This hotel was conveniently located near the city and the Metlife stadium. Just what we needed! Check in was easy/quick. Hotel staff were friendly. This hotel was modern, clean and the best complimentary breakfast I have ever seen at a hotel! More offering than any other establishment! The bed was spacious and I can tell you my boyfriend wasn't feeling well and he had a good nights sleep on this bed! Next to a shopping plaza and the movies. Also, 2 store fronts out the back door (left) and you are inside a Dunkin Donuts! Only thing... the showers are very modern with no glass door- water spilled everywhere! Also, if you are hungry don't stop into Houlihan's right outside the back door. (Just say no!) read more

Did the Trick The hotel is nice and seems very new. We had a one bedroom suite and appreciated that the rooms were totally separate. While in the living room, my wife heard a lot of hall noise late at night. I heard nothing in the bedroom. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. The living/kitchen area is not huge but plenty big enough for two people. The couch was comfortable. Again, the bedroom is not huge but more than enough room for the two of us. The king size bed took up a lot of space. The fitness center had nice equipment and plenty of fresh water. The temperature was pretty warm and lowering the thermostat did not help. This seems to be the case in most hotels. The breakfast was wonderful. The ladies working the breakfast were really nice and helpful. They kept refilling the buffet and asking if anyone needed anything. Thanks I would stay here again in a heartbeat read more

Don't brother staying at this hotel pretty UNSANITARY and doesn't want to fix the issue, will not take responsibility of the health hazard they provide their guests! Refusing to refund for cancellation/change in reservation is one thing, but to have your guest stay in a biohazard room that ends up giving them a rash is UNACCEPTABLE and saying we are responsible for the situation for not reporting sooner is asinine! read more

Great place to stay with quick access to NYC and MetLife Stadium. We love the location as there is a movie theater and plenty of eateries you walk to right out the door of hotel. Parking is free! You can hop a bus to NYC and leaving the driving to someone else! Bus stop is around the corner. Or Uber! As a family of 5, we need 2 things when we travel: free breakfast and 2 bedroom suites. We love Residence Inn because having a mini kitchen is a great bonus. Hotel is very clean and modern. Beds are very comfy. Has a pool although it's super tiny. If there's more than 2 families in there it's too crowded. Decent workout room. Breakfast buffet is great but the small room it's in gets crazy crowded and hard to move in. Do yourself a favor..don't wait for the last hour to get breakfast, because the line backs up all the way into the lobby. 2 bedroom suite offers plenty of room with a nice sitting area off the kitchen, and each bedroom has its OWN bathroom! That's a sweet suite! Only knock on the bathroom is the shower. I'm not a fan of clear glass as I like the privacy of frosted glass better, but that's just my preference. What baffled me is not having a door to close the shower in. So the opening to get in is super wide and stays open while you shower. So now the bathroom floor is all wet. Sure it looks pretty, but it's not really practical. Overall it's a great place to stay. read more

We've stayed in this plaza before but this is a new Residence Inn. It's in a great area. The room was clean, staff was nice. I took 1 star off for the tiny pool that looks huge on the hotel website. This is a great area to stay in if you are visiting NYC. There is a Transit Bus stop in the plaza with service almost all day. You can be in the city within 30 minutes unless it's rush hour! There is also a ferry service a short drive away. And free parking! Inside the plaza are restaraunts, a Duniin and a Starbucks, a bank and a nearby movie theater. I checked in online and gave an arrival time of 2. We actually arrived at about noon & our room was ready. As we are Elite members, our 1 bedroom suite was upgraded to a 2 bedroom. The extra room and extra bathroom was really nice after a full day of navigating the city. Apple Watch told me it was a 10 mile day! We'd definitely stay here again in the future! read more

