Restrooms aren't great so I'd suggest avoiding them. It's a sloping walk upwards to the overlook but there's a path. Cool rock formations here and there. Nothing special but if you need to stretch your legs it's convenient.

You drive right through it on I-70. There're are endless camping spots. From the established spots like Goblin Valley and The San Rafael River. But the true gems are the little spots that you will find down a bumpy dirt road. Grab a map or check Google earth. There's tons of area to explore. Summers can be brutally hot, so I recommend the spring and fall. Also come prepared. Unless you are near 70 there's not much for cell service. Enjoy your public lands!

Except, weirdly enough, the Horse Canyon Rest Area, where the viewing isn't much (you certainly can't see Horse Canyon, for instance) and the one place you might have been able to clamber is blocked by barbed wire. As others note, the main thing this has to recommend it is four open pit toilets that honestly don't smell as bad as they could. No water, no hand sanitizer, no vending machines, no view. That's not nothing, I guess, but it's not much. If at all possible, just stop at a gas station in Wellington or Green River.

The view from the back of the hotel is very pleasant and the breakfast is quite good and again very professional hotel staff so I give it a a few stars and with the major exception of all the room motion and noise would have given it 5 stars. For the cost of staying here I expected to be able to work which I had a hard time. There's very little around here in terms of eating or hotel stay. Suggest unless you have to stay in the area to continue onto Moab.

More importantly, the rooms were clean, orderly, dark at night, and otherwise perfectly acceptable, which is NOT always the case with roadside inns. Our room was spacious with a sitting area that included a comfortable sofa, and a chair and ottoman. The staff is incredibly friendly and jumped in to assist with any needs or inquiries. The breakfast was a hive of activity with staff that refreshed supplies as they dwindled, helped to tidy tables and made every guest feel welcome. Things to note: There is a large patio outside the breakfast area that is open to guests any time of the day. This space is a great spot to eat breakfast, watch the sun come up, to check out the constant parade of 4WD vechicles that come though town, to people watch, and to socialize at the end of the day; This location is perfect for walking just about anywhere in town; Numerous restaurants were a block or two away; Free parking at the hotel was plentiful; The pool and hot tub were wonderfully relaxing and were in a private outdoor space with some tables/chairs that were either under a roof or umbrellas that provided shade; A locked bike room was available; The coin guest laundry room was very nice to have on-site; The entire hotel was very clean and well lit. Friendly staff, low key location by the river, comfortable beds, affordable and good included breakfast. The place is dated with some upgrades, but the history and nostalgic of it in my mind trumps any new hotel. Things to also keep in mind is this location is only an hour away from Goblin State Park and Arches national park. There is also a very popular restaurant called Tamarisk next to it which served some amazing home cooked style food.

The horses on the property added to the whole feel of the place. The room was such a nice retreat from the Moab heat. Comfortable and exactly what you want after a day out driving and in the sun. Dinner at Ember was excellent. Great food, great drinks, and a nice atmosphere. The best touch is that they send you off with s'mores to enjoy at the end of the night -- the kind of small detail that turns a good stay into a memorable one. Beautiful property, thoughtful hospitality, and a setting that's honestly worth the trip on its own. We're already looking forward to staying again. Highly recommend.

Nothing special. Not worth the money. I won't be coming back…read more I was disappointed to learn that the two-bedroom riverside cabin I reserved was unavailable when I checked in. I appreciated the discount I was given to downgrade to a king riverside room. The gentleman that checked me in was incredibly professional, courteous and friendly; that guy deserves a raise without question. The room I was given was clean and the view was excellent. The TV worked intermittently (maintenance had to come reset the box at one point) and the quality of sound from the low-quality TV is horrible. The ceiling fan constantly squeaked and wobbled regardless of speed or direction. The control for the electric window blinds is wired wrong (the down button raises the blinds and vice versa.) The incredibly inconsistent service at the restaurant bar was excellent on Sunday evening, but very poor on Saturday evening. After being told at checkin that the pet fee would be waived for my dog, I received an updated bill hours after checkout with the pet fee reinstated; I had to call to get that reversed. In retrospect, I'm grateful for the downgraded room with the discounted rate; if I had paid the full amount for the cabin I originally reserved I would have been very unsatisfied with my stay. Given the discounted rate for the downgraded room, I consider my stay acceptable but, overall, definitely not exceptional. Compared to the Hilton Hoodoo (where I usually stay when I'm in Moab) this property isn't anywhere close to Hoodoo's level of quality, comfort, style and excellent bar/restaurant service.
