We had an initial video call and it was obvious right away that Eliana truly loves our furry friends. My mind was put to ease because she asked good, relevant questions - about eating habits, allergies, anything I was concerned about. She requires proof of vaccinations and a signed contract, which were all good signs of her seriousness and responsible business practices. When it came time to drop off our dog, we were nervous about the transition because our dog has only known a couple of sitters and is not used to cramped, loud city life. But she made the hand off so easy. He took to her right away. So much so that our kids were disappointed that our dog didn't even look back when we got in our car to leave! While we were away, Eliana sent frequent updates through her client portal, with lots of pictures and videos, and even a summary of the feeding, walking, and bathroom schedule. Grant it, there were one or two "hiccups" with unreliable employees (which is always an issue with any company) but management was quick and responsive and made sure my dog was in good care. But my fur baby wasn't only in good care, she was in great care. When I traveled and needed overnight stays, the staff spent so much time in my apartment. I assured the younger ones that they could go out at night, but they insisted on staying with my dog. They absolutely spoiled her with love and attention. My dog had behavioral issues in the beginning as she was a rescue, and they handled them beautifully. Towards the end they were very caring and understanding when my dog's health deteriorated. I am not ready to adopt again, but when I do, I will not hesitate to use their services again.

Of course, within a few months I found out my cat, Cassie, was diabetic and would require insulin shots twice a day. I knew that I could no longer rely on my good friend who just enjoyed visiting the cats while I was away, but I needed professional help to not only visit Cassie and my other cat, Napoleon Dynamite, on a schedule, yet also feel comfortable with letting someone in my home twice a day, and to trust those people. I give Riverside Bark a five star rating. I constantly got updates while I was on a trip to the Pacific Northwest, like clockwork. When the sitter had some troubles with Cassie (she gets a little anxious and scared, and doesn't let people around her), he called me immediately, put me on FaceTime so I could try talking to her! We haven't had a single trip that's gone without major issues because of sitter neglect and lack of care. We decided to try boarding to help with our cat's separation anxiety and we still can't believe how well it went. Communication and expectations were open and clear, and the sitter went above and beyond to make sure our cat felt safe and cared for, even with her timidity and fears. She did so much to ease her anxiety and help her in the stressful situation of unfamiliarity and interrupted routine. It was a dream come true to find someone like this. I was also reassured by concluding a contract with the company, which clearly stipulates all provisions of the boarding and when we'll receive updates/photos, etc. It eased our minds so much compared with past experiences when communication was totally sporadic despite someone living in our home.
