We wanted to find a roof top place for our last night in Lisbon. This place was exactly what we were looking for. The terrace had a spectacular view of the river and bridge. We ordered a few drinks and small plates and everything was very tasty. I highly recommend the meat croquettes. The staff were very friendly and if you're looking for a place to enjoy some drinks and a sunset, this is the place for you.

First night in Lisbon could not have started better. My friend who is married to a Portuguese told us to start by taking a cocktail at this hotel's roof top terrace before the sun had set. We came there around 8pm and the warm summer light made the view extra beautiful. Orange sunlight on the facades, blue glittering sea, a sky without clouds and then the Golden-Gate-kind-of-bridge in the background... It didn't hurt that the beer was super cold, the mojito was full with flavor and that they brought us some snacks to go with the drinks. I don't know anything about staying at this hotel, but I do recommend a visit to their roof top terrace. Good to know is that the bar has a roof that will protect you from the sun and at least not too heavy rain. And also good to know that the bar is tiny. Perfect for couples or maximum a party of 4. The wifi was down when we were there but I was too happy to worry about that, if I would have been a guest of the hotel, I would have worried more.

I haven't actually stayed at this hotel so this review is just for the amazing rooftop bar. Stylish yet comfy at the same time, with incredibly lovely staff, this was one of the highlights of our trip. A sparkly lift takes you up to the 6th floor where you get to enjoy a full bar, amazing cocktails, light dinners and last but not least: THE VIEW! We spend about 60Euro for 2 light main courses and 2 drinks each which isn't that bad. Ask for the wifi password!

    Beautiful staff!

The connecting room setup worked perfectly for us, plenty of space between the two rooms, and the staff had clearly thought through what families actually need, right down to the football shirts waiting for our kids on arrival. What really stood out was the spa, chromotherapy showers, a jacuzzi, and this bucket contraption that tips warm water on you when you least expect it, sounds odd but the kids were obsessed. Add in a genuinely excellent dinner at the in-house restaurant and a location that puts you right in the middle of old Lisbon, and it's easy to see why this place is so well rated. Would book again without hesitation.

The Hotel staff knows when you enter and exit the Hotel. During our stay, we kept our money locked in the safe. Before we checked out, we packed our bags and put our money in our luggage. We then put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and went for a half hour walk. The Hotel staff observed us leave at that time. While we were out, Hotel staff entered our room without permission and stole our money. We know we had the money, because we had just counted it for a tour in Porto the next day. After the theft, the Lisboa Carmo Hotel Management lied to us and tried to cover-up the crime. When I first called the Hotel, the Hotel staff person Louise Silva told me that they had cameras and that I should call back the next day to speak with Hotel management to have the video reviewed to solve the crime. The next day, I spoke with Assistant Hotel Manager Rafael, who told me that the Security Manager could review the video on Monday to see who wrongfully entered our room. However, the next day, the Hotel Manager Richardo Salvador sent me an email refusing to produce the video and threatened to sue me. That was so offensive. It seems clear that Richardo Salvador was lying and covering up the theft. His refusal to produce the video is proof that Hotel staff stole our money. My recommendation is there are lots of good hotels in Lisbon. So, stay away from the Lisboa Carmo Hotel!

The hotel's position is in the heart of Alto Barrio, conveniently located for all the main sights. It's right across the square from Carmo Convent, which our room had a fantastic view of. If you want to venture further, it's also just a few streets from an underground stop (Baixa Chiado). Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, all speaking perfect English. The rooms were delightful and spotless and had a fantastic shower. The hotel was quiet when we were there (it was off season) so they gave us a free room upgrade too. Free bottled water and coffee in the rooms, a nice restaurant on site... you can't go wrong!
