We are beyond frustrated with how we were treated regarding our stay and cancellation. On Tuesday evening, May 5th, we went directly to the front desk IN PERSON to cancel the final night of our reservation for May 7th. We spoke with Megan, who told us the cancellation had been "released on their end" and specifically instructed us to contact Hotels.com for the refund because the hotel had already handled their side. Now Hotels.com is claiming the hotel NEVER canceled the reservation, and when we called the hotel back, we were told there are "no notes in the system" and apparently no record of the conversation at all. Trying to resolve this with Hotels.com and the hotel has been a nightmare. Multiple calls, being transferred around, language barriers making communication extremely difficult, endless "so sorry for bad experience" responses, yet absolutely NO actual help or accountability from either side. The hotel says it wasn't canceled, Hotels.com says the hotel never notified them, and meanwhile the customer gets stuck paying for a room they canceled TWO DAYS EARLY in person. Beyond the cancellation issue, the stay itself was not pleasant. The beds were hard as a rock and incredibly uncomfortable. The bathroom was so tiny you could practically touch the door while sitting on the toilet. You had to walk to another building entirely just to get breakfast. To top it off, the toilet clogged during our stay and nobody could even bring a plunger until the next morning. Overall this was an extremely frustrating experience from start to finish, with poor communication, poor customer service, and zero accountability. We absolutely would not stay here again and would strongly recommend others think twice before booking here, especially through Hotels.com. read more

This hotel is so reasonably priced that we were almost afraid to even try it. But because it's a Best Western we decided to give it a try because we stay at best westerns a lot. This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazingly kind and friendly. If it was warmer right now. We would've enjoyed that pool area back there that has been so well taken care of. The breakfast was amazing. So much variety so well stocked, and the woman that took care of that whole area was great. The rooms were comfortable. The beds were amazing. The water pressure was really really good. Even the towels were thick and nice. 4 pillows on each bed!!!! Yes!!!!There wasn't a thing that I would change about this experience except for may be the weather. If you're looking for a clean and safe and reasonably priced for an amazing value, this is the place to go. Well done. read more

It's dated but clean. The outside could use a coat of paint but the room looked updated. Convenient to interstate and downtown. The beds were fine but the ventilation system is noisy. Well, this is a 3 star hotel with 5 star employees and staff so it got 4 stars. It was clean but very dated. Kinda noisy w highway nearby and ventilation system. Stayed here 1 night on our way home from vacation. Room was clean and a nice size. Our toilet was leaking, but we checked in late and were tired. We just threw some towels on the floor and went to bed. I'm sure if we'd said anything they would have been very helpful and accommodating. The morning breakfast was phenomenal. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, several juice choices, and of course coffee and tea. The woman working the room was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. It is too early in the year for the pool to be open as it is an outdoor pool but the courtyard and pool area looked very nice. They also have an area to workout. As I said, we got in really late so we didn't use this area. However, it looked clean and had several different pieces of equipment to get a nice workout in We would stay here again. read more

There are several hotels in the area, but this one is the best value. We only needed a room for the night, so we weren't particular, but we didnt want a flea motel either. The Best Western Riverside Inn was perfect and suited all our needs just fine. Clean rooms and friendly staff. No unsavory characters; we felt safe at all times. Upon checking in I was greeted by the front desk employee who spoke very little English. I did my best to use the few mandarin words I knew but somehow ended up ordering a family sized take out of general tso chicken. After getting my key, I walked up the stairs and was impressed by the cigarette scented aroma hovering through the hallway. As I jumped from one bed to another I was shocked with how springy they were. Reminded me of the mattress I lived on under the south fair bank bridge. I tossed and turned during the night trying to contain my excitement for the continental breakfast. In doing so my sheets came loose and that's when I saw it. A massive circular stain in a yellowish color. "Was it me?" I was perplexed. But my underwear was dry. I quickly covered it back up with the beautiful Egyptian cotton sheets and went back to sleep. My fridge was hot and my microwave was cold. For breakfast I heated up a bowl of oatmeal in the fridge. The TP was thin but not too rough. The soaps were made in Canada with Argan oil. I was only in town for one night.... I was running late to attend a wedding. I pulled back my bed sheet to find a small dead roach. I informed the front office... they gave me a choice of changing hotels or changing rooms. Since I was already running late I changed rooms. The next morning as I was preparing to leave to my surprise I saw another live roach this time scurry across the table. That's one night two rooms, two roaches. I also informed the front office about this incident as well. I did not bother to eat any food from their continental breakfast... I just got the heck out of there. You have been warned! read more

