Clean and quiet, nothing fancy. Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful by phone and email, but only available in-person between 4pm and 10pm (I would give 4.5 stars instead of 5 for that, if possible). I have stayed at several places in Green River without satisfaction and this property is the best for me. It is beautifully redone. It is not pretentious and does not try to do it all as many try to do. Coffee and fridge in the room. Located right next door to the local coffee shop which I have always enjoyed. Beyond all of that it is the bargain of the century. They book only for a 4 PM check in which one should keep in mind and plan for if early. 18 rooms in this 50's style motel so book early or U could miss out. read more

Much more than meets the eye. Sleepy Hollow was build post WWII and is still owned and maintained by the same family. Single story so you never have someone tromping above you. Still has it's original neon sign! Rooms have been updated but have kept a touch of retro. Beds are very comfortable. Huge shower was wonderful. This little gem is recently remodeled. My room was clean had all the essentials. Bed comfortable linens clean and fresh. Rates very competitive. Has a drip coffee machine in room but no breakfast bar. Desk Clerk was friendly, efficient and helpful in recommendation for dinner. Parking spaces a bit narrow. read more

This is a clean old school motel. Old school cool. I found them on Yelp! They keep costs low in staffing. The owner has a fancier hotel down the road. They stop answering voice phone when the shift ends. Office staffing starts late in the morning They are filled often. You need to explicitly ask for the Wi-Fi password at registration. No way to get it after. The rooms are very strongly "fresh" scented. They don't give guidance on checking out and what to do with your key. I just left mine by the sink and locked the door. The bed, the bathroom and the Spanish style furniture were great. They are right next door to a recommended individualistic coffee and breakfast spot. I recommend them, and they are five stars for price, just set your expectations. They could easily solve some things of concern without cost. read more

Our California to Illinois road trip was not enhanced by the Black Friday-like attitude for inside seating at the hotter-than-hell In-N-Out, Las Vegas or the compressor for my air conitioner expiring in St. George, Utah in 99 degree heat. We drove as long as we could tolerate, exited the interstate in the middle of nowhere and spied a darling motel complete with a vintage neon sign...it could have been sweet...or seedy...in fact we passed it up for the brand name motel but four Japanese tourists were impeding any chance of checking in before Christmas so we turned around and went back. The Sleepy Hollow was our absolution and the manager (owner?) Kelly gave us the last room, a "family room" with two bedrooms, good thing since I was traveling with my ex-husband. Kelly charged us a VERY reasonable price of a regular room which made me happy 'cause I was paying. The room was outdated and the bathroom sink came up to my knees but I don't really care about that. It was CLEAN! Even the grout sparkled. The beds had good sheets and nice pillows and I was the only live thing sleeping in it. The shower was how I like my coffee, hot and strong! What a great little place. Stopped in after being exhausted from traveling while not felling well. NOT a good combination. Rooms are nice but simple. You can tell they put their best foot forward and have kept this place nice despite its obvious age and use. (I think it's been here for a while) Bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. Shower took a while to warm up when I first arrived but It was warm this morning! Breakfast is included and everything is better compared to what you'd find at a chain place. Just awesome. If i'm back in Grand Junction and need a place to stay I will definitely keep this place in mind! read more

We have stayed at this motel twice. The first time was a year ago, and again about 2 weeks ago. I would stay here again. The rooms are inexpensive, clean rooms and baths and its super quiet at night. The furniture is dated and the TVs are terrible, but it's a decent place to crash for a good nights sleep. For breakfast, try Green River Coffee Co thats right next door for coffee and a light breakfast before hitting the road. read more

Charming motel and most importantly - so cheap! VERY outdated, which I find cute, but also immaculately clean and everything in good repair. However, our king bed was truly down to the springs, super hard and thin mattress. My husband's back was killing him and he doesn't have existing back issues and is not the type to complain ever. We stacked all of the bedding on top and it was sleepable but not great. With new or better beds, this place would be an easy 5 stars. It is close to everything in tiny Green River and walking distance of lots of restaurants ranging from the nicer Tamarisk down the street to cheaper fast Chowhound across the street. We were bummed that we couldn't get a room at our usual place (Robbers Roost) but I think this is just as good aside from the mattress issue. We were pleasantly surprised to find they had free wifi and it worked like a charm, too. read more

First the good.....a clean, recently renovated retro motel at a great price. But I wonder if the owners of SHM have ever checked into their place. You have to think if you have room with two beds, you will have two guests with two bags. SHM did not have place to put a second bag. I went to the front desk to ask for another luggage rack, but none were to be had. So I had to put my bag on the floor. Another helpful improvement would be a shelf in the bathroom. Where are two people supposed to put their toiletrie bags? Finally, no hair dryer. If SHM addresses these issues, it's a 5 star op lace in Green River read more

Stopped here during a family road trip. Needed a place to lay our heads and freshen up for a night. River Terrace down the street wanted $130 plus tax for a night. Sleepy Hollow only asked for $56. The gentleman at the check in was friendly. We stayed in their family room. The overall cleanliness of the room was acceptable. Old furniture and appliances. Wi-Fi works well. The top lock in our room didn't work/wasn't functional. It was as if it was put there to trick someone that might think about breaking in that they would have to break through two locks. Luckily it's not a seedy motel where we felt our safety was a major concern. They have the bare minimum, but all you need for a restful night. We'd stay here again if passing through Utah. read more

Rooms with two doubles, old but spotlessly clean, and priced accordingly. Just finished a three night stay and I can say the previous 4-5 star reviews are accurate. I was attending the Moab Easter Jeep Safari where all the motels/hotels/camping sites were full. The exception was the Super 8 which had a room for $220/night! (There's no way I'm paying that extortion.) So, the next closest is Green River where I found this gem. The owners are polite and knowledgeable about the area, although don't expect much from Green River in terms of food. They don't have laundry facilities at the Sleepy Hollow but those are available about 200 yards away down the road at a local RV/Campground.. Sleepy Hollow has nice, clean rooms but with carpet and furniture from my grandmother's home. For the price, it really didn't matter in fact it was a bargain. If your looking for a 3-5 star hotel/motel this isn't it. But if you want clean basic accommodations at a great place, then this is your home for the night. Also, next-door is a coffee shop with breakfast and sandwiches, for lunch. A great place to start your day off. Oh yea, their wifi was very fast. read more

Experienced a flat tire on my way to Denver, needed to stop for the night and found this amazing gem! Friendly! Economical! and most importantly friendly! Perfect night's rest, next to the most amazing coffee shop west of the Rocky Mountains. I highly recommend, family owned and run, if you need to stop the Sleepy Hollow Motel is where it's at! A great road trip motel! The owner is friendly, and the rooms are clean. The interior and exterior are vintage, but they're bright and painted and well-kept. And it is WAY, WAY less expensive than the chain hotels down the road. There's a nice park next door with swings, picnic benches, and a playground for kids -- even a replica of some kind of rocket.
