My sweet 10 year old dog had developed separation anxiety so I was unable to have my regular dog sitter stay with her when I recently went on vacation. I had never boarded a pet before so was quite concerned about all the stories I'd heard. At My Best Buddies she was so well cared for. When I returned she had to think twice about leaving! The staff are so caring and were diligent with her special diet & meds. They sent me frequent pictures and let me know how she was doing. I do not know where I would be without Teresa and My Best Buddies. She and her staff are professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and kind. Luca has been well socialized because of his stays there and always pulls me to the door upon arriving. It's like being dropped off with family. The negative reviews here don't pull any weight, although this is a customer service industry, it must be treated with the same respect as one would want given. Would you interrupt a day school in session? or disrupt someone in a doctor's office during their appointment? It would have been convenient to have a dog wash/boarding nearby, However, I rang the doorbell and no one answered the door - we passed back 5 minutes later and saw a white woman enter. I rang the doorbell again, just for the lady working there to shout "you have to call" from the inner door. My Best Buddies has been so amazing for me and my dog! At first, they would come walk her when I was at work. But they recommended that she go for daycare instead and they were right -- my dog has been so much happier staying with them during the day! She looks forward to going to daycare and absolutely loves all of the people who work there. When I take her for walks, she likes to walk to MBB to say hi to her friends. For the negative reviews, I'm not sure why people expect to be let in any time they stop by? MBB is trying to keep a secure and comfortable environment for the dogs. It's genuinely hard to capture in a simple review how grateful I am to have found Janet and Theresa to take care of my dog, Luna, at My Best Buddies. I moved to the neighborhood 7 months ago, and was really nervous to find a new dog walker. I didn't know who I could trust, and Luna was having a hard time adjusting to the new apartment. My anxieties were completely quelled the day I met Janet and Theresa - Luna immediately loved them. I initially hired them for just dog walking, but one day Janet texted me asking if I wouldn't mind if Luna went to daycare that day, because someone was doing construction in our building and Luna was clearly frightened. She emphasized she wouldn't charge me for this, she just wanted Luna to be calm and feel secure. I can't tell you how much this meant to me. This "above and beyond" and "dog-first" attitude really impressed me, and I admire how selfless these women are when it comes to taking care of dogs (and cats). Luna loved daycare so much and thrived there, so I decided to continue with daily day care. I have complete peace of mind knowing Luna's safe and happy while I'm at work. Now, 7 months later, I can say with confidence they're the most trustworthy caretakers for animals I have ever met - they sincerely are in this business because they love and care about the happiness, healthiness, and safety of all animals they cross paths with. In addition to that, Janet and Theresa both have been so accommodating and flexible. I literally just dropped Luna off last minute on my way to the airport, which was unplanned, and Theresa/Janet were there to greet us right away. Undoubtably the best people in Brooklyn. These women actually care for your pet like it's their own. They always leave these sweet little notes letting us know how our beloved prince Dusty is doing. Outstanding! Left my 2 puppies for multiple straight days while I was away and needed help. This is a family owned business and they take care of your pets as their own. They are very caring and you can tell they love what they do. Best part is, if you are against caging your pet, they will absolutely not cage them and let them hang with other dogs/cats as long as they are friendly (I have 2 very friendly Shihtzu's). They will send you text message updates throughout the day and send you pictures which is great. If you are in the neighborhood or even if your not I highly recommend this place and feel absolutely safe and confident with leaving my puppies here. There is no other place I would ever leave my dog. My dog is my family and this place treats your dog like it's their family too. My little guy requires 5 different meds at different times daily and Theresa is on top of it. My best buddies is way more personal than your everyday daycare and I couldn't be happier. Whether it's 2 hours, 2 days or 2 weeks, id never even bother considering leaving my dog anywhere else. My Biggie was pampered and cared for by 2 of the most friendliest pet lovers we have ever met. Our pet has health issues and their follow up by calling us and keeping us posted was greatly appreciated during his grooming is evidence of the high standards they follow. We loved that he was not caged and due to his illness they took their time grooming him. I felt so welcomed and am so thankful that we found Best Buddies for Biggie. Our shih-tzu had never been sat for by anyone except family so we were concerned about a large kennel environment. That's why this small storefront location in a quiet part of Bay Ridge was ideal. The dogs are very well kept and seem very happy....to the point that our shih-tzu is looking forward to his next visit! I had no one to watch my dog while away for 4 days. I have never boarded my 9 year old Dolce since I've had him and was very nervous leaving him behind in an unknown place and environment. My neighbor recommended My Best Buddies and I am thrilled that I used their services. Two lovely sisters, Teresa and Janet run the establishment. They showed me around, there was a room in the back that had access to a backyard and that's where my dog would be staying she said. During my trip I was sent updates & photos of my dog, if I had any concerns I was texted back immediately. When I asked when I could pick him up they said anytime. I had to tell them my flight didn't get in until almost midnight and they indicated that was fine since the establishment is open 24 hours. I was ecstatic! I wanted to get my guy back home and with me. Sure enough 12:30 am I arrived to get Dolce and Teresa let me in. I highly, highly recommend and plan on using them again. We even took advantage of their pet bathing area and gave him a bath before heading home - so much more convenient and less hassle than doing it at home! Best buddies is an amazing place for boarding your pet. We boarded our cat Tiki when my husband and I went for vacation. My cat loved Theresa from the very beginning and she seemed happy and playful when we went to pick her up. This review is not actually about pet boarding, even though I am a dog owner and My Best Buddies was a great clean and very happy looking place for the two adorable dogs that were there. I was running a Half Marathon along Shore Parkway and the race company had a problem getting the Port o Pots delivered..it was very early Sunday morning and there was no other place for me to stop to go to the bathroom. There was a very very nice woman in My Best Buddies and she let me come in and use her bathroom...Such a thoughtful caring person..so often people slam the door in your face and just refuse...I live in Long Beach, NY and if I was closer to this business, I would definitely bring my dog there for boarding ..If she was that nice to me,,,,I am sure she takes great care of the dogs read more

Love Love Love them!! They do an amazing job taking care of my Frankie Bear!! Every time I am in a jam they come to the rescue. When my Frankie was sick they helped nurse him back to life by giving him his medication daily. I don't know what I would have done without them. i wanted to write a review and let everyone know how great my best buddies was for my 12 year old spaniel mix sadie while we were in miami last july. we received text messages with pictures from sadie everyday. all texts that i sent to my dog were promptly returned. i never had to worrry that my sadie baby wasnt being spoiled.
