My mother specifically told an attendant to be sure and place a mattress next to the bed when she left for the day. They did not. My father had numerous lacerations on his head and leg. Then when it was time for a refund for days not used due to his death; we had to make 4 phone calls over 8 weeks, plus threaten them with a lawyer to get our refund.

Better than our UW hospital experience by a long shot! I heard they changed ownership in past couple of years. Anyway, the Nurse Practitioner, nurses and CNAs have all been wonderful and caring. It's a little bit outdated inside but it's very clean and the care is wonderful, so who cares? In addition, they cook their food from scratch (recipes apparently come from corporate) and my Mom loves the food. They also did very well on their last state audit. They were extraordinarily knowledgeable about things I needed help with, some of which I didn't even realize I had problems with. I am in much better shape after seeing them than I would have been, Be aware though, it is 3 hours a day of sometimes hard work, and its 6 days a week. The nursing and support staff were with rare exceptions very good to excellent. I was a difficult patient, even so, they treated me with kindness and respect as they laid down the law. Over time it appeared to me that the nurses and support staff needed more help. I'm no expert and no one ever said anything remotely close to the floor needing more staff. I may be thinking incorrectly since I was on the bone marrow transplant floor at the UW Hospital where you are almost swarmed by nurses at times. I have had a lot of experience with hospital food lately. (I have been in either St. Mary's or UW Hospital for 2+ months recently. BTW, from my perspective the food at St. Mary's was very good.) The food at the Rehab Hospital, by my simple standards, was good to very good. They achieved this by having a very limited menu. Speaking of limited menus, while I was at the rehab hospital the TV menu of stations was like nothing I had seen before. Let's just say the big dogs in the world of station numbering got no respect. With no obvious logic to the TV menu, it was hard to find stations. Also, the menu was on plain paper and easy to destroy or lose. If you are a liberal this may bother you. While the selection of cable news networks included Fox News, it did not include MSNBC. I questioned how that could be and received no response. I did eventually learn that listening to TV's while walking the halls indicated that many people were watching FOX News, Finally, you should be aware that the UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital is owned in its entirety by, and its employees are employees of, Kindred Healthcare. Kindred is [from their wesite] "the largest diversified provider of post-acute care services in the world ... with more than 102000 employees." As I said above I was happy with the service that I received (even during a, not discussed, period of ruptured pipes). I hope this helps you to make your own decisions.

Years ago a loved one was in the skilled nursing section of Capitol Lakes. I was struggling to…read morelower him into his wheelchair while a nursing assistant who was in the room did not lift a finger to help me. He slid to the floor. Another time I visited and my loved one was sitting in his wheelchair in a puddle of pee which had pooled on the floor. Another time I was berated by a staff member because she couldn't find his shoes, which were in his closet, like I told her. I also got accused of stealing food from the kitchen, which turned out to be unfounded. I tripped and fell coming out of the elevator because it wasn't level with the floor. Hopefully the place has improved.

Our mother took a precipitous drop in her health two weeks ago. We contacted the HCA office as one of the providers we would consider for her hospice care. When we met with Alyse to both interview her and get a feel for how the organization does business, we were unanimous that HCA was the care provider we wanted for our mother. The office and in person experience was excellent. As to communication and care, I cannot say enough about the professionalism, compassion and consideration of both Alyse and our caregiver, Melissa. In the midst of a very difficult time and circumstance, they both elevated the level beyond the expectations of our family. Sadly, our mother died shortly after care was provided, but it was gratifying to have stellar care during her last days. Thank you so much for helping us and lovingly serving our mother. My dad was moved to Bethel from Theda Clark hospital after suffering a catastrophic brain stem…read morestroke. The stroke happened Feb 13 2026 and after he spent 3 weeks in the ICU, he was stabilized and moved to Bethel to continue his mental, physical and speech rehabilitation. My dad was a very energetic, loving strong man prior to the stroke. He was recovering. He was regaining the speech, his sight and some mobility that was lost. At Bethel, there were several issues that arose regarding his care and we were assured by the staff that he was being well taken care of but we continued to see very concerning issues. There are 7 of us. And our spouses and our mom. Some of the concerns were that his PEG tube wasn't secure allowing him to grab it or touch the wound with unclean hands. Hands that were unclean due to the diarrhea he was sitting in for an uncomfortably long time. This diarrhea was caused by an antibiotic he couldn't tolerate. And the diareaa was highly acidic. You can imagine where I'm going with this. He developed an infection in his abdomen, and he quickly went down hill. There was no significant increase in his fluid intake, even though he was experiencing extreme fluid loss. He suffered a heart attack due to high potassium levels from severe dehydration and ultimately this ended his life. Please think very carefully before you choose to bring your loved one here for care.

We stopped here while on vacation at Wisconsin dells, had to find an urgent care because my 4 yr…read moreold had a nasty cut on his head. We quickly googled online and decided to drive 25 min to come here rather another place 5-10 min closer, and that was a smart move. The urgent care/ ED here was great and super efficient, went through triage, got brought into treatment room, had vitals and brief history taken all done under 20 min or less. We were seen by Dr Biederman who was just efficient, wound cleaned and stapled and we were on our way, whole visit was about an hour, in contrast to Minneapolis children's where we were in lobby waiting for two hours, not seen till I wanted to leave. Other than their harder to find entrance, I would highly recommend this place if you have urgent need like ours.

They decide one Monday not to staff late and they give no heads up as to this fact when I told them I would specifically be in late that Monday. Then after them putting me through this they are unable to make things right and allow me to pickup after 4:30pm that week. I am looking at switching provider immediately, horrible service.
