Good luck finding more meticulous and professional woodworkers anywhere else. We needed a 12 foot piece of butcherblock cut for an under mount sink which is an extremely precise cut. Not a single contractor I reached out to would touch this job with a ten foot pole for fear of messing up the cut and ruining the slab. Generations showed up next day, made the cut, sanded the edges to perfection, and cleaned up. All for a price that I would have been happy to pay for a job done half as well. When I saw the finished product, I would've guessed that cut cost twice as much and was done with computers and lasers or something. Can't recommend these folks enough. read more

Mike is a life saver! A flood in my kitchen left my bottom cabinets ruined. Luckily the cabinet doors and faces were good so instead of buying new cabinets for the whole kitchen I wanted to have someone rebuild the damaged bases. Turns out nobody does that and everyone I contacted said it wasn't possible or could be done. I was getting frustrated and was ready to give up when I found Mike. Even though Mike was in the middle of some big jobs, he was more than happy to help and worked on my project in between his bigger jobs and on weekends. He single handedly help me save my kitchen. Without the cabinets, I couldn't move forward with flooring, countertops or backsplash. He kept all his deadlines to keep everything moving forward. I was so impressed with his work I asked him to case my windows and doors and he also helped me with some misc items around the condo when he was there I think it's important that share that as a female living by myself I was very comfortable with Mike in my place. Mike is very respectful and professional and he is a big guy but he would make a point to always give me plenty of space. Mike was a pleasure to work with and the job came out great, exactly like I asked for but way better than I could do myself. It started as a small job as they often do, the particle board under the kitchen sink had disintegrated because of a leak before I moved in. I had him over and he gave me a quote to replace the particle board. And it was reasonable. Then as I was removing the old particle board I put some weight onto the kitchen sink cabinet frame, not knowing it was also weakened, and it snapped at the bottom. I repeated it on the other side, for good measure. On the plus side, the kitchen cabinet now knows who is boss. But now I made the job even harder. Mike came back out to now also quote and take measurements to replace the forward-facing cabinet frame. He was busy and it was tricky to schedule him. We had scheduled for a day on the weekend but he had to cancel for a good reason. When he did come out for the final cutting and install it ended up being high quality and looking great for a reasonable price. Mike is an excellent carpenter. If I hadn't seen him replace the kitchen cabinet face I would not have believed he actually did it - the replacement matched perfectly with the old cabinets. read more

My experience with Mike was very positive. I had some issues with a cabinet built by another cabinet builder (NOT MIKE). I was getting a lot of excuses from this other cabinet builder and was becoming very frustrated. I found Mike on yelp and his reviews seemed very positive so I called him to see if he could advise me as to the validity of my concerns.... (maybe what we were experiencing WAS normal??) I also asked if we could hire him to could come out and rework the cabinet for us. He said that unfortunately his schedule was too tight and couldn't take on another project but he felt compassion on us for our situation and offered to come out at no charge and take a look at the issues we were having. He stayed in communication with me on setting up an appointment time and true to his word came out and spent at least 30 minutes examining the issues and making suggestions. Before he left he made sure that we did not have any other questions he could answer. I sincerely wish he could have been the one to build the cabinet in the first place. Although I have not actually had him build something for us I give him five stars without hesitation simply based on my communication and experience with him. read more

Late one night the latch plate on the double door entry to our condo just fell off. We knew the underlying wood did not hold the screws well, but when we had replaced the lockset the installer used extra-long screws, hoping it would hold. The heads of those mismatched screws were a bit too small for the opening so. . . eventually it failed. Help! We called Mike, explained the situation, and texted him photos. He was sure he could work out a fix, and was over the next day with a solid solution, including new screws that matched the color of the latch plate. He explained what he was doing and why it should work, fixed it, cleaned up the debris, and made sure we were satisfied with how the door latched. He asked if there was anything else he could do while he was here, looked at a gouged place on a cabinet door, and explained why it could not be fixed to match the rest of the door. We could not be more pleased with his work . . . and his helpful explanation of work that cannot be done. We will call him for any future work we need done. read more

He reschedules, was often late and subcontracted the work out without my knowledge or permission. After the work had already started he said he misquoted and needed more $$$. I also paid him in advance for another project and he never even started on it. It took weeks to get my money back. His lack of professionalism and integrity makes him unhireable to me.
