Wanted to like this place, had heard good things about the Pittsford location but this was on our way home so we gave it a try. We were seated in the middle of the crowded dining room around 1:30 that thinned out quite a bit during our brunch. Without a reservation you can't complain but we got bumped into a few times so it didn't make for a very relaxing experience. Our waitress was not very good. For the french toast she asked if I wanted a small or big stack. I didn't have glasses on or I might've noticed on the menu short=1, full=2. Using the same terminology or explaining would've been very helpful because when only one piece of toast arrived from my shorter "stack" I was very surprised. The mimosas were in small flute glasses which is way overpriced for the size. My husband's coffee was meant to have refills but we had to flag her down for that. She didn't actually bring us anything either, other wait staff brought the drinks and then the meals. The food was good, the ambience if you have the right seat is nice too. At the hostess station we overheard a phone call with someone requesting to be by the fireplace and now I see why. Will not return to this location when we're in town on a getaway this summer but might try the one in Pittsford or Penfield. read more

Such a cozy little place to grab a breakfast/lunch. I would definitely recommend making reservations if you plan on grabbing brunch here. When I arrived, there was a line out the door and reservations are prioritized over walk ins. Luckily, I had booked a table and didn't have to wait to be seated. Highly recommend the espresso martini - it was so good, I got two! I also got the breakfast sandwich with ham which was also amazing. I ended up only eating half and taking the other half to go since it was so massive. Came with plenty of ham. I would definitely come back and try it with bacon. This place opened up at 8 o'clock and my friend and I went at 8:30 and it was already starting to fill up. By 9 o'clock the place was full with some people even waiting outside. We ordered the RumChata French toast as well as the breakfast sandwich. The French toast was incredible. The sandwich was OK. I definitely enjoyed the food it was filling and good portions. They have mocktails, cocktails, and coffee/juices available. Service was good except at the very end of our meal as we were about to pay, one of the male servers approached us and basically told us we should leave because they had reservations that were waiting. I'm sorry but I'm a paying customer and I hadn't even been there for an hour at that point. They should reserve specific tables for reservation customers instead of rushing people out of there. I am very picky about breakfast and this was one of the top three of my life! What a wonderful surprise. We stopped here after an overnight stay for a concert. This biscuits and jam were to die for. It was a busy Saturday morning and they served as the perfect appetizer (yes because I'm usually starving while waiting for a breakfast order). Croque madame crepe and hash brown patties were homemade and cooked to perfection as well. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. This place was gorgeous and in a beautiful area. I was pleasantly surprised they had buckwheat crepes and they were home made and gluten free. What did not allow that, however, was the combination of an echo-prone space and tables a little too close with those who would like to contribute to the conversations of others or make judgemental remarks at their table about a conversation that was none of their business. OK, let's begin. First the experience we had at this establishment on Mother's Day was wonderful, the food and service was great. That needs to be said because the experience today was very much in contrast. When we arrived, the table was jiggling and unsteady, and this resulted in a coffee and juice spill. The waitress responded by putting a wedge under the leg, but never offering to help with the spill. So we enjoyed soggy napkins, and puddles of juice and coffee. The brewed coffee on the menu is presented as bottomless, and was served hot but I promise you it has a bottom that we soon found as no refills were offered. We used a knife to stir the coffee due to no spoons at the table. My wife had the make your own omelette which arrived with cold toast that couldn't melt the butter served on the side and was not offered any jam, etc. I had the Huevo rancheros crêpe, which was a mixture of a bunch of ingredients that was intended to be complementary, but was poorly thought out. The crepe itself with the spicy bean filling was delicious, but then it was topped with pulled pork, the two eggs, a small side of guacamole, that was disappointing. And on the positive side, the hash cakes served with sour cream were great. This is the second time we've had those and I highly recommend them. The service was relatively poor, as was the food, and is difficult to understand because they weren't busy at all. At the end of this, $76 poorer, we would've been better off going to one of our favorite local diners. read more

I am partial to their sweet crepes though. I've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is quaint. The kitchen is open and there are chandeliers and brick decor. There is outdoor seating as well. I only got 4 pieces of broccolini for 7$, which felt very overpriced to me. They tasted pretty good though, so I would have liked to have at least 3 more broccolini. The crepe was also delicious. First impressions are everything, and this location failed miserably. I came in at 8:15am on Father's Day, to inquire about a table for a party of 6. I understand that Father's Day is a holiday and that some places require reservations, so I didn't have high expectations. The host, who apparently thought he was running the front desk at the Waldorf-Astoria, instead of the host stand of a restaurant in Canandaigua, couldn't have been any more condescending. "Oh, SIX?" "Well, it is a holiday, we require a reservation(Eyeroll)". We also asked about alternatives, such as breaking up the party into smaller groups, considering that there was one two top table in the entire restaurant, and that was met with even more derision. After that experience, there's no way I would ever recommend this restaurant to anyone, no matter how good the food is. I don't spend my money at places that don't value my business. I would suggest getting away for a weekend in Canandaigua and starting your day here at Simply Crepe's every morning for breakfast or brunch. The food here is delicious. The Breakfast Crepe is a more traditional breakfast crepe to pick. You can't go wrong here; it is all the regular breakfast items inside a crepe. The Maple Sausage Stacker with their homemade Applewood bacon cream is a must-have. Seriously, you must try this. The crepes are folded and act as a biscuit. While you may be thinking the bacon cream sounds over the top, it's not. It is light as far as creams go. The crispy reds that come with some of the choices are indeed crispy and you can even add melted cheddar cheese to them. Go ahead; you're out to breakfast after all. The French toast comes with a nice cinnamon sugar crispy coating, not the typical soggy French toast that seems to happen more often than not when out to eat. Although an affogato isn't always on the menu, they have made it each and every time we have requested it. If you don't know what an affogato is, you're missing out. A hot espresso poured over cold vanilla gelato. They top theirs with Nutella and slivered almonds. It all melts together for a delicious after breakfast drink. The only reason I don't give 5 stars for food, is because I would love to see a steak and egg crepe. Seriously, that is the only reason. A point in case here, you must go to Simply Crepes. You will end up going back for more, no matter how many times you wind up there, you will go back for more. read more