If your looking for somewhere clean and inexpensive to lay your head at for a night or two this hotel will definitely do. I mean It's no Four Seasons but you get what you pay for. My overall experience here was average. The front desk staff were very sweet and provided a excellent customer service experience for me. The room was nice and clean and super neat. I was actually surprised! I really didnt expect the hotel to be so nice on the inside since the outside looked like something out of a scary movie, but never judge a book by its cover. The hotel also has a pool.. Which i didnt really get a chance to check out but looking out the window it looked pretty nice. My only complaints would be i got stuck in a room where the AC didnt work that well so that definitely was in issue and also the smell of lingering smoke.. We saw the 3.8 stars and didn't bother to read the reviews. After a long day of driving we checked in. Should have known better when I saw all the utility and other work trucks in the parking lot. They tend to not put their employees in the nicest places. Entered our room and we're greeted with a moldy musty smell. It was hot so I thought maybe it would go away if we turned the air on, which did help. Room looked decent. Newer beds and carpet , but the bathroom. YUCK. Shower looked marginal but I was hot, sweaty and tired. When I went to turn it off the tile literally fell off the wall. Looked under the soap dish and it was black. The worst bathroom I have ever paid to use. I wish zero stars was an option read more

Even for a hotel of this caliber when we walked in from a 14 hours of driving we thought "pew" this is not all that great. On the bright side there are many choices to eat or drink within a very short drive and even walk. If you can stay at one of the other hotels off the frontage road around here please do. Worst hotel I've ever been to. We checked in at about 11pm on a Wednesday night and it went smoothly. The lobby area was nice, must be in the middle of remoddeling, since there were paint buckets under the end tables. The room...okay, well...let's say there were large amounts off bugs coming at us on the way to it. We parked in the back, as instructed from the night desk agent. After dodging those and getting in, we entered the room and the beds look very new. Was glad...then walked into the bathroom...there was a 2-3" cockroach on the sink. I have NEVER seen a bug that big. It crawled into the sink overflow. I stuffed it with plastic, hoping it wouldn't come out. And kept the bathroom door closed all night. After a loooong night of worrying about the giant roach, we headed down to breakfast, which was microwaved food and some "fresh" store danishes. Not sure why I ate anything, but hey, it was free. I paid for it that afternoon...thank God there was a bathroom nearby. Will NEVER stay at a Best Western again. read more

My Mother in law and I stayed here while my Father in law was in the hospital. We only intended to be here 1 night, but ended up staying for 9 days. The ladies at the front desk were kind, patient and caring, the rooms were clean and the staff was always friendly. We were most impressed by Francis, who greeted us each morning to help us with the free, hot breakfast. She offered assistance to my mom each morning, asked about my father in law and prayed for him. She was a beautiful beginning to each day and we treasured her kindness. Many thanks to the entire staff for their hospitality during this difficult time. read more

Upon entering the lobby of this hotel there was an overwhelming odor that was poorly covered by copius amounts of Lysol spray, only adding to the smell. I will say that the woman running the front desk was friendly, when she got there, but a young boy (after he noticed I was there) had to run and retrieve her. After checking in my boyfriend and I went to go to our room. After walking past an out of order vending machine and up glitter covered stairs we reached our door. Standing outside our door in the hall we could hear the squeak of our neighbors box spring, and another neighbor laughing, as well as televisions and other miscellaneous and concerning noises. On top of all that, the mystery smell from earlier seemed to only intensify in this area because the veil of Lysol spray was absent. Needless to say we did not stay here. I was told that a manager would contact me within the next few days to discuss my refund (because he was conveniently out of town) but have yet to hear from him. Front Lobby has a grant Piano, white staircase, flat screen tv brand new looking, but when you get into the room it's bad. Not very clean, old furniture, no central air but a very loud in the wall air conditioner, musty smelling and no fan in the shower the place needs a lot of maintenance. The receptionist was very unfriendly no hello or welcome she acted like she is doing me a favor that I am staying there. The night before I made the reservation the girl was very nice, she had put me on hold for a while helping someone in the lobby and when she found out I am traveling with a pet she said I wave the pet fee for your wait. During check-in the girl said she forgot to charge you for the pet fee, and I told her what happened and all she said was she was not authorized to make that decision, I paid $50 pet fee no problem but before she handed me the room key, she firmly said absolutely no Pets in the lobby. If I had not been on the road for 7 hours I would have left then, she was the rudest person I ever encountered. read more