This hotel has it all: great customer service, clean rooms, nice breakfast, free parking, bus stop just a block away (to take you downtown Manhattan for less than $4.00) and great location! I have been staying at many hotels and I tend to be very picky but I can't find any bad thing about this hotel. We were greeted in a professional manner, the room was beautiful and clean, there was even small kitchen, including big fridge and freezer. Very close to hotel you can find different restaurants and Walmart. Or you can leave your grocery shopping list with the front desk. It is a nightmare to go downtown Manhattan by car - it may take more than an hour and you will be paying $14 for the toll and then $20-$30 for parking. Just a block away there is a bus stop and the bus you will get downtown for only $3.75. (Be sure not to leave at rush hour, we took the bus around 11am and it took about 20-25 minutes.) Effortless check in and out. (They have an app) The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was like a studio apartment with a full refrigerator, stovetop, microwave and sink. They have a nice outside patio area to eat your buffet style breakfast. The only thing negative I can say was the pool could have been bigger and cleaner with some windows to the outside. We will be back again but without our bathing suits. read more

We visited 6 months to the day after this location had opened. The property was certainly clean and everything felt very new. However, there were still some residual signs of a newly opened hotel i.e. tape on the ceiling near the air vents in the lobby and a handle missing from a drawer in our room. Little things that will be fixed soon I imagine. Overall everyone was very kind and wished us well as we were coming and going. My small gripe here is that two evenings in a row, we were told that we looked "tired" as we passed the front desk after spending all day in the city. While we were certainly exhausted, that's not always the kindest greeting to offer. The room was pleasant though when using the pull out sofa it actually becomes somewhat difficult for two people to maneuver. The bathroom has TONS of space and I loved the shower. We didn't use any of the kitchen area but it was nice to have it available. Breakfast was pretty blah each day and almost brought the rating down to 3 stars. The buffet area doesn't seem proportional to the number of rooms in the hotel and the gracious seating area in the lobby. It was very crowded all three mornings we were there and the women were having trouble keeping hot and cold food in stock. Despite all that, the location was fantastic and it was easy to come and go from the city. I would definitely stay at this Residence Inn in the future. read more

We had a wonderful time. We were in town for an expo at the nearby convention center, and Residence Inn was the perfect jump off point. First off, they are pet-friendly; which is always our first consideration when looking for hotels. There is $100 pet fee for a week's stay, maximum of two pets per room. That is very reasonable, considering other hotels charge a higher fee per pet, per day! Secondly, free parking, unlike the exorbitant parking rates of hotels in NYC. The room we stayed in was spacious and well-appointed, TV, big refrigerator, two-burner convection stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kitchen utensils, silverware, a few pots and pans, and dishwasher. It was basically a small, cozy apartment away from home. The bathroom was also big without that unnecessary bathtub. Breakfast was good, not great, but definitely much better than some of the hotel breakfasts I've seen. If you don't like hotel breakfast spreads, then there are many restaurants right outside you can go to. There's a walkable Sam's Club and Walmart if you feel like preparing your own breakfast, of if you need any groceries. If none of the establishments are to your liking, then Washington St., Hoboken is a mere 20-minute drive or Uber ride; there you get a wide assortment of bars and restaurants. Like I said earlier, Residence Inn is a perfect jump off point. There are buses to NYC, lots of Uber and Lyft, and it's easy enough to get around if you prefer to drive. It's actually more sensible to book here if you're planning a trip to NYC. read more

Expect at least one thing to be broken in whatever room you end up in. I've had to stayed here a couple time over the past year for business (this is the best option of only bad choices in Secaucus) so I have lots of experience with this hotel. As noted in other reviews - poor water pressure and the showers do not have full doors - so stay here if you like water all over the floor and cold drafts while attempting to shower. The A/C unit is connected to a infrared/motion sensor in the ceiling which will automatically turn the A/C off if you leave the room like a normal person does during the day. So if you come back at night and expect it to be nice and cold for bedtime - think again as it will be 75 degrees in your room. Room appears clean at first, but there will be dirt/dust built up in the corners and tops of furniture everywhere. The "fitness center" is pathetic. One of the two 25 pound weights has been missing since July 2018 when I first reported it to the front desk. Just checked again in December 2018 and yep - still not there. One treadmill is always broken and they will never fix it. read more

