I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE local bakeries vs buying the processed crap at the stores or buying things at Wegmans, Albertsons, etc bakeries where they no longer bake at the actual stores anymore. Thats just sad. Anyway, I walked in here. The lady was nice. She seemed a little sketched out though for some reason, but super kick back at the same time if that makes sense? lol Anyway, told her I was just checking things out and I would let her know if I needed anything. She came back out from the front and asked again if I needed anything. So, I got a blueberry muffin. I LOVE blueberry muffins, but I never buy them anymore bc I no longer eat most things like that. It's a sad, lonely choice I made....to cut out all the tasty treats in the world lol NOT THIS DAY THO!! haha! I could not resist. The looked incredible and for $2 a piece being as big as they were...I had to. UNBELIEVABLY delicious. I was so happy I got it. Was so tempted to get a few other things, but Ive been so good with my diet...I had to refrain from doing so and just accept my boring, no sugar treats, kind of life lol I absolutely recommend this place. Prices are decent, the lady is nice, but she should realize that not all of us are bad :) The place itself is super cute, very homey, lots to look at and HEY! its a local bakery! It is very unfortunate that the old ethnic bakeries have gone away and replaced primarily by grocery stores. It appears that the children of the old ethnic bakeries saw how hard their parents worked and decided to become doctors and lawyers and such. The delicious cakes of our long ago memories are gone. I visit a lot of new bakeries trying to relive my past memories. It appears that most of these new bakeries utilize standard cake mixes available from a variety of sources. They may add an ingredient of two to try to make it taste more homemade, but they all fail my taste and texture tests. Most are light and fluffy cake with average icing. They do look good however, but that is not what I look for. I look for taste and texture. I was very pleasantly surprised with our recent visit to Sweet Solutions on Main Street in Canandaigua. I ordered two large cakes for a corporate event. One was Vanilla/Vanilla and the other was Triple Chocolate. WOW ! Both cakes were exceptional in both taste and texture. They looked great too. Both cakes were devoured by the 45 people in attendance. Sweet Solutions mentioned that each cake would serve about 40 people. They must serve small slices. Our guests had two and three helpings apiece. Everyone raved on how great the cakes were. I personally had three pieces (large by the way) and would have had more the next day if any were available. The visit to Sweet Solutions took me back to the 60's and 70's when Shreck's and Vecchi's bakeries in Canandaigua when I was a child. Both were exceptional bakeries that were local institutions. There are a few bakeries in Rochester, NY who make some nice cakes but they are not as good as Sweet Solutions in Canandaigua, NY. My wife is ordering another today ! I am overjoyed to finally find a bakery that can meet my high standards. I can honestly say that Sweet Solutions is the best in the greater Rochester area. Thanks for reading. Until this week, when we finally had a chance to visit the shop! The cutout cookies are AMAZING, like the best I've ever had. And they're adorable! The designs are constantly changing with the seasons and holidays. But they have other delicious things to choose from too. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes, the list goes on! You can find Sweet Blessings right on Main St in Shortsville. I've always been a sucker for these quaint little small town Main St shops, and this one is no different. There are cute signs in the window and a delicious smell greets you as you open the door to enter. There are tables and chairs strewn about if you want to stay and enjoy your baked goods. At the counter there is a display with a nice selection of treats, and they are constantly rotating stock. Behind the counter you can see cookies and other delicious goodies getting their finishing touches added on. I highly recommend if you've got a sweet tooth, are looking for a spot to have a treat and meet up with friends, or have a gathering you are looking to bring goodies to!

For the french toast she asked if I wanted a small or big stack. I didn't have glasses on or I might've noticed on the menu short=1, full=2. Using the same terminology or explaining would've been very helpful because when only one piece of toast arrived from my shorter "stack" I was very surprised. The mimosas were in small flute glasses which is way overpriced for the size. My husband's coffee was meant to have refills but we had to flag her down for that. She didn't actually bring us anything either, other wait staff brought the drinks and then the meals. The food was good, the ambience if you have the right seat is nice too. At the hostess station we overheard a phone call with someone requesting to be by the fireplace and now I see why. Will not return to this location when we're in town on a getaway this summer but might try the one in Pittsford or Penfield.

Having made reservations for 7:30pm, we arrived early and waited for our table to be ready. We made a note in our reservation for a booth on the fireplace side, and the woman (host) worked hard to make sure that happened. After sitting down, we placed in a couple appetizers. The bacon-wrapped scallops were delightful. The bacon, crispy and the scallops incredibly tender. Served with a side of drawn butter, but these were delicious on their own. As for the loaded potato puffs, we received a generous number of puffs, and each one was also very tasty. The sriracha ranch sour cream was the cherry on top. For mains, we opted in for the prime rib, and Delmonico "cowboy" cut. The prime rim was incredibly tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. Served with a phenomenal au jus, this is the best prime rib I've ever had. I can confidently say that about the Delmonico steak as well. This 20 oz. center-cut, bone-in was grilled to the perfect requested medium-rare. Seasoned perfectly, tender and juicy. Although I didn't care much for the gorgonzola cheese sauce, the steak was amazing. We also ordered a side of lobster tail. This was also incredibly tender and really brought the meals together. To end all things, we ordered their creme brulee served in a chocolate shell. This was a great dessert, although I would have preferred the custard to be firmer, and less chocolate sauce overall. I found the generous amount of chocolate sauce on the bottom of the plate, and on top of the creme brulee, on top of the chocolate shell they're served in to be over the top. Nevertheless, we enjoyed this dessert. I want to point out, all the staff members including the owner was very kind and welcoming. From the initial host to our server Lauren, to her boss who came around to ask us how everything was, the staff are very hospitable. Add in a warm and cozy dining room area with a fireplace, this is easily a 10/10 experience for us. We will make it a point to revisit more often and not years in between.