After traveling all day Saturday Memorial Day weekend we could not find any vacancy In Georgia until Macon. We were able to get 2 adjoining rooms for $69 each. They were clean and had free breakfast. We did I not get a chance to use the pool as we were passing through. We would stay here again for the value and cleanliness.the breakfast was ok. Best part were the fresh waffles. Smokey rooms in the non smoking rooms, Worst hotel ever. I had reserved a room online hours before arriving. When I go to check in the guy in the front told a different couple that the computers were down and no one could check in. I told him I had previously already had been charged on my cc since reserving ahead of time. Magically computers worked and he gave us a "non" smoking room... I had 2 children with me and the room smelled like cigarettes. So I go to the front desk and he huffed and said yea.. I told him room smelled like cigarettes, can I get another non smoking room I have 2 kids. He gave me another room 2 doors down from where I was... yep smelled like smoke. I had to drag 2 kids 3 and 5 from one end of the hotel to the front 2 times. So I called Expedia where I rented the room from, he lies to the lady about his name and says refund me... this is now at 3am... so I have to drive and find another hotel! I failed to check Yelp before booking this hotel- as I texted my bff: situated lovingly on a freeway access road, this franchise location stands out amongst the car dealerships for the attached carpeted bar complete with stripper pole and hand drawn "ca$h only" sign taped to the door. The hallway smelled of old smoke that no cleaning product could exorcise from the carpet, and someone smoking nearby or just outside my window (?) meant the room reeked of smoke when I emerged from my shower. The staff was friendly and the rooms were otherwise clean but I would take a hard pass unless easy freeway proximity is imperative. read more

We used this hotel as a resting place on our trip to Florida. It was anything but restful. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 10:30. There was no parking to be found because there is a nightclub/bar attached to the hotel. The room was dirty, the hallways were dimly lit and smelled of smoke. Music from the bar could be heard until all hours of the night. We received no rest and could not get out fast enough. As we were checking out, other families were at the front desk complaining. Management gave us 30% off of our bill which is nothing compared to losing a night of sleep. Corporate offered 5,000 reward points which translates into a minimum off our next Best Western stay. This will be useless as we will never stay at a Best Western again. read more

I read the reviews and it seemed like it would be worth a stay since I was only in town one night. The lobby is so dated that it is cool. The room seemed clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit too soft for me. It was the carpet looked ok but there was something about it that just didn't feel clean. The staff was inconsistent. The woman who checked me in was indifferent and busy kiki-ing with her friend to give me her full attention. The front desk sounded inconvenienced when I called to get the wifi code. Compared to similar hotels, the morning breakfast was significantly better. Most seem to have gone to microwaved frozen eggs but BW still served fresh scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and more. Good coffee too. Now, what was bothersome was that the non-smoking floor smelled of smoke. Both in the hall and in the room. My guess is the upper floor is still smoking and it comes in through the vents. read more

I only give them three stars because of an employee, Michael who was not professional. We found him in the club next door after waiting over 30 mins to check in and there was people waiting longer. Also, the hotel only has two older people providing room service for the entire hotel. Therefore, the customer must get their room serviced while room service is "on your side of the hotel." I guess you can say that's a lesson we learned Saturday night after coming in from a funeral. We checked in Friday, but our room didn't get touch until Sunday. Even though we made a request at the front desk as we were heading out at noon on Saturday. After talking to Benita (very nice woman), her and the manager accommodated us fairly. This is an old hotel. It does not shine at all. However, our seem to be room updated. The hotel is connected to lounge, which is nice if you want to have a little fun, they also provide free breakfast, and parking. The area is MACON so just take that into consideration. read more

After our party reserved two rooms and received confirmation emails we were told on arrival that one room had been given away due to our card being declined. (There was no hard copy evidence of this and we went down the road to a more expensive hotel and had no trouble with our card. And after checking online there was a pre-authorization hold for the room on our card.) The staff was moderately helpful in finding us another room but only after being asked to and of the two numbers given to us for other hotels they had called only one was a working number.