The front desk was very nice and the breakfast is good. What make it more nice it's just walking distance to all the restaurant and shopping center. Really liked this hotel!! Comfortable, clean, and great breakfast! It was right across the street from the bus stop, which made it very easy to get into NYC. My nephew really enjoyed the indoor pool. The exercise room looked very nice. This is totally worth five stars in my book. However.... When we arrived, there was a front desk clerk (perhaps a manager? I'm not sure) standing next to the front desk offering cookies to guests. He offered one to my nephew. My nephew politely declined the cookie. The man asked again, nephew declined. The man asked me, I thanked him but declined. The man then PUT A COOKIE IN MY NEPHEW'S HAND and made my nephew take a cookie! What if my nephew had food allergies? This is a very real possibility these days. It is NOT OK to give children food when both they and their guardians say no. We called him "the cookie man" for the rest of our trip. One star off because of the cookie man. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel. read more

The first time that I ever stayed here was actually election night we were across the way at all the hands and my friend had a room here while we were watching the election I was sitting there in the tram pattern and write one we saw everything turning read it was last call any turned off the TV as we were freaking out of course and paying our bills We ran back to the hotel into my friend sweet and we watch the remainder of the collection from this room I did spend the night because we had had a lot to drink and we celebrated even more when Trump one it's funny how every time I look at this place when I am in Seacaucus Plaza at the movie theatre or one of the restaurants I will for ever remember this Hotel as the place where I found out that Donald Trump became president crazy I didn't stick around for breakfast but rooms were clean spacious and nicely decorated if you are on business this is the perfect place it's filled with business people and walking distance of about 10 restaurants and bars and a movie theatre and shopping there is the Starbucks across the street and you can jump on a bus to New York City this is an ideal place if you are travelling for business in Jersey or nyc read more

We've been here twice already, very convenient staying here with a toddler because the room comes with a mini kitchen with all amenities included. Room is clean and neat, bed & pillows are very comfy. We all had a well rested sleep. Staff are very accommodating, breakfast is good, and parking space is not much of a hassle plus it's free. There are a lot of hotels in this area and I rely with Yelp reviews making a decision which is the best hotel for me & my family to stay. No regrets staying here that's why we always keep coming back. Room may be a bit pricey but it's worth it. Highly recommended. read more

I enjoyed my stay! At first I was kind of upset that I didn't book it in downtown New York but I'm actually glad I didn't. There's a ny bus that takes you to Times Square so no need to pay extra for parking fees. Parking is free at the hotel so that's a plus and there's dining options waking distance from the hotel which made the experience even better! So clean, and quiet and FREE parking! I usually stay at residence inns because I like having a kitchen as an option when I'm traveling for work for extended time periods. This one did not disappoint. I think this Hotel gets worse every time I visit. Our first time was really nice, the room the location and also the service of the staff. But as I visited here over the summer, there were problems, like A/C being out, elevator not working. Room service skipping our room 2 days in row. When I called for the service at the front desk, they asked what do I need get done? Are you kidding me I am in the room with my kids, 2 days of take-out food, garbage, dirty towels after swimming, bed made, vacuum etc. And when I listed those things they said OH! so you want the full room service. I was irritated, so I picked up everything garbage, dirty towels and threw it in the hallway. When cleaning lady comes in, she's like what do you need done? I told her I put the garbage out, if you have time, please vacuum, make bed and freshen the towels, same response comes out of her, oh you want the whole room done. Now was I fuming, so I told her don't worry, just take care of things in the hallway. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is for the Morning breakfast staff, they are the friendliest ladies and always willing to get you whatever you need. read more

These guys are total JERKS. I am slated to check-in tomorrow and I made my reservation over 3-weeks ago. I even confirmed my reservation via the BonVoy App w/in the 24-hour window. But, because I was using a discounted rate and these guys are not part of corporate but rather a Franchise they cancelled my reservation without cause. I called them w/in minutes of getting the cancellation email and they pointed out a useless technicality why they cancelled it and now won't honor my rate. I checked online and rooms are available but the manager Ariel Velasquez said that he doesn't see any availability in the system but if I see availability on Marriotts website that I should book it at the normal rate. Ridiculous. My family and I are coming into the city in 14-hours and this is ridiculous. read more

