I started with regular chiropractic adjustments every week, and it helped a lot with reducing the migraines, tension and tightness in my neck and shoulders. However, the relief was only lasting about 4-5 days, before the muscle tension would start to creep back. About a year or two of doing just chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Rachel and I discussed incorporating acupuncture with my weekly adjustments, and I cannot tell you how big of a difference that made. After about 4-6 weeks of doing acupuncture every week, the muscle tension and tightness stopped coming back. If you suffer from migraines (migraine headache with aura), you know how big of a deal that is. It was absolutely wild, because it had been years since I was able to go to bed at night and not have any pain or stiffness in my head, neck, or shoulders. And I now get to sleep like this every single night!!! Fast forward a couple more years, and I have still been getting acupuncture every single week, and for the last 11 months, I have incorporated light therapy with my weekly chiropractic and acupuncture appointments. When I tell you that my entire body has never felt more relaxed, it is almost unfathomable to believe! I have never slept better in my life until I started light therapy. Upon arriving the check in was fast, Katy checked me in, was super kind, and informative. I had a cup of water before my massage and Sierra came to grab me pretty quickly. Prior to my massage she checked in with me regarding what I wanted work on, the intensity of the massage, deep tissue massage, and the use of hot stones. I think she did a good job of informing me of what was happening as it was happening. My one comment would be a little bit of small talk to help ease customers into comfort if they're new to massages. I will say the unique thing about this massage was it felt like she utilized holistic approach (really utilizing the feedback of the muscles / body to find spots of tension or knots) to working with the body and not just massaging at a hard level. I usually leave massages sore and relaxed although I left here not super sore but my muscles and body felt relaxed. I was impressed with Sierra's ability to find the knots or tight spots and to work on them in a way that's wasn't only painful (a few spots were but that's normal). I got a deal on my massage as it was my first one which was extremely affordable and likely started a new little splurge for future me to continue caring for my body in a way which feels productive and healing. Outside of this experience I have also come to Wellspring to do a free yoga class which was extremely helpful in releasing body tension and relaxing. There is also tea and water for customers. Overall, I think that the employees at Wellspring care for their customers and truly want to help. This is shown in how they talk, present, the engagement that's shown, and the hard work they do. She had been seen at other physical therapy centers but never seemed to improve much. After it was recommended that she seek treatment at Wellspring she had an evaluation and has begun treatment. She says that she feels like they are REALLY helping her and for the first time has not had to take Ibuprophen every moring for pain! Apparently they incorporate a "holistic, whole body approach" using hands on and various tools to also address years of muscles tightening or weakening. She added that she has found the staff (PT's, PTA's, Physician Assistant, front office) work exceedingly well together as a team helping, encouraging, supporting and reinforcing her progress and simplifing scheduling and insurance issues. A couple of places charge $20-22 per class and that's with a package. So, yes, please! TimeOut's barre classes are called "Behind Bars". I've only had Madeline so far. I find her a very effective fitness instructor. Even though the classes have 20-30 students, she scans the room and offers up corrections and modifications. This impresses me. I also liked the fact that there seemed to be a wide variety of ages in my barre classes rather than a bunch of 20 something year olds clad in Lululemon with fake tans unlike a certain yoga chain that I will not mention by name. I would recommend signing up for class online. Also, you get a "no show" charge if you sign up for a class but don't show up but this is pretty common with barre classes. I haven't taken the other classes yet, but I might take a pilates one to switch things up. The studio itself is also very, very nice. There are dressing rooms, hot towels, and tea. Reception area people are nice also! So, you have to sign up for an orientation which at first I was kind of bummed out. But, when I went to the orientation, I found it really helpful and the instructor seemed knowledgeable and interested in everyone. Orientation is only about 15-20 minutes so not really a biggie. I would recommend trying to fit your orientation in before a class you want to attend. I've also not had parking issues at this place either but I usually take the first class of the day.
