Like most people I don't have the need for a painting contractor very often so when we needed our…read morehome interior painted before putting it on the market I was left to rely on online reviews. I ended up finding three contractors that all looked excellent from those reviews and called each for a bid. One said he was familiar with the model and didn't need to come out to quote it. I asked him to do so because there were a couple of repairs that we wanted done at the same time. He asked us to send pictures because he was too busy. I scratched him off the list. The next said he couldn't come out for two or three weeks and that he could give me a call. I passed. I called Straitline Painting next and was pleasantly surprised when someone actually answered the phone. I spoke with Cody, the president of the company and he told me he was very interested in quoting the job and wanted to know if it would be okay if he came out the next morning. We met and he walked the house with us. He was on time and as we walked through the house pointing out some of the areas that needed some extra attention he was very engaged and seemed genuinely interested in giving us the best advice he's could after many years in the industry. He gave us a professionally prepared detailed and fair bid within 2 days and we gave him the job . He even helped us finalize the paint colorto take into account the way the sunlight comes into the home and took the time to show us some of the differences room to room that paint color selection can make. (We ultimately selected a color based on his input.) He and his painter Jerome took a little less than a week to finish the job but I could tell from the beginning that they were pros. Rosin paper down all around and everything masked to prevent any over spray or damage to our property. They spent a good amount of time on that but it clearly paid off. The house was cleaner when they left then when they started. I'm attaching a handful of photos of the finished product but I will tell you we could not be happier with the work that was done or with the interaction that we had with Cody - very responsive and pleasant to deal with there is no doubt in my mind that his very first priority is to make sure that his customers are completely satisfied with the work his company has done for them. We procured three quotes for wallpapering and painting. Tom came promptly and was very nice,…read moremeasured, and gave us an estimate ($2,100 for our 1,548 square foot home). One of the other quotes we received was $2,600.00, and that individual did not measure, so we went with Tom and are so happy we did. We don't live at the property yet, but Tom made it very easy for us to work with him, and we totally trusted him with our home. Tom also fixed issues from the previous painters at no extra cost to us (like where they had gotten paint on the trim and moulding). He worked extremely fast with precision, kept us in the loop on issues with the house, and even fixed 2 walls for me where I mistakenly told him to paint them the wrong color. Our final interior bill came out to $3,100.00 because the house ended up needing 3 coats instead of 2 coats due to the dark color the previous owners had selected, but that also included materials and was still cheaper than one of the other quotes we had received. We liked Tom and Chris' work so much that we also selected them to paint our exterior, and they did a fabulous job. Not only did they go above and beyond by actually fixing areas of our home where the paneling was coming off and caulking it back onto the home, but they gave it a thorough power wash and coordinated the work with other exterior contractors. I have posted progress photos and will update when the work is fully final on Saturday! We highly recommend Tom and Chris for anyone seeking to paint the interior or exterior of their home!

Most people I asked were afraid of the job or would bombard me without any details. Andrew was a real human that got on a call with me, broke down his process, added details to help me understand (because there was a leaf and metal inside the table to complicate matters) and was fully transparent about his availability. He also mentioned a generous price because it was my grandmother, which he didn't have to do. He showed up at the time window I requested (time windows are best for contractors because job times vary). My kids wanted to watch and he was friendly and approachable. He requested to work outside so that he could keep my place as tidy as possible. I have a high-volume life and I was able to trust him to work on his own, go to Home Depot and back for more tools he needed unexpectedly (he was prepared but that table needed more maintenance), and lock up my house properly when he left. I would trust him with high-profile clients and really weird jobs. Andrew is a good guy, straight arrow, and a sharp shooter.