This is the place to stay when visiting New York City. The location of this hotel is surrounded by resteraunts and shops. There is even a movie theater across the way. The rooms are clean and always ready when you check in. The front desk staff are friendly and are always there to help with anything. If you're heading into the city, leave your car at the hotel and get on the bus right outside the hotel. It cost $8.50 round trip. You get dropped off at the Port Authority. How convient is that. Want to relax in the evening, the hotel offers a swimming pool that is maintained in a clean manner. They have laundry facilities in the hotel that are also clean and convenient. Breakfast in the morning is a hot breakfast that is included with your stay. Why stay in the city when you can stay here. Reasonably priced and centrally located. Check it out. read more

I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with the service that the hotel is providing for me at the moment as I've checked into the hotel about two hours ago (10pm). My husband and I always book this particular Residence Inn whenever we are visiting NYC due to the fabulous condition of the rooms and the excellent customer service that they've provided for us. We even stayed here last weekend when my husband and I were visiting the city...and even upgraded us to a suite. I am now back this weekend as I am in the mist of visiting the city with my mom & brother. When entering the floor, I noticed that we were assigned to a room that was close to the elevator. I've specifically requested that I didn't want a room close to the elevator; however, this request was disregarded. I decided to not make a big deal out of it...until we came to our assigned room and realized that there were a couple of things that needed to be addressed which prompted me the make my first call to the front desk. I requested for additional blanket as my brother was going to spend the night on the soft bed and saw that the one inside the closet had strand of hair on it. As we were in the mist of waiting for the extra blanket, we turned on the TV only to notice that the sound was not working. My brother worked on trying to get the sound to work, only to realize that remote controller did not match the brand/manufacturer of the TV. Even when my brother attempted to get the sound to work using the controller from the rear of the TV, we both came to realize that the speakers were the problem. At this point (now with over 30 minutes past since I've last contacted the front desk...), I've decided to go downstairs to the front desk to address the matter. No one was by the front desk and had to wait for about five minutes until finally the lady whom I spoke with over the phone came from behind. I could clearly tell that she was annoyed to see me by her tone of voice and the way she asked about my problems. I tried to hold composure as I explained to her about the TV and how I still did not receive the extra comforter I requested. I even told her that I wasn't trying to be a bi*** about the whole matter, but with us being a loyal customers to this specific Residence Inn, and with my husband being a Marriott Rewards Member this was not acceptable. She told me that she was the only one working with no manager on site, and that eventually the problem will get resolved by a different clerk as she was clocking out. She said she'll tell someone my issues and told me to go back to my room. It is now over an hour and half since I've checked into this hotel and I have yet to receive the blanket that I've requested... nor had the TV sound resolved. I ended up calling the front desk again only to hear that the housekeeping went to a different room with my blanket, and that someone was going to bring it up soon. No apologies. Nothing. I've officially received a stained blanket and the exact same remote controller around 11:30pm. This is the far worst experience I've had at any hotels that I've stayed (I travel at least 5-8 times a year) and will be formally filing a complaint to Marriott corporate as well as contacting the GM about the service that I've received tonight. I don't know if I was poorly treated tonight because I wasn't with my husband, the Marriott Rewards Member, but regardless of all this, the way my family and I were treated tonight is unacceptable--especially if I'm paying $200 a night. read more

We typically stay at RI's when we travel and this is one of the better ones due to its location and cleanliness. The only gripe I have is the pool is a bit small. We usually stay in NYC when we come up, but tried this location so the kids could swim. Catching the bus to NYC is actually better than paying for the daily parking at a NYC hotel. It's quick to catch the bus and get into the city. Pay less, catch the bus and still enjoy the city. read more

