But I felt that the staff was always kind, friendly, and understanding. Volunteers who came to clean the common areas were pleasant and polite. When I needed help with trivial things like keeping the door open or for toiletries supplies, the staff and volunteers are resourceful and always ready to help. Kitchen and common areas were clean. Other patrons were also kind and respectful. I enjoyed my stay here even if other things outside of these doors were stressful. Thank you for your help and support.

They didn't have no hot water or heater and they didn't fix it until 2 weeks later. They didn't charge us for 2 weeks since there wasn't not heat or hot water. They fixed everybody heaters and hot water, but ours. Our hot water was working but not the heater and it's raining so much and it's so cold in there, they asked for money and we told them why do we have to pay if the heater doesn't work and to go check it out for themselves it's like a ac in there and they said ok and then they called the cops on us when they said they were gonna send somebody to look at the heater and then the front office said oh everybody heaters work I need money now and we paid them and then 2 minutes later they came to the door with the police again and said here take ur money back the staff doesn't want u guys here too many complaints but we've never interacted with the staff or anybody , most of the time we be at the hospital with our son. We asked what they said and they said oh we don't know and they kicked us out like some dogs in the rain. So unprofessional please don't go here it's not worth $50 a day . Bugs all over the kitchen , front desk people always sleeping and not doing there job . Every room has twin beds and a small tv that doesnt work . No hot water or heater. Very rude. Very unprofessional. Don't waste ur money here.

You go up the steam boat which is very cool to me and the view of the water and the Ziggurat building in the back. If you sit outside on the deck you can see all this and the sunset behind the famous yellow Sacramento bridge. On this day we even saw sea lions lounging and one swimming around. It was January so it's cold and breezy, so make sure you dress accordingly . Our waitress was funny but it took a long time to get service. Inside the little bar area was full and so we had to go outside. We found out no actual meal until 5pm only apps and drinks. The drinks honestly were ok as well as the appetizers so that made us decide to go elsewhere for dinner. Its a touristy spot with its charm just not great food or drinks. Service is slow. They are also a hotel but we only had drinks. You gotta walk and park in nearby garages as the area is always super busy and very little parking on the street.

I normally give a Holiday Inn Express a **** rating. Other than a nice comfortable bed and a…read moreworking air conditioner there was not much positive that I can write about the hotel. 1. It is difficult to get to because there is no direct access from Del Paso Road. You need to drive to E Commerce Way and drive through a row of restaurants and other hotels to find this hotel. There appears to be sufficient parking; however, if you have an EV, the charging spaces are very poorly marked. 2. They will not accept Apple Master Card. That forced me to use another credit card. In my opinion this is unacceptable. 3. The soap dispensing rack in the shower was broken. That required that you hold the rack together to make the dispenser work. 4. The automatic light switch the the bathroom turned off the light while I was in the shower. I had to put my arm out of the shower and wave it to make the light go back on. 5. The "complementary breakfast" is a misnomer. The cost of the breakfast is embedded in the price of the hotel room. You pay for it even if you do not eat there. This leads to some minimal expectations as to the quality and quantity of the food. I took the last egg white omelette. It was ok if you smothered it in salsa. The bacon was a pile of overly greasy bacon chunks. Breakfast potatoes were passable with enough ketchup. There were only five servings of Chobani Greek Yogurt in the refrigerator. On the bight side there were plenty of Holiday Inn Express Cinnamon Rolls; however, at 400 calories per roll, you should not eat more than one. BTW, I did not see anyone tending to the breakfast area. 6. The final insult was that television set was tuned to the self admitted faux news channel the talking head was spouting a xenophobic rant to its base. Please, if the hotel is unable to turn the TV to a local station, like KCRA; just turn the idiot box off.

The server told us they operate out of a food truck. So the menu is limited. But what they make is really good! We ordered the lemonade, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the strawberry champagne sherbet. Service was very prompt! The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

They comped the meal, and we didn't ask for it; we only wanted to split the check, which was a policy that was never discussed, but their system could do it. So they decided to comp the check, given the many issues. Then the manager calls me after we leave, leaves a message, and says, very passively aggressive, "We comped your meal, but you did not leave the server a tip." Servers live off tips. But don't worry, we took care of her tip. Have a good day." Umm, excuse me? I was a server for over 7 years. First of all, I wouldn't expect a tip after the establishment that failed me by not ensuring they had adequate kitchen supplies to keep a Mother's Day up and running. Additionally, I would have added more staff to the day, which would of course be very busy. And lastly, how are we tipped when you comped the bill and walked away, and nobody had cash? We did not ask for the bill to be comped. So for future reference, dear John I don't recommend calling your customers and bullying them over voicemail. You're the problem, not us.

It was a small room but worked for me. It was clean and the bed was comfy. I was fortunate in that the temperature that night was 57 degrees and 88 degrees during the day. I was told that in previous days, the temperature during the day reached 107! The room did have a little fan. The shared bathroom and showers were clean. I met a few foreign visitors in the kitchen. One young female was working on her computer in one of the common rooms. Other than seeing 2-3 other guests, I pretty much had the whole place to myself. It was really neat wandering around to look at all the stuff in the place. At 10 pm., everything gets quiet. Even the music from the nearby festival went quiet. I walked about 8 minutes to a Thai restaurant, called Hiso, which had great food. There are homeless people in the vicinity. I felt safe as the walk took me past some really expensive homes. Lots of people were out walking their dogs. Just be aware of your surroundings. I decided to walk across the street from a spot where some homeless person had set up a tent. I also watched out for people on scooters and bicycles. Parking is available within a gated enclosure by the alley and next to the hostel. That greatly gave me some peace of mind. The young man at the front desk was helpful and professional. Two items of note: 1) you need to remove the bedsheets and pillow cases and deposit them into the baskets by the front desk. Not a big deal to do. 2) you do need to climb stairs to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Not a hassle unless you are older and/or have mobility issues. Or if you have heavy luggage to haul up. Overall, it was a good experience. I would definitely come stay here again. I'm glad I tried this hostel out. Oh, when I read up on the building, I found out that it was a funeral home at one time. I didn't get any creepy vibes. I zonked out and had a good night's rest.
