I am happy and pleased to promote the fine craftsmanship of Quality Crown Moulding. Zach and Larry did an impeccable job with several exterior door installations as well as crown moulding in a master bath. From the selection and sourcing of the appropriate replacement doors and associated contruction materials right up to installation day, they were on top of all aspects of my home improvement. For starters, they removed four somewhat dilapidated patio doors and replaced them with four brand new high quality Simpson French Thermal doors with beautiful clear glass. The installation was expertly installed and finessed by Larry, aka "The Door Whisperer", and we now have an updated look as well as style, beauty and security. This improvement has added value to our home. Moving forward to front door installation...a Simpson Craftsman Two-Panel One Lite Door with rain glass was installed with a new casement and threshold. Interior Shaker moulding was added and the once dreary front entrance is now a sweet spot! The door has a wonderful swing and locks with precision. All spaces around the casement were patched and mortared and decorative trim was added to the casement. The "door jewelry" (the hinges, door knob and deadbolt) looks and works great and a dentil shelf was added and installed with perfect placement. In between the door installations, they installed crown moulding in the master bath. All wood surfaces were professionally prepped and painted. The care demonstrated by this great team is as if they were working on their own homes. We really enjoyed the entire process and are thrilled with the results. Greedy! I just now recall Zach gave me an estimate of nearly $18,000 to install baseboard and 5 doors with door cashing, 1 french door, a window trim, and simple closet shelving for my house (1,780 sqt, one story) a couple years ago. I turned him away and got all new doors, door casing, baseboard done for less than $4,000. Granted, I decided not to have a French door ($2,000) and a window trim (less than $1,000). Just last week (nearly 2 years later), I forgot all about that and called Zach for an estimate for similar work for my other condo. I did not remember I had talked with him before. Same thing happened, he offered to replace 2 interior doors for $1,700 (including painting and removal/replacement of door casing). What made it worse was that he went from $1,700 to $600 plus $250, and then $1,000 just for labor when I questioned him about pricing because I do know that average cost of installation of a new door including materials and labor is around $350 to $400 for a solid core textured 6 panel door. He also promised to paint the kitchen and bathroom and we agreed on pricing. He then canceled the painting overnight, flat out telling me that he is taking a job elsewhere. For whatever the reason, I was cleaning my kitchen junk drawer earlier today and found his business card from a couple years ago which helped me to recall about the $18K estimate. I tossed the business card. Never again, I wanted to do business with this individual. It's all about $$$. read more