First time staying on JERSEY side for visiting NYC. Finding and paying for parking in NYC can be a headache, this was a great option. A short bus ride (if you beat traffic/busy periods; otherwise it's a real long bus ride!). The rooms were clean, quiet. Horrible views in some of the rooms. Pool is okay. THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD AND STEAL YOUR LUGGAGE. If I could give zero stars... yes my review will start like this. The hotel is clean and the location is fabulous! I had no issues with the hotel and was excited to have found a nice, affordable hotel that is close to the city and easy access ($4 bus bus fair about 30 steps away) Then I checked out and the horror started. I went with my 3 children and accidentally left a small bag inside the room. I arrived home at 515pm and called instantly. I was informed they are charging me $349 plus tax for the room because I left the bag inside. Instantly I called my bank and put a stop on the card, however over the night they attempted to charge my card a total of 8 times. Since they had gotten pre approval they did end up charging me $434. My bank reversed the charges with no issues but having that issue was not needed. I was then told I would never get my bag back because they don't ship or label anything and I'd need to send a courier service to do anything. Ended up sending UPS as a courier however UPS never picked up the bag because when they tried, they were told the bag is gone. Luckily only thing in the luggage was a few items of clothing and an electric tooth brush however I had one very special dress and (cheap) item of jewelry (went to see Be More Chill with my daughter and my late husband had gotten this necklace for me and my daughter before he passed away, either way, I understand I left the bag and thats on me, but) I've emailed and called the hotel and manager several times always sent to the "manager" voice mail never a call back, never a return email. The employees are super rude and when I first checked in I asked for the zip code so I could get some groceries delivered and the clerk told me she has no idea what the zip code was and I could google it LOL True, I can, but I was just making conversation. Knowing the zip code of the place you work doesn't seem like something you'd have to go out of your way to do. I asked about bus/taxi/uber service into the city for the next day and she told me she doesn't know she just moved here and started working a few days before. I should have known then that something was going to go wrong because when your hotel is so close to the city I'm sure that is a question that has been asked before? I couldn't have been the only person to have asked for transport service into the city? All in all I am actually very sad because the hotel is in a great location and its very clean I have plans to return several times this summer to New York for various events and now I have to find a different place to stay. Love this place. Good customer service. I love that the rooms have a kitchen with a stove, fridge, and dishwasher. There's a laundry room on the bottom floor next to the indoor pool. There's also complimentary breakfast every morning from 6-9am or 7-10am. It is also located in a shopping center so there's a ton of things to do, restaurants to choose from, and a movie theater next door. Walmart and Sam's Club is walking distance from the hotel. Although the hotel is about a 20 minute bus ride to the city, it's a nice getaway from the crowd and traffic. We took the bus daily to the city. Bus stop is a walk behind hotel and costs $8.50 round trip. Nice place and definitely safe. Would recommend and stay again! read more

We stayed 5 nights for an extended vacation to the area. The hotel is great, clean. Every employee spoke when we saw them- nice! Always a hello or good morning. They all seemed to enjoy being there. We requested rooms next to each other, but none were ready when we got there, so we waited. The room is nice- only 2 complaints. The shower is open, so I was cold on one side and warm on the other, there was no working vent fan in the bathroom. Second, the room was cleaned well the first two days, the on Saturday and Sunday it was questionable. We asked for extra towels, they only give you three sets. The first two times they remembered. The next two nights we got big towels only- like really? Restaurants in walking distance, wish there was a drugstore or grocery closer. Don't waste your time eating at the chain places, bad service. Must have car to get around. Movies across the street. I will stay here again. read more

Unfortunately my experience at the Residence Inn was not what I expected. First off, I booked my stay well in advance, as well as informing the employee booking my stay that I needed the earliest check in time due to my traveling out of the state. I was told that it would be no problem. I call the week prior to my check in date to verify that everything was okay in terms of the date I was checking in as well as the time. My check in date was correct, but an early check in was not possible according to the receptionist. I was told, "I don't know why they would tell you that you can check in early". Prior to my arrival date, the receptionist told me to call the day before and I would get the early check in I wanted. So, I call the day before and I was told I could check in early. I arrive at my check in time and I get told that no rooms were available for 4 hrs. I was not a happy customer at all, and in order to get the proper customer service I had to request to speak with the manager on duty. Within a matter of 5 minutes after requesting to speak with a manager, I was told that a room was available. Working in retail, an employee should do everything they possible can to meet the customers need, especially one traveling far away and paying tons of money for just one night! My needs were not met and I sure didn't feel valued as a customer. Highly doubt I would be staying at Residence Inn again simply because of the customer service.
