This is a really good, basic hostel/hotel. It's family owned and operated, and the mother and daughter were incredibly nice and helpful. They were fine with us checking in around midnight at no extra charge, and on the day we checked out, they stored our bags for us during the day. They also gave us tips on things to see and do during our stay.
The location is great. It's not in a busy area, but is within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions and plenty of cafes and restaurants. The neighborhood felt safe, and the building seemed secure.
We had a private room, and it was reasonably large and comfortable enough. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they cleaned it every day, which I wasn't expecting. The place was very well maintained.
My only complaints are that that bathroom sink is very, very small, and that the shower worked very poorly (alternated between freezing cold and scalding hot) when other guests were also using the shower. The times nobody else was showering, it was fine.
Don't expect luxury by any means, but if you're on a budget, I don't think you could do any better for the price. I would definitely stay here again if I were on a tight budget. read more
