brochure from Bibb Co. police department with a case number. the letter apologized and said to come in and do a report. well that didn't happen. And when I contacted corporate they denied my claim. I contacted the to get the reason they said, you park at you own risk. only protect what's inside the hotel. I was furious. my windows (2)were busted glove box broke personal laptop taken. NO CONCERN FROM THE STAFF OR MARRIOTT CORPORATE. Other guests said it's happened before they put security for a week and the next visit no security. read more

If zero stars were option that's what I would rate this awful hotel. Run don't walk from this hotel, right across the street to the new, clean and friendly service Home 2 Suites by Hilton. This Residence Inn was dirty, it smelled like old rotten food and the service is the worst. They don't care if you are loyal to Marriott or not. The general manager Jim'le Chatman was extremely rude, condesending, and discriminatory. He was dressed in street clothes, with a hot pink tshirt on. I had no idea he even worked there. He didn't have a name tag and was wearing a tshirt. He lacked any type of service or just even common courtesy. Do not waste a dime here. The rates are better at Home 2 Suites by Hilton and the pet fee is only $75. And the service blows the Marriott out of the water. read more

Nicest people in town! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Everyone made me feel like family and actually cared about me. I loved coming through the door and being met by those great smiles! The only downside was there was only 2 2washers and 2 dryers and the were very old and prone to not working when I needed them. My experience with the Residence Inn Marriott Macon GA. 9/14/2020-9/17/2020 was absolutely unacceprable. First on the morning of 9/15/2020 breakfast consisted of inside a brown paper bag was a miniature muffin and a very small Quaker granola bar. On the counter was two very black rotten bananas and a bowl of green oranges. The assistant manager stated she was sorry but the truck had not come in and they were short staffed and she did not have time over the weekend to go to the store and purchase any yogurt or fresh fruit. Age also stated she would order me some points to make up for the breakfast. Fast forward on that same day I pulled the closet door closed which consists of two mirrors. I noticed that one of the mirrors had a crack at the bottom. I immediately went to the front desk to inform the attendant of the mirror. I told him that it was not an emergency and that I did not want anyone entering my room to replace the mirror until after I checked out. I also told him that I pushed the door back and I could no longer see the mirror or the crack. He stated he would make a note of it for them to not enter my room until after I checked out. I informed them of this because Residence Inn Marriott Macon Ga. adds an incidental fee to your bill and I did not want to be charged for something that was present on arrival. Upon entering my room on the afternoon of 9/16/2020, the lights were on in the living room and the bathroom. I noticed that the closet doors(mirrors)were removed. I immediately went to the front desk and asked why did someone enter my room without my knowledge after I specifically requested no entry into my room. The same attendant stated he told them I didn't want anyone to go in my room. As I was walking back to my room I met the maintenance guy in the hall he asked if everything was ok and I explained to him what happened. He stated that he was the one who removed the closet door at my request. I asked him why would I request for my privacy to be invaded. He stated he was sorry but they put a work order in for the closet door. I stated to him he removed the doors but did not replace it, what was the big emergency. I spoke to the Manager the morning of 9/17/2020. She said she was sorry and stated she would give me some points to make up for my invasion of privacy. All of my personal items were visible. I asked her why wasn't I notified of someone entering my room so that I could have prepared and put away my personal belongings. She had no response. I cleaned and sanitized my room upon arrive to my satisfaction and had to clean and sanitize after the invasion of my privacy. Prior to COVID this hotel was my hotel of choice while in Macon on business. I do understand that COVID has brought on a lot of changes but customer service should never be compromised. I was offered the excuse of they're sorry but they're so short staffed now, we are all short staffed. I travel weekly for my occupation and I will never ever stay at the Residence Inn Marriott Macon GA and I will inform my family, co-workers and friends of the absolute terrible experience from my recent stay. I would not want anyone to go through what I went through. Your dignity is something that cannot be bought with 9999 points. I do have a choice as to which hotel I stay. I choose not to stay at Residence Inn Marriott Macon Ga. I would give no star but I had to rate one to post review. read more

Roaches! the front desk check in upon arrival was great (the man checking us in, I can't remember his name, was friendly and helpful) unfortunately it took a turn for the worst fast. carpet was coming up, cabinet doors wouldn't close, just not up to standards but we could deal with it until we saw roaches. That for me is the end of the story!! I can deal with a lot of things, roaches I cannot. when calling to complain, the lady that answered the phone did not seem surprised and was not apologetic. Sad for a Marriott property, I travel extensively and this was a complete disappointment. Fairly nice Marriott that was undergoing some construction at the time of my visit. My room was nice, the staff were polite, the pool was tiny and the hot tub wasn't working. The breakfast was pretty good but not much variety. I stay at a lot of Residence Inn's and this one met expectations but wasn't the best I've visited. Lots of restaurants in the area if you can get through the road construction. read more
